  1. “Psst… Trae! C'mere. You ever heard of Henny Youngman?” Here’s all I’ve got, ahead of today’s game between our host Atlanta Hawks and the Denver Nuggets (7:30 PM Eastern, Fox Sports Southeast and 92.9 FM in ATL, Altitude TV in DEN). Keep That Woman and That Family far, far away from All-Star Sunday in Atlanta. And, from Oklahoma. On any off-day before or after the break. Yes, Kougar Kim, this means y’all. Hawks fans, when was the last time you thought of Kris Humphries? It’s probably been more than 72 days, right? Exactly. Chandler Parsons thought he was in the clear

  2. Nuggs' Game Thread (https://www.nba.com/gamenotes/nuggets.pdf) has Uncle Paul still sitting this one out (sprained knee). Also out is backup JaMychal Green, who injured his shoulder not even two minutes into Wednesday's loss in Washington (Denver also lost on Tuesday in Boston, 105-99), and missed out on Jamal's 50-burger in Cleveland. Murray and near-30-year-old "rookie" Facundo Campazzo are stepping up also because the Nuggs are missing guards P.J. Dozier and Gary Harris, leaving Denver without four of their top nine minute-loggers. ~lw3

  3. Lots of people on this site called out Trae for his share of blame for our bad d last year.

  4. I might never complain about the sad generic state of jerseys in ATL again. Stealing someone else's line... "Now you know how Bill Walton sees every game."

  5. He really has a slow first step. He could improve as a ball handler and still be limited due to his lack of first step. So much of his offensive impact is based on space and explosiveness. His frame has peaked. He kinda is what he is. I am pretty sure we all wanted Cliff Robinson to gain weight and when he did, it was just bad weight. He peaked based on his frame.

  6. I'll say this about Hunter. If the Hawks show no signs of life through March, and we're barely in the hunt for that 10th playoff position playoff game . . I would not be mad if we shut Hunter down for the rest of the season. If we are in 8th, with a chance to move up to 6th, then you bring him back.

  7. Drummond is trash tho.

  8. Yeah. I don't get where Beal doesn't get blame for the Wizards sucking. Trae got so much blame for the Hawks sucking and he was only in his second year and playing with a lot of rookies. Beal is a vet who's supposed to be a top 10 player in the league but can't even get his team out of the basement.

  9. I'd like a warning message above the fold if you're including Thaddeus Young in hawk trade proposals. Even if it's just a split second my heart can't take seeing T. Young > Magic.

  10. This is where we are: Dunn - Surgery December 29th: last update Feb 17th....PRP injection - it'll be 8 weeks since his surgery coming up this Tuesday. Bogi - Injured January 9th: last update Feb 6th....we should have an update today - it was 6 weeks since injury yesterday. Hunter - Surgery February 8th: last update Feb 17th.....progressing to weight bearing and strengthening - it'll be 2 weeks since surgery tomorrow. Rondo- Back injury and not much else.

  11. Seriously what's up with Rondo? Is he a lemon or are we shutting him down ahead of the trade deadline? I've never seen a guy with no actual injury miss so many games. It would also be very nice to get an update on Bogi. Seems the focus just shifted to Hunter and they stopped providing any information about Bogi.

  12. Why not? Maybe if he guarded his man instead of hunting offense, they'd be better. Agree the deck is stacked against him, but he's no innocent bystander either.

  13. I'll pass on Drummond. How about this guy? My guess is he goes back to LAL with AD out 4 week

  14. Yeah I know you were talking Miami Bosh. when you called him the 3rd option. Miami Bosh simply had to do his job, and make timely buckets when open. Miami Bosh was a great complimentary teammate. Maybe that is Collins' future in this league. Toronto Bosh is what got him paid though. Toronto Bosh had all of the offensive tools. Hopefully for Collins, his team have their eyes wide open on who will be willing to pay big money to get him. I don't know if that list is as large as he think it is.

  15. Yes it was them against us and I laughed about Stevens on the other board. He was hoping to give Kemba, Brown, Theis, and Thompson the rest of the night off. With bench players it almost always has to do with who they are playing against. The exception is when they are tossed in with the starting unit. What I like about Mays is he appears to be able to shoot. Open threes work no matter who he is playing against. And the Hawks need all that they can get right now.

  16. Brandon only played in the first 5:19 minutes of the 4th, and the Hawks were +11. That's not a ton of minutes, seeing that he normally was playing in both halves ( until the coaching staff started giving Skylar Mays a shot ). He took a grand total of 1 shot. It was Hill, Snell, and Capela that was doing the work on offense. Brandon simply did his job on defense. http://popcornmachine.net/gf?date=20210219&game=ATLBOS The trend for Brandon all year, is that the team normally doesn't play horribly when he's in the game. Not saying that it hasn't happened, because it has.

  17. After watching most of the game last night I have concluded, we are not very good. A new, different coach can not change this fact. Defensively, Hawks are just a step slow. Offensively, if our shots are falling, we are fine. If they don't fall, we are trash. Last night in Boston is a prime example. When the game began, Celtics made things easy for themselves and scored a lot of points. Hawks, on the other hand, shot and shot and didn't score. Collins looked terrible. Huerter looked terrible. Gallinari looked terrible. Reddish looked terrible. With their full startin

  18. If we had more National TV games, Trae would've been a starter imo.

  19. I don't care if Trae is an AllStar. If he's not there, I won't be watching that sh*tshow anyway. What Trae and the Hawks can do is go out and win! Get to the playoffs and make some noise! I still have a lot of hope for this season. When Hunter and Bogi get back, Dunn, hopefully starts, and Huerter and Cam getting much needed experience, this team could be completely different for the playoffs. I just need them to all get back with about 20 or so games left in the season to get into a rhythm and then the Hawks can make a run.
