  2. C'mon now everybody admit it - you were saying "Why the hell did Jeff pass the ball to Josh?" until the ball went in the hoop? A guy who is shooting what 40%+ from three passing to a guy shooting <10%?

  3. I had to chime in on that one after the asinine discussion of several Smoove trade for Pierce or Garnett. Wishful thinking on their part.

  4. 1. I can't be certain, but the Sixers game gives me a clue. 2. I definitely think it's plausible. I think we lost to CHI last season largely because we hit a psychological wall and because of their bench. We've closed both of those gaps already. After Hinrich returns, I still say, pick up a big like Przybilla. If we can't get a back-to-the-basket scorer, the next best thing is a legit C who can rebound. If we can keep away from any further long-term injuries, I like our chances.

  5. Anderson Varejao: 1-for-6, 3 points, 9 rebounds, -23 plus-minus Andrew Bogut: 3-for-10, 6 points, 12 rebounds, Goose Egg plus-minus Zaza, aggressive and undaunted, is helping to make this happen. Centers like this were supposed to be feasting and beasting without Horford around to throw these guys off their game. Love seeing Zaza attacking the glass and diving on the floor for loose balls. I can't stand that "energy" word being thrown around, but Zaza has been embodying that during the last few victories. ~lw3

  6. INDEED! THAT'S THE BEST 4TH I'VE SEEN FROM JOE AS A HAWK..HE WAS POISED,HE STAYED WITHIN HIMSELF AND DELIVERED FOR THE HAWKS WHEN IT COUNTED MOST!

  8. Hello to all, just want to introduce myself and say that for a long time now I have enjoyed reading you guys thoughts about our Hawks. I've been a die hard hawks fan and fan of all Atlanta/Georgia sports since birth. It only makes since to me to root for the home team, right? Unlike many in this city that I love so much. I look forward to sharing my thoughts and seeing who agrees or disagrees with me and mainly debating about our own Mr. Josh Smith.

  9. Just have to say that Jeff is doing a terrific job imo. He's basically a first year player due to this being the first time he's gotten consistent minutes. He makes mistakes a times, but I can see his confidence growing game by game. I think the other players need to start trusting him a little more with the ball as his decision making improves. Even though he's a scoring point guard, he's really unselfish. Great job Jeff.

  10. Am I the only one that questions why in the world we waited so long to give Teague minute? I remember as a rookie he put up some crazy numbers at the end of the year for us against Cleveland when they still had a team and then he mysteriously went right back to riding the pine again. Woodson and LD have retarded his growth and frankly if it wasn't for Jeff stepping up in the Chicago playoff series last season we all know he'd harldy get playing time this season. So yes, I'm very glad a guy we all so much promise in as a rookie is finally getting the minutes to show he's a starting calibre N

  11. Funny how this dude is always saving the Hawks hide. Now Joe did his part but Josh made some huge shots in the fourth last night. I love how Nique waits until Josh drains a J to comment. Had Josh missed one of those jumpers in the 4th Nique would said “Now that’s not the shot you wanna take.”

  12. That was the ISOJOE from 3 years ago that everyone would hate on woody for.. I have to say, i was pleased to see it back because he can get any shot he wants to and will make it once he gets in the paint.

  13. That would be very interesting and I would expect it would help increase Marvins production if he were playing with the 2nd unit. But we'd get smaller and Joe would have to guard bigger players than he's been guarding and Hinrich would guard bigger players than he should be guarding so I'd be worried about the physical toll it will take on them. I trust LD to make the right decision though and I'm excited to see Hinrich back in the lineup Wednesday night! I will say this, if they cut Pargo while keeping Sloan and Stackhouse I'm going to be pissed!

  14. I have to question how long some of the people on this site have been following the team. Zaza used to be our starting center and he's a solid 11/7 center when he gets the minutes and shots. He's not really doing anything now that he hasn't brought to the dance before. He's an energy big guy who plays hard, gobbles offensive rebounds and makes up for a complete lack of shotblocking ability with attitude and energy.

  15. I like how his shot never touches the net. Sometimes it doesn’t touch anything (net, rim, goal) but most times it comes down like a feather in the wind.

  17. Just a thought but you could go in the chat room and click the "History" link and then you can go back and view the comments from the entire game and you're sure to get all of the bullet points and then some.

  18. Is he the more complete player? I don't know if that's the best description because he's so damn erratic. But he is the most productive and he also has more impact on the game. What's scary is that he really does have the potential to do even more in both aspects. Here's my thing with Smoove.... He's a solid 10 rebounds per game without even trying. That's almost good enough for top 10 in the NBA. Get him to focus on positioning, boxing out, playing closer to the basket...crashing the boards... He's a solid 15 points per game. Get him closer to the rim for more inside scoring and

  19. No, Teague is the improved player on the team and he is not even in talks for MIP of the league.

  20. I like how Zaza has been goin to the offensive glass but he also need to do a better job of finding a body and boxing out on the defensive boards..The bucks got way too many offensive rebounds because of our bigs standing lookin at the rim instead of finding a body..and then another thing that Zaza need to do is stop squatting down tryin to power up when he gets an offensive rebound and jus keep the ball high and go straight back up..He blows so many put back opportunities with squatting down and taking a meaningless power bounce where he jus flings his body into the defender and get his shot

  21. Zaza brings it every game. Diving, hustling, rebounding, fighting. No wonder why he is one of the fan favorites. Keep it up Zaza, you're doing great. This is Zaza:

  22. I'm not sure about others, but I'll never take the argument that Josh can't win a game shooting open jumpers. My position is merely that he will win more games destroying teams in the paint and on the boards than by taking the wide open jumpers the opposition wants him to take. He will absolutely have games where he hits those shots. While I'd rather he wasn't intent on taking them, I am always much happier to see them go in.

  27. The other problem with trading Al is his BYC-ness for the next year. Nah... trading Horford isn't even a remotely appealing thing to me. Hinrich merits only a maybe.

  28. Amen brother. I can interpret that for you though: Please overlook that we pooped on the Hawks all preseason and don't try to figure out why we insist the Hawks aren't as good as they really are. They are 5-1 without the one player we respect, their defense is good, and their coach is out-coaching people who make 10 times what he does. Trust us, this isn't really happening.

  29. Disclaimer: Some are saying it's only been a few games. While I agree, I think that in Horford's absence, certain players are forced to step up. Mainly our "Big 3". JJ, Teague, and Smoove - none of these guys have a problem scoring. A jumper from Al is just as good as a Teague penetration, JJ anything, or Smove inside (he's actually looking better on his moves to the rim). Certainly, we are a better team with these guys. But that much better? Horf goes out the 1st quarter against Indiana - we outscore them in the 2nd. Only down a basket by halftime. We held them to 16 points in the
