Dream were pitching a literal shutout in that second quarter. 26 unanswered points! It was amazing to watch them rebound and defend, and then keep the Mystics on their heels at the other end. Pesky defense at the perimeter made it difficult for the Mystics' shooters to crawl back in the game with 3's.
Angel was bulldozing her way to the basket in the first half and firing up her teammates from the bench in the second. Izi will need to get a patent for that driving bankshot of hers, it was falling all night. And Sancho was able to get early rest and provide the spark they needed in the second half to seal the deal. Allison Bales was a strong presence that minimalized the need for Erika's rebounding and offense (perhaps the only shortcoming... fouled early and wasn't looked for on many offensive possessions).
They get either New York or defending East champion Indiana in the second round. They had a rougher time with Washington during the regular season than either of those two foes. The possibility of a WNBA Finals game in Atlanta is now very real.

I was very impressed with this playoff series. Remember these ladies were 4 - 30 , just 3 years ago. Now look at them going to the Eastern Conference finals in their 3rd year as an expansion team is pretty impressive.

Congrats to the Dream! That was a better watch than the mess at Turner last night!

I noticed the WNBA are must see games and has to be spread out like the NBA first round as NY and Indy wrapped up the deciding game 3 last night!
