  1. Where is the pride? How do you keep letting teams blow you out, and never seem to really care? Where is the pride in getting your azzes handed to you in the playoffs year in and year out (save for the epic Boston 7 game series)...and NOT do anything about it? Where is the fire when you get punched in the mouth and have to lead your team, Drew? Where is the setting aside of your pride when your jump shots aren't falling? Where is the pride in taking the ball to the paint? Where is the pride when it comes to making an effort on defense and collecting rebounds? Where is the pride in collecting 5 total rebounds between you, Josh and Al? WHERE IS THE DAMN PRIDE?! Or has it been replaced by apathy and a total "I Don't Care Anymore, I'm Paid Anyway" attitude. Because you know, you almost fooled me. You know what? You have no pride. You will make the playoffs, and you will get blown out in the first round. And if you don't, you WILL in the second round. And you know what I will say as a fan? "I don't care anymore. I'm paid anyway." Except this time, I won't be spending some of it on you next season. Now ASG, Go Run Tell Dat!

  2. Management needs to send a signal to these players and fans. The Hawks have collapsed, the ship has sunk. As a team on the court, this is the worst ball we have played in years. Our fans are not supporting our players in our own house, and are chanting MVP for the visiting teams players. It has become clear how important a good head coach in the NBA is. Take Denver for example, they lost Carmelo and the coach is making the best of the quality pieces he got in return. Drew has no clue what he is doing and needs to be shown the door. We are nearing the playoffs and its time for someone else to step in. If Drew is the coach in the playoffs we will be eliminated in the first round. Send a message to the fans and players that this franchise is legit. Can the coach tonight!

  3. I can hear it all now... "Fans, or should I say "friends in this process"...we here at the ASG are committed to winning basketball. When we took over this team, oh those many years ago, we were in disarray and amassed a league low 13 victories. Over this process we've seen constant increases in success levels; incremental at first, but leading all the way up to having home court advantage in the NBA playoffs. Throughout this process there have been ups and downs, but we're in this together, and we're in this for you, the Hawks' fans. Stick with us, we promise to bring you more success on the backs of our highly talented "core" under the leadership of the highly trusted Larry Drew. Stick with us, Stick with this team, we promise we're not trying to sell them out from underneath the city and move them to Las Vegas; so hey, at least you don't have to worry about that... unlike the Thrashers, whom we'd unload for hot dog & some $9 beers court side at our beloved Hawks' games. With you... The fans... The fans that chant M-V-P for opposing players of not 1(Kobe), not 2(Durant), not 3(A'mare), but 4 (D.Rose) different teams' true "Star" players... We gave you a superstar with Joe "5-time All Star Reserve" Johnson, right?" Stick with us... Rick Sund has a 25-year career in the NBA as a GM, no titles or any real accomplishments to speak of, but he's been in the league for TWENTY FIVE years... That means something, believe us, we're almost millionaires. So in closing, with winning comes expectations, and we expect more of you to come out to support our vision, and don't pay attention to what you read about us in the papers, it's all false; except the parts about us being highly competent and really good at what we do. Should you know anyone looking to buy a hockey team please email the ASG group ASAP... Stick with us... Jeff Teague is the future. sincerely, Mikey Gearon Jr. That's about what I expect to hear through all of the PR drivel that I am sure is t-minus a month from being unleashed... Who's next?

  4. If you look at what's going on in the games instead of in the box scores, then you'd see that Hinrich, Zaza, and Teague are the only guys who have consistently played with pride during the past few weeks. Hinrich isn't the problem. He's not even a problem. Hinrich isn't the reason Al is going soft soft, Josh is wandering aimlessly around the perimeter, JJ is turning into Marvin, Jamal is becoming more and more useless, and Drew is either unwilling or unable to stop it. Those are the reasons why we're getting blown out of the water like we have been. There needs to be a shakeup this summer. Hinrich most definitely shouldn't be one of the people we jettison. We need more guys like him, not fewer.

  7. Losses by: 10+ 17 games 15+ 12 games 20+ 7 games 11 games to go. Now let's benchmark: 40-31 Atlanta Hawks 10+ losses: 17 games (55% of losses) 15+ losses: 12 games (39% of losses) 20+ losses: 7 games (23% of losses) 37-34 Houston Rockets 10+ losses: 10 games (29% of losses) 15+ losses: 3 games (9% of losses) 20+ losses:0 games (0% of losses) 28-40 Milwaukee Bucks (out of playoffs as of today) 10+ losses: 18 games (45% of losses) 15+ losses: 6 games (15% of losses) 20+ losses: 2 games (5% of losses) 17-52 Sacramento Kings (2nd worst record in the league) 10+ losses: 23 games (44% of losses) 15+ losses: 14 games (27% of losses) 20+ losses: 9 games (17% of losses) Others can continue this but it is not pretty.

