  1. For a team allergic to the luxury tax, picking up valuable players on great value deals is a must. Reaves is such a player. Start Bogi, have Reaves off the bench we won't lose much offensively over our current squad and at a third of the price.
  2. Yes, he gets picked on because well he's worse than Lebron obviously, but he isn't "horrible". That's some hyperbole right there. Not saying he's a defensive difference maker but we aren't trading for a lockdown defender who can give you 15-5 on 61% TS and is a lockdown guy for 12 million a year, because that doesn't exist. You aren't getting anyone who produces what Reaves can give you at his price point it's a great value deal and if we ship DJM and Reaves is not part of the package it's a failure by our front office.
  3. O, agree, agree. Just playing devil's advocate if the move is being considered. He's the most usless sort of bigman in the NBA in 2023. No range, no defense.
  4. Or maybe, a counterpoint: we take a risk on him getting shit sorted and getting back to where he was? To me the real non-starter is that behemoth contract. Not worth the risk at that price.
  5. Oh I have no idea, could be. But whatever it was it's not really important, just that he has none basketball shit going on that is likely impacting him on the court was the important thing I wanted to convey.
  6. I don't understand the Reaves hate. Like at all. Do you guys not watch him play, ever? He was averaging 17-5 on 64% TS down the stretch for the Lakers last year, averaging 15-5 on 61% TS this year and just 2 tos per game. He's 25 and making less than Bogi.
  7. I'd take REaves on his contract in a heartbeat, but pretty sure the Lakers wouldn't move him.
  8. Worth noting last year he missed like over half the season due to "personnal reasons". Something to do with his wife. Since coming back he's been a shade of the player he was a couple of years ago.
  9. Love Bogi, but yea, it's time to punt any hopes at a run this year and try to retool for the next 2-3 years. Guys like Cap, Hunter Bogi and DJM need to be moved... everyone outside of Trae and JJ.
  10. What a win. Not a fan of Dejaunte Murray man. Him Cap and Hunter need to be traded for better fitting pieces.
  11. . Honestly what we should do is shelf Trae using his shoulder as an excuse, and tank for that #1 pick. Only shot in hell we'll ever have at picking up another All NBA guy. Then again pretty sure the lottery is rigged and the NBA hates Atlanta so maybe we are just shit out of luck forever.
  12. I'm just going at this with the baseline expectation of our trades being ass. I'd rather get a pick then a bum ass expiring, or TPE. If we trade DJM we need a first round pick for this upcoming draft + someone useful at a position of need this year. That's as good as I'm capable of imagining a trade getting for us.
  13. Picks are better than nothing, better than TPEs we won't use at least. You may get lucky and draft a player that can make an imediate impact, a Cam Johnson or even a young John Collins.
  14. I know people won't be happy but we need picks. Two Laker firsts and Rui
  15. It's what would make sense at least. I think it's clear this isn't a championship core atm.
  16. Yup it's a no brainer. Not cheap, but how could it be when you get a max guy back. KAT will fit better here than he has in Minny the last several years.
  17. And if we had Huerter he could be part of this trade. And if we got any other asset back it would be too. Don't understand what your point is at all. I guess we should be happy we didn't cut him outright?
  18. My guy the Huerter pick isn't why this trade is going to happen. If it happens. Which it won't so why are we even talking about this.
  19. Ah the mega blockbuster. It's the Lochness of Hawksquawk.
  20. We struck gold with JJ and got led with AJ. I think he can still turn his career around but he can go do that in a rebuilding team that is looking at 2-3 year window to compete.
  21. We need a center not to contribute in our current rotation necessarily but in case of injury. We are one Cap injury away from having zero legit centers on our team.
  22. At best. At very, very best. It's a lateral move. Though not really, Hunter is better than Kuzma, only difference offensively is he doesn't jack as many shots, and rebounds a little less. He is a much superior defender, is on a much more moveable contract, doesn't have an ego, he has 3x the winshares the last two years, is much more efficient, has better defensive metrics across the board. If we get Kuzma, how many shots is he taking? Who is he taking those shots from. He isn't taking 19 shots that's for damn sure. Is he taking 14? That's 4 shots we take away from Trae, Bogi, Dejaunte. JJ? So how does he help us offensively? Defensively even if he is motivated to play at a high level he isn't a difference maker there either. Ï'd rather trade Hunter for a draft pick.
  23. Yes, fine he played alright defense 4 years ago and won a bubble championship as the 7th man. Maybe if we got him in that role he would be valueable. Problem is he has 90 million guaranteed and a 26 million annual salary we'd be on the hook for, and then his pouting and trade requests if we ever had him come off the bench.
  24. So Kuzma plays zero, and I mean ZERO defense. He takes bad shots, and a lot of them. Furthermore he has ZERO interest in being a role player, he wants to play in teams like Washington where he is a first option so he can maximize his value and invest into his wardrbobe. The last thing the dude cares about is winning a game much less winning a championship. His impact via advanced metrics is pretty catastrophic, he has consistently been one of the least valueable starters in the NBA for quite some time.
  25. If they move him it will be for a kings ransom. What we gave up for DJM wouldn't be enough.
