  3. “Nice. But what does THAT have to do with anything?” The Parliament of Great Britain was obsessed with tea, and not only in the late afternoons. Desperate to save the floundering British East India Company and its stockpiles of leafy product, the Brits sought to apply a duty to tea supplies illicitly smuggled overseas into its North American colonies by the Dutch. This was in the year 1773. Taxation without representation, it turns out, was not a compelling sell for dear old John Bull. While fumbling away the Americas, England’s brand of manifest Western imperialism

  4. I just want to remind all of the detractors that "lack of size and defense" were the main reasons we decided to pass on Chris Paul in favor of Marvin Williams. 15 years later, he we are nitpicking Trae's D and ignoring his offensive and overall impact. I would also like to point out that whether you use defensive win shares or defensive rating, Trae is far from the worst defensive player in the league. Or at his position. He is better statistically than some of the guys people would replace him with: Morant, SGA, Llilard, Ball, Fox, Kyrie, Lowery, Harden, Beal.... I mean its a who's

  5. Expect rumors to start flying on the Hawks very soon. Snell has gotten serious interest but there are salary match issues. Do not be surprised if he's moved in a 3 team deal. His value has risen to a low first plus filler. Lots of teams calling on Collins. Hawks are politely listening but are loathe to do anything with him in the middle of a playoff run. Teams are calling on Cam thinking we are now soft on him. Do not expect anything here but rumors will be rumors. Teams are calling on Huerter and offering real value, but he is playing his way into a permanent role

  6. The Hawks are best with everyone. Don’t start this Trae bs people. Just enjoy the win, we are just learning how to operate a tank IF guys happen to miss games. Nothin wrong with that. Trae is a top 15 player in the league, don’t play.

  7. Coaching won this game. Nate was attacking Robinson in the 4th quarter. Love to see those adjustments. Bogi - Fantastic pick up. He played a great game. Kevin - Again, he's the 19th pick in the draft. He's playing MUCH better defense. He's getting more consistent. I'd love to see where he is in a few years. John - Played a great game. He is still isn't 100% in rhythm, but it's big to have him back. OO - Great game from the young guy. He fouled alot but played hard. Solomon Hill - We moaned about him in the beginning of the season, but he's been more than solid

  8. I wasn’t a full-fledged Lloyd Hater, had my doubts no question, but shout out to all that were. That man was legit losing us games. Nates defensive system and his personality translates so much more than anything Lloyd could offer. Nate is winning games without key players thay Lloyd couldn’t dream of winning, Lloyd lost games with healthy units that Nate wouldn’t dare.

  10. Thank you for being the leader and man you are. We live in a world where tough decisions have to be made. Regardless, thank you for being the coach of my Atlanta Hawks. Keep your head up and continue to prepare for your next head coaching gig.

  11. Going by all these positive comments after an L, I gotta say, our young guys aren't the only ones growing! Squawkers maturing before our very eyes. Give yourselves a pat on the back, you deserve it!

  16. Reading a few comments I'm getting the feeling Clint's season is not only underrated by everyone outside of Atlanta, but even by a few of our fans. So here is a little comparison just to get a little understanding about what big Cap has done this year. Here are Clint's stats per 36 mins on the season - 18ppg - 17rpg - 2.7bpg - 1.5tov - 60%fg - .61%TS Here is Dwight Howards DPOY season, where he was runner up MVP 20.7ppg - 13.5rpb - 2.9bpg - 3.1tov - 61%fg - 61%TS Here is Dikembe's best season of his career 11.4ppg - 14rpb - 3.2bpg - 2.1tov - 56%fg - 62%ts

  18. I think he was a victim of his own success there. He got his teams to overachieve in the regular season to the point that people were unsatisfied with the playoff performances. Unrealistic view of their own team’s talent.

  19. Can we please drop our agendas, it’s not about us and whether or not we are right or wrong but rather our team. I read through like 20 pages of the game thread last night and it was less about our team winning and more about which posters are right and wrong. I’m guilty as well I won’t say I’m not but let’s me more TEAM than ME. We all love the Hawks. Trae scores 2 or 50 I don’t care if we W. Collins plays well or not, if we W. Etc. Reminded me of old Mad tv and the Stuart files.

  20. Wow, what a game... Trae's most impressive stat for me tonight was a 4 assist:turnover ratio. When he is locked in and not making lazy TOs, we're so dangerous. BOGI BOGI BOGI!!! To add to the first point, when Bogi is playing like this, it opens up Trae's game so much. The past 10 games of Bogi is why I was pumped when we signed him despite the aggressive contract Capela is such an anchor for this team... the guy is worth more than what he's getting paid right now and I think even when he gets praise we underestimate his value. Half a season of Capela and my PTSD from wat

  22. A word on Huerter as a teammate. In the Bulls' heyday, players marveled at the assignments Dennis Rodman would volunteer for. Rodman would stay after practice with players who wanted shooting reps...even free throws and volunteer to shag balls. Rodman would ask shooters to stay after just so he could practice rebounding. He obsessed over it, to the point they said he could call if a shot was going in the second it left a shooter's hand. Rodman worked on boxing out alone. He would watch film for tendencies on players and position himself to easier box that player out. He was a craft guy.

  23. Good morning Hawks fans!! I had a dream the Hawks absolutely torched the Bulls in a blowout win (over by half time) and Trae looked like a hybrid of peak Curry/Nash, the sophomores played like NBA starters with a lot of room to get better, and the free agents we picked up were actual NBA players that contributed to our win. Did anyone catch the game last night?

  24. I want everyone to give their props to Brandon Goodwin today. 17 points, 8 assists, and 5 rebounds. Just a month a go we were all wanting him to get waived, and now he stepped up big time for us. I love it.

  27. First of all, his Pacer and Blazer teams never lost a series they were favored to win. Taking low-talent rosters to the playoffs then losing to the more talented team shouldn't be seen as big as a negative as it apparently is. Were folks expecting a lOladipo-led Pacers team to oust the Lebron-led Cavaliers? That they took them to 7 games should be seen as a positive, not a negative. Was a team "led" by injured-lOladipo and injured-Sabonis supposed to advance in the playoffs last year? What is this sliding scale his accomplishments are being judged on? The mental gymnastics Pacer

  30. I was openly against Trae Young when he was drafted and into his first season. I wanted Doncic and while I think he may be an MVP before too long, Trae was brilliant last night. I don’t watch the Hawks often, but I did last night and I was impressed! I know it’s a single game against bad team, but Trae was dominant. He’s a special player and I was totally wrong about him. My dinner for Christmas is some southern fried crow!

  35. Best part of this game for me? Shutting up the INSUFFERABLE Pheonix commentators. Wow were they smug to begin the game, complained all game and talked trash about how Trae draws foul. 40 minutes later and the Hawks blow out their pretender squad by 30+ despite being outshot from the free throw line by 2-1.