  9. Josh shoots jumpers on 64% of his shots this season and draws zero fouls on those. Even without taking fts into the equation, he is shooting a massive 38.3% fg% from the floor on his jumpers, including 32.6% on his 3pters. Every time he shoots a jumper it means he is not in position to rebound, to post up, to drive, or to go for an alley-oop. How can this be a good thing we are underrating? That will NEVER make someone like Josh a star. Never. Josh will never make the All-Star team with a shooting profile like that. The only way he becomes our star is by getting serious about playing inside. Taking his inside game to the equivalent of a 38.3% jumper isn't going to cut it. Despite the massive increase in his 3pt% (2009-10 0% to 2010-11 32.6%) and massive increase in his free throw % (61.8% in 2009-10 to 73.0% in 2010-11), I think you know his scoring efficiency is exact same as last season (.536 ts% both seasons). What that means is that if Josh just played like he did last season but improved his free throws, he would have put up a career year for his scoring. Instead, he massively improved his free throws and eliminated every bit of that gain by taking crappy jumpers so that it netted out to a big nothing as far his scoring efficiency and netted out to hurt the team with his inability to rebound from the perimeter.

  10. All I know is i'm ready to see Crawford in a suit on the bench. What is this guy doing? He's not in the game 10 seconds and immediately loses his guy for an easy 3 pointer to put the Bulls up 10. No defense and now no offense. We ditched the wrong Crawford.

  11. It's been 7 years. What you see is what you'll get. And what you'll get is a guy who other teams leave wide open on the perimeter but he still can't convert them consistently...and yet he still continues chucking them. The first three months of this season was just the second stretch of his 7-year career where he shot better-than-awful on perimeter jumpers (he had a good stretch at the end of '07-'08 or '08-'09 too, I remember). Since the New Year, he's been regressing to the mean, and this month he's awful again. And if by some miracle he started hitting his jumpers consistently, teams would start guarding him out there. And he'd start bricking them all over again. In any case, don't talk as if Josh is some young malleable rookie. He's a 7 year vet. He's not going to wake up tomorrow and have a consistent jumper.

  16. 0 points last night. 5 against the Heat. 9 against the Nuggets? 4 Assist per game? 7 points per game? We were getting this from Bibby. The honeymoon is over, and he has to share some of the blame. He isn't a playmaker, and isn't even a better shooter than Bibby. The last time I checked Derrick Rose destoryed us last night. Don't talk about the system either. If LD wasn't going to give him a chance to play his system we should have never traded for him. I'm starting to think the trade wasn't a lateral move. It was a gravity pulling us to Earth at the speed of light move. We lose Bibby, who I think is just as good, Mo Evans, who we could all get a good laugh at, our draft pick which will probably be the 17th, 18th pick, and JC2 a legit scorer for Another bum and Kirk Hinrich. Sorry, I said all along this wasn't the trade we needed to make, and a few weeks later its clear we aren't any better.

  19. I don't think any coach alive or dead could reach Josh Smith. He's had enablers his whole life and its shows in his play. He still lacks fundamental skills such as dribbling with both hands, being able to do a chest pass, proper footwork in the post on both offense and defense, etc. He found a shooting coach over the summer that told him to ignore any criticism and just keep shooting. He will never "get it" and do what everyone around him keeps repeating: get in the low post, learn fundamentals, STOP SHOOTING OUTSIDE JUMPERS, attack the basket to get to the free throw line. This guy has been in the NBA for seven years now. He's not changing folk. You can bring any coach in the world in that gym and he's still not changing .

  20. J Smoove is one of the most talented players in the league. He has never had a coach who has the guts to put him in check/went about it the right way. J Smoove is like Ron Artest. Everyone said Ron Artest was uncoachable but a great talent waiting to be unleashed. As soon as he arrived in LA, Jackson put him in check. We need someone to do that with Smoove. We can't dump him, anyone who logically wants to move Smoove is crazy. He is extremely talented, his attitude needs to be adjusted but other than that I want him on this team for a while. JJ has really struggled this year. I'm not sure if it's because of his elbow of because he made bank, but lets be realistic, no team will pick up that salary. He is turning into the Mike Hampton of NBA. Hinrich hasn't done anything to prove himself as a fit with the players. He is a solid player but I'm not really so impressed with him to be honest. The bottom line is, that right now the Hawks don't have a head coach. We have an assitant coach who is trying to be the head coach of the team and doesn't know what he's doing.

  21. After tonite the only thing I feel like rooting for is for them to drop to 7th so we will get Boston in the first round. That way I can sell my tickets for the most money and then "I'm paid ... $cha ching$!!!" Then I can look forward to some real ball when the Dream starts this summer. Now there's a team and a coach with real balls!

  22. 'Well, if there was more interest from the fans to buy our tickets, we would get those kind of players worth chanting MVP. We all know that in order to have a great team, you must have blind loyalty from the fans first. They have to prove that they are worthy enough to warrant our attention by selling out, say, 300 games in a row or something close to that. Then, and only then do we step in and attempt to improve the product, while raising the price on everything from tickets to parking to concessions.'-Micheal Gearon Just a hunch...

