  1. The names listed thus far are all since 1980. GT has had a few good ones prior to 1980 such as Roger Kaiser, Rich Yunkus and Sammy Drummer to name a few.
  2. Publix has some of the best flavored wings in the metro ATL area. Their Lemon Pepper and Spicy Gold can satisfy a wing craving like no other place. The best part about the Publix wings are the size of them. The come off of chickens not biddy's,
  3. Around 1976, the start of the Hubie Brown era.
  4. This was likely posted years ago but I came across this YouTube video of The Dikembe Mutombo Song with Jimmy Kimmel and Aloe Blacc. Hopefully it will make you smile while thinking about Dikembe
  5. Rathbun's on air medical emergency was mentioned on Good Morning America today (12/7). Glad to hear he is doing better. You can see the clip at: https://www.goodmorningamerica.com/news/video/sports-commentator-suffers-air-medical-emergency-94676333
  6. AJC Article about this story: https://www.ajc.com/sports/atlanta-hawks/remembering-the-life-of-former-hawks-gm-part-owner-michael-gearon-sr/UJDSR6CWRRBXDMISKP22KV7H2U/
  7. When will we likely hear his status of the Dallas game? I hope that his knee is getting better. Perhaps he may need 'load management' with back to back games.
  8. If the type of media were the same, I'd have to give the nod to Nique. Remember, he went to uGA so that automatically brought a legion of fans that might not normally be interested in pro basketball. His acrobatic and ferocious dunks early in his career were very exciting to watch. As his skills evolved in developing a reliable jumpshot, he became the superstar and Hall of Famer that we came to love. It is still early for Trae. He has already done something that Nique did not accomplish, taking the team to the conference finals. Trae has the potential to be an even bigger star, especially if the team can continue to play at this level and they win the Finals.
  9. You are more than a 'RandomFan' to know the pick before it was announced. Who are you and what insight did you have?

    Dwight??

Would he be willing to be the 3rd center and at what price? Those will always be the questions to ask.
  11. Al Wood , 4th pick in the 1981 draft for the Hawks. He dated my wife while they were in high school and broke up with her when he went to UNC (the right thing to do). Definitely worked out for me after 34+ years of marriage but I'd like to beat him and tell him I am happily married to his high school sweetheart.
  12. Len is intriguing given he played here before. He struggled as a starter however did OK playing against the 2nd and 3rd string for the other team. He can also be a threat with the 3 point shot which adds to his value. He is only 28 so the question for him is whether he is willing to be the 3rd center on a team at this stage in his career. McGee fits the profile of what a 3rd center could be and at the right price. I like Lopez however not sure if he is willing to take a big discount at this time
  13. I'd like to see McMillan throw multiple people on Randle while they are on offense. By that I mean switch combinations of Collins, Hunter and Solo (he did a decent job slowing Randle down in the last game and gives you additional fouls). I don't want Randle or Rose to beat us so if we need to double either from time to time to get the ball out of their hands, do so if their play dictates it. On our offensive side, let's get Collins and Capela involved early through the PnR game. If this happens, this can open up the outside shooting game for Trae, Bogi, Huerter and Hunter. Get the Knicks in a situation where they are guessing while on defense then take what they give you. Will also need the 2nd unit to play strong also, both on offense and defense. We can win this series!
  14. I hope that we can stay healthy during this busy stretch of games.
  15. I think it is too early in the season to define this game as a 'litmus test'. This is the first of several back to back games for the Hawks this season. Ask this question after 20 games and we'll probably have a better idea how the Hawks will do with these opportunities.
  16. AJC Article - Kris Dunn to undergo arthroscopic surgery on ankle (ajc.com)
  17. Excellent article. Must read for fans of John Collins.
  18. If we were to look to acquire him, we would probably need to trade/waive an existing player to free up a roster spot. That said, would we still be obligated for the $13M salary or would that fall to DET to pay most of it?
  19. I have always liked Rodney Hood going back to his days at Duke. As an off the bench scorer, he could add value if healthy. I only question his defensive abilities.
  20. Given what we've seen recently from Kentucky players that went to the NBA, he may be worth the investment.

    Ask Supes

I think it is acknowledged that big men may take longer to develop. Are there are big men that are 'on the cusp' that may be available and that might be a good fit for the Hawks?
