Was watching Nazr stamp 23 and 17 against the Lakers and was wondering why he still is not a Hawk...
"February 15, 2004: As part of a 3-team trade, traded by the Atlanta Hawks to the New York Knickerbockers; the Milwaukee Bucks traded Joel Przybilla to the Atlanta Hawks; the New York Knickerbockers traded Michael Doleac and a 2005 2nd round draft pick (Ronny Turiaf) to the Atlanta Hawks; and the New York Knickerbockers traded Keith Van Horn to the Milwaukee Bucks."
How can we go from Turaif and Joel as C and PF back ups to Zaza and Joe Smith. How could BK not see that Nazr, Joel, and Turiaf are great, cheap back up bigs with longevity in NBA. Not saying Nazr was the final piece but he makes three roster spots of Zaza, Randolph, and Collins non essential.
One of BK's early trades...

Considering how many times bk scewed it up I find it extremely amusing when people get nostalgic and try to put him on a pedestal post-mortem.

Joel's stats with the hawks
his time with the hawks wasn't very productive to say the least.
as for turiaf, that pick was sent packing for pedrag drobniak. while in hindsight it wasn't a good trade, at least they made up for it by declining his option and instead signing zaza pachulia.

Turiaf had the heart condition that forced him to sit out the first half of his rookie season, Joel P. did NOT want to re-sign with the Hawks, and Nazr had a contract that he is just now even remotely living up to.

Pryz gave us 4 ppg, 8.4 boards, and 1.4 blks in 26 minutes. For his career he averages 4.2 ppg, 6.5 boards, and 1.6 blks in 20.7 minutes
Nazr has averaged 6.9pg, 5.4 boards, and .70 blks in 18 minutes for his career. This season he is giving 8.2, 5.0, and .80 blks in 16.5 minutes.
I do not see either of them, if you look over their long careers, as late bloomers. Just seems like some years were better than others; but not so much better or worse that your opinions on them would fluctuate to much one way or the other.