  24. It must go deeper than the head coach this time around. Everyone associated with coaching and player development on this team must go. Bob Bender, Lester Conner, Kenny Gattison, Tyrone Hill, must go. No one has any answers when, as Conner, says, the team just didn't show up to play today. Nick Van Exel must go. There's no need to have a player development instructor for players who won't develop. Greg Ballard, Mark Crow, Ron Meikle, Stephen Giles, Lojze Miloslavljevic, whoever brought us Pape Sy, must go Wally Blase, Pete Radulovic, Chattin Hill must go. The chef frying Smoove's tilapia sandwiches must go. This is the house cleaning that should have happened last May. ~lw3

  25. I hope I don't get -1 for this from everyone but guys ... Its not like anyone shows up to the games anyways ... The elite teams in the NBA have a packed stadium even if they are playing a terrible team ... We have horrible attendance and we have 2 players that get extremely pumped up from the crowd (al and smoove) ... I don't mean to be bashing everyone .. It's just that we have terrible attendance

  26. The thing is a coach isn't the full answer josh has to want it himself. A coach isn't going to go into his brain and switch the way his neurons fire. Josh has to want it too.that's what makes a superstar. All he seems to want is to shoot jumpers and eat.

  31. We'll still have the same owners, but yes, a new coach would be great. But before I go on saying anymore, I'll wait till the end of playoffs. Playoffs will tell you a lot about a coach and what not. He might prove us all wrong, but that's me just being optimistic. Let's hope for the best, and forget the rest.

  34. At the time it happened, I was in favor of the trade, but now I am not so sure? Here are my reasons: 1) No more alley-oops for Smith. Bibby was the only one who seemed to know how & when to set up Smith for those jams that now seem like distant memories. 2) Bibby was more clutch from 3 point land when needed. Hinrich seems more hit or miss. 3) I don't see a huge difference on defense. Bibby wasn't as quick, but used his "smarts". Hinrich gets beat by quick guards just like Bibby did. I am really not that impressed with Hinrich's D to be honest. It just seems "average" to me. 4) Hinrich doesn't have the court leadership skills that Bibby has. Bibby used to get in Josh's face now and then when Josh played stupid. Hinrich just stands there with that WTF look. 5) Bibby ran the pick & roll to perfection with Horford. Horford's production seems to have tailed off noticeably since Bibby left. In the end, did we need an upgrade at PG?....Yes. Did we really get it? Not really.

  36. "Trading for Hinrich" is still good move. We'd still be getting beasted twice a week, and as awful as morale is now, we'd be screaming about how "we stood pat while Miami went put and upgraded their PG spot with Kirk Hinrich!" or somebody. Now whether we gave up too much in the deal is a whole other show. Kirk's "average" D is still eons better than the Bibster's orange-cone approach. The thing with Bibby is he accommodated (as best he could) for the rest of the team's collective shortcomings on offense, and in turn the team accommodated him (as best they could) for his shortcomings on defense. Now that the codependency is gone the team is struggling to readjust. As far as shooting goes, it's worth noting that Hinrich is shooting 46.5% on 3.3 FGAs per game through 13 contests. With either LeBron or D-Wade getting drawing extra defenders away from the perimeter, Bibby's giving the Heat 45.7% on 3.5 FGA per game through 10 games. For what was Bibby's saving grace, Kirk is giving us that at least. ~lw3

  39. 2007-08 isn't the perfect choice because we underachieved in the regular season but I guess I'll take a subpar regular season and uplifting post-season over last year's overachieving regular season and deflating post-season.

If the police are getting that involved with fashion, why not harass people with holes in their jeans or who wear a jersey of a team you don't like ?

  42. A PG has no role on this team because we don't have an offense. Bibby was hardly a PG but a good 3-point shooter. With players as selfish as Jamal, as passive as Joe, as dumb as Josh, as horrible as Marvin, you might as well not even try. I know that's very cynical and I'm normally not that way, but it's getting ridiculous.

  43. It's time time to purge the whole woodson treeline. I can't respect a coach to have yet been kicked out of a game perhaps of having the assistant doing a better job. Drew only has one tech foul called, you can't get any respect from refs that way, bobby cox is just rolling in his grave.

  45. I said it before and I'll say it again; this is the biggest 'show me' town in America. When your idiot GM is telling the world how much smarter he is than everyone else like BK did, you aren't going to endear yourself to a lot of fans. When your current GM talks about the team being elite right after getting Rick-rolled in the playoffs, you aren't going to endear yourself to a lot of fans. And when the teams in your conference are loading up with real players while ours are sifting in the landfills for scraps, well, I hope you get the point. I don't blame the fans one bit for finding something else to do with their $$$. This is big-boy sports and this team has already checked out on the season and waiting on their vacation passes to come back from their travel agents. Pay my hard-earned $$$ on that? No thanks...

Smoove will revert to being a little cissy crybaby. Horf will disappear. Joe will struggle with the Tom Tibbadeau double team. Marvin will be standing there thinking about what he will buy with his next check.. a power ranger or a rugrat Bookbag. Our only hope is that if Boozer plays. Boozer is softer than our Hawks!
