  1. What's up Diesel? Been a long time! We might win one game on rebounds alone. Who guards LeBron?
  2. Blowing things up rarely works in any sport. Certainly didn't work when the Hawks did it a decade and a half ago. It's the easy way out for ownership, management and fans. Even though there is no proven record of it working consistently, it sounds good and allows for a less pressured environment. That doesn't work for me as a fan. If you have the money, spend it and try to win every game possible, every year.
  3. Yeah, that's new to me. A mod must have cleared it up for people that don't understand English or how "Breaking News" works!
  4. Most likely VERY far behind! I was actually like, maybe the biggest Smoove fan of the old era Hawksquawk forum. It's a long story. Sadly, I get what Hawkmoor said about sending a message to future FA by signing Dwight.
  5. No worries. Is the general consensus that he is a last resort necessity or something? Seems Bazemore may sign with Rockets and take Horford with him now.
  6. Thx... I think! I stopped posting years ago and I've thought about coming back for a while now. Had to start somewhere. Hating on Dwight Howard is a perfect choice for anyone that remembers me!
  7. Virtually pimped. Wow. I thought I knew where the floor of internet lame was. Guess not. Get a life man, really. I really don't care about how much you have already talked about it. Move along if you don't want to talk about it with someone who was here long before you. I know about this forum, bro. lol
  8. More like accurate punctuation. First off, you should trust reliable sources for information about signings, not a poster on a message board who you do not even know. Second, if you do, understand the difference between "Howard a Hawk?" and "Howard a Hawk!". It's really not that hard.
  9. Come on Bird_Dirt. Can anyone hear read anymore? There is a ? right there at the end! I have made one post in like 7 years and I'm just posing a question. You're acting like I'm trolling. I do appreciate being compare to the Master, though!
  10. Korver would be more effective if he could maximize his effort in limited minutes. Nobody beats Father Time.
  11. Hawkmoor, is that supposed to be funny? Dwight Howard sucks so hard... and has for so long. How does getting a chump with no offensive game and lack of desire to do anything but be on the floor and shoot when he shouldn't, help a team like the Hawks?
  12. I just don't understand it. Are the Hawks seriously considering this? This is a video game move.
  13. How do you post on the interweb again? Am I doing this right?
  14. I guess it was the comeback win against Woodie last night, watching my first game in a month, or maybe the guilt that I did not know we had lost eight straight, but I woke up and thought I would check out the 'squawk today. I now see that Diesel is gone and Ex is a Wizards fan(doesn't surprise me) and gone as well. Wow! So much has changed but I also see there are still a lot of the old guys around. I am really happy to see where Hawksquawk is. You have done an excellent job, Dolfan! It really is amazing. Just realized it has been over four years since I have posted. Too busy to put so much energy into the Hawks, sad to say. I love the direction of the team though. We will get there one day... Still waiting for a new owner, but that will happen. I am still into politics but I don't feel the need to yell at brick walls anymore. Still think Woody is the worst coach of all time, or at least in the discussion. Last night did nothing to change that. A big "what's up?" to AHF, GSU, DJLaysitup and plenty of others I am forgetting right now. I hope everyone is doing well. Go Hawks!
  15. This type of ignorant, self righteous post, is why I rarely visit this site anymore. The fifth sentence, if you can call it that, makes no sense. Better life without what was important, etc? Then, the unabashedly arrogant comment about most christians knowing the power of overcoming adversity. Like no one else on earth ever has, you know? And who cares about these people that prayed for Mike Vick? Personally, I've got a lot better things to do, and if you pray, you've got a lot more important things to pray about. And then, you have the nerve yo say that Eddie's comments are hate and envy filled, even to the point of being worse than the only partial list of things Vick has done, that AHF laid out for you. This is just the most incredible though. Yeah, he was framed. And he admitted to something he never did. But that would be at odds with your "story" of redemption, wouldn't it? Which is it? A man who redeems himself or someone who maybe didn't do "what we say he did"? Really, who needs to find a clue? After all that he has done, to celebrate the man at a Falcons game, is truly disrespectful to any true Atlantan or Atlanta Falcons fan, as well as the Falcons organization and decent human nature in general. It is what it is, and it's not worth celebrating, if you're a thoughtful, respectful, decent person, that is.
