  1. He's thrown some passes that would have gotten me benched in my middle school team back in the day. His shooting has been worse. Dennis got a lot of hype in the off season but he is raw. Probably needs a couple of years before he can become a good player for us.
  2. The good thing about this draft is that just by missing the playoffs BKN gives us a chance at an all star. They may not finish last, but I think it's entirely probable they don't make the playoffs this year.
  3. It's one thing to have a system, and another to see players buy into it. It's a testament to Ferry that we have not only the right system, but also the players with the correct attitude to run it.

    Wow

fourth game in five nights. It happens. We missed a lot of shots we have been making all year, and we got absolutely no love from the refs. After the Rose injury, I don't see anyone but us finishing third in the east.
  5. I didn't even know this whole swapping picks thing even existed before this thread. Danny Ferry is looking like a genius.
  6. Are the Nets bad enough to finish dead last? The only team that I think you can say is for sure worse is the Jazz
  7. So what's more important for this franchise at this point? A Hawks' win or a Nets' loss?
  8. Pretty cool. You'd think players would be racking up a higher number though. Wonder exactly how they discriminate between what qualifies and what doesn't qualify as a valid hockey assist.
  9. What's amazing is that Boris is actually probably in the worst shape of his life. Dude moves around like he's got 30 pound weights strapped to his ankles and a belly full of Krispy Kream, and is still playing 3 times better than he did with us.
  10. Both Melo and JR Smith had like their best seasons ever last year, which helps. Gonna be tough for either of them to play as good or better than they did last year.
  11. All we need now is for them to continue sucking a little longer so that Derron Williams can give up on the team and demand a trade. If things don't get better, it will happen.
  12. He's been on teams with bad coaching staffs. Maybe all he needed was a shot?? Hopefully he can give us a good game tonight against Miami. I've been quite impressed with him the first two games, doesn't seem like your average "stiff" backup center
  13. I would nerdgams if New Jersey continues to play like the worst team in the East and we get a top five pick this year. We will be in position to add another star to the mix (we already have to budding stars in Horf and Teague IMO) and have enough money to keep that three player core for at least the next five years. Not bad.
  14. Tendinitis is what they are calling it. Usually not a good sign, but hopefully something he can play with throughout the year. We have the luxury of having Scott and Ayón both playing well, so giving him a few days off here and there.
  15. Mack played fantastic tonight. He's looking like a baller so far this year, and should be getting all of Dennis' minutes.
  16. Teague has taken a big step up this year. He is playing at a star level so far and if he can keep it up and start hitting his jump shot he's pretty much second team all nba this season.
  17. What are your thoughts? I felt he played pretty well, especially considering it's his first action in a while. Was skepticle of having him start over Millsap, but I think it was a success, as I felt the second unit benefited from having Millsap play more minutes with them, and I thought Ayón was solid. I liked that he seemed to be around the ball in every rebound. Felt like he was in position to make a few more plays, but it was encouraging to see him at least be in good position most of the time. I think as he gets more minutes and game action he will start being more productive in terms of points and rebounds. He has a nice touch around the basket and is very fluid for a player his size. Reminds me a bit of Tiago Splitter. Lack of explosiveness and vertical seem to be his weaknesses.
  18. I warned people on this forum about having too high expectations for Schröder. I mean having a decent summer league doesn't mean absolutely jack squat, and posters were saying he was already better than Teague SMDH. Dennis will be fine, the biggest problem for him is that he is 19 years old. People forget that PG is by far, the toughest position to come in and play as a rookie in the NBA. Teague looked bad early on too, and now the guy is playing at an all star level. Nash looked like absolute garbage early on. It happens with PGs very often.

    Lou Update

That's a good thing. At least as far as W-Ls for this season is concerned. I knew Dennis would be raw, at only 19 years old. But based on some of the hype over the summer and preseason I didn't expect him to be this raw. He has looked awful in all but 1 maybe 2 games so far.
  20. I think Coach Bud needs to get more credit. Everyone, not just Teague, is busting their asses out there this year. They seem to have bought into the system. Helps when you come from what everyone knows is the best coached team in the NBA today.
  21. He looked great tonight. For a first game back I'd give him an A+