  16. And you're ignoring 20 years! I'm not ignoring anything. His stuff is fine. If you don't want to take my word, you should take Bobby's. He just needed to work out location. Which, I think, he has. Also, the al east is only the best offensive division on the planet. It's disingenuous to suggest he can't pitch well against the rest of the league.
  17. I do think the Sox were stupid with the money they have to burn, as illustrated by their attempted acquisition of Billy Wagner. It was just a matter of Smoltz getting his location down. It doesn't imply he is "back". And I'm not playing games. It's simple. He is not, nor ever will be again, the pitcher he was, but he can still be very effective. That has virtually nothing to do with the point I was making about Smoltz being able to strike out 7 in a row. That is a much larger, baseball oriented discussion that we can perhaps go into another time. As for this instance in a vacuum, it shows that Smoltz can still locate and has the velocity to make guys swing and miss. You really aren't trying to say that ability isn't coveted, or not a positive indicator, are you? Correlation. lol. Actually more of a silent grin. Who's playing games here? I think you are. It does mean that "all of a sudden" he was effective on that day. Very effective. That's all I'm saying. Heck, I practically hate the guy now anyway, but I've watched him pitch for 20 years, Hawksfanatic. I'm just saying he can still pitch, regardless of what your analysis of any data might show. A "typical poster" would have probably understood that. Geez.
  18. Kill Bill 1 or 2? They both had great moments. I'll say the first one was a much better movie, though. And the fight scene with Uma and Lucy was just beautiful on a couple of levels. Most of the beauty in Tarantino films is subtle. Humor, too. Funny thing, though. I think my favorite movie of his is True Romance. He wrote it, but his ending would have sucked. He wanted Slater to die. That's one where the studio execs definitely made the right choice.
  19. I think you would like Grindhouse. It's really fun. Really, give it a try. Forget the deathcar part. The zombie movie is just too cool, though. I actually have a mutual friend of one of the babysitter chicks in the movie. Got to meet her at a party recently. This Venezuelan chick named Electra. She's actually just as ditzy as the character, though!
  20. Yeah, after he left Atlanta, a house he owned, that his friends lived in, had pounds of weed recovered from a bust there. As for Beasley, the ugly tats are far worse than the hair, imo.
  21. That's funny. I could only add that he's not exactly Big Ballin' with those two dime bags. He's in the NBA. Jason Terry had a whole house full of it!
  22. I agree. Scenario A is more likely to happen because scenario B is a dream that isn't going to happen. But let's hope no one gets hurt, except Mike Woodson. Some sort of pelvic or hip problem would take him off the sideline for sure, right? JK, but I would not be upset!
  23. I don't know what "back" means in this regard, but he can be effective. I don't know that he ever struck out 7 in a row for us. And how can you put pitcher's park against him? Do you know how many warning track shots were hit? I don't think any were. Last time I checked, when you strike out, it doesn't matter if it's a T-ball field.
  24. No, Frank Wren didn't exactly get it right. But I did. He struck out 7 in a row today and is poised to get the win as I type this. He can still really pitch and the Sox are effing stupid. They had the money. Just wait till he gets right. Horrible decision by the Sox. I'm glad Wren let Smoltz walk, though. He's a jerk. Not the man I thought he was.
  25. Read Mark's blog regarding this. It's not something he talked about while Smoltz was here and it show his immense professionalism. Let's just say, they haven't talked for over a decade because Bradley wrote one article that wasn't totally complimentary of the guy after dozens of ones that were. Smoltz is a baby. Just read the blog, it's eye opening. Sure, he could not do anything about having 14 million deposited in his account. But he could do something about whining like a baby that he was being disrespected because they wouldn't give him another 10 million to suck this year. He should respect the fact that most of us could live our whole lives on the "disrespect" the Braves showed him. He's a punk. I totally agree about your last part. With the caveat that I don't think Glavine is or ever was a baby.
