Well, the reason he hasn't played is because he has had a pars defect in his lumbar spine, otherwise known as a spondylosis.  These can become very unstable if they don't heal properly.  If it shifts, it becomes a spondylolisthesis and can cause nerve impingement.  So, he hasn't played because they have been letting this heal.  I once kept a local athlete out of action for 6 months after finding a pars defect on MRI.

That's interesting! What ended up happening with the athlete?

  2. Excellent win! Kept their composure and won it in bonus time.

Great game OO - but man are you such a tease! Gain some consistency and you truly could be an integral part of a winning Hawks team in the future instead of being a major disappointment so far this year.

A historic night from Steph just wasn't enough. Let's keep it pushing!

If that is true of Luka it is true of Trae as well.

Both have had one run to the conference championship and not a lot else. Both need some more playoff success to validate their stats in my opinion.

    I hear ya.

Thing is, Luka is on an undeniable Hall of Fame track. Trae? It’s debatable.

  4. My patience is wearing extremely thin with Quin. Do I think he's better than Nate, yeah. But he better start being more flexible with his player personnel decisions (i.e. giving meaningful minutes to guys like Bufkin and AJ and less so to never-was-beens like Forrest, Mathews, Matthews and Patty Mills) for this team to really excel once we get more talent in here.

And be more flexible with the rotations! It's OK to play a big lineup, Quin. Seriously, did the big lineup take your lunch money or something?

Ultimately this team needs more talent to elevate from "mid status" into contender status. Neither Quin, Pop or Phil Jackson were ever going to change that. Trae, Murray, and JJ are not enough as bonafide blue chips. The rest of the cast is either good to have but not invaluable (Bogi, Capela, Bey), underperforming (OO, AJ), injured and underperforming (Hunter), or just current or should-be-bench pieces (basically everyone except Trae, Murray and JJ). That's nowhere good enough. However, I have strong concerns that we will be held back, or said another way - our team success won't be optimized - if Quin doesn't become more flexible when and if we do finally get some contending-team worthy talent.

Isn't a lot of this stuff the things we were raking Nate over the coals for? Quinn gets a pass??

While I strongly feel that we are a better club with Quin than Nate, I definitely don't give Quin a pass. There are too many things he and this team do (or don't do) that are giving me pause.

That said, I definitely don't see him getting a free pass around here. Unlike Nate, Quin hasn't been with the team a full year yet. But, he needs to do a better job just as much as the players and GM do.

  6. Every good team has a bad loss or two during the season, but this one was TERRIBAD!

I've never been confident that Nate is the type of coach to win us a ship because he was too boring on offense and didn't utilize players effectively and often enough, but games like tonight just further reinforce that for me. We need a better more imaginative offensive scheme.

Please trade Collins. I like him, but he doesn't fit.

We need a true backup big - OO ain't it yet. And it sucks that both our "centers" are so offensively challenged.

    Hunter...ugh. I won't go there.

I don't know if AJ is the truth or not, but he needs to steal as many minutes from Hunter as possible until the latter starts playing like a reliable SF.

Trae and DJ...smh. Hero ball got you what? A filled up box score and a f'n loss. Kudos!

Our bench sucks aside from AJ - please get well soon, Bogi.

At this rate, we'll make the playoffs...only to get shelled. We're pretenders right now. A whole bunch of mis-matchy parts that, when put together, play well enough to win most of the time, but not well enough to threaten for a championship.

If this team, aside from AJ, isn't completely ashamed and embarrassed by their performance last night, they should all return their game checks.

Fake news - he's at the line shooting a free throw!

Seriously, good luck to you. I always thought you underperformed and was criminally inconsistent, but there is no denying that you were a stand up dude who represented himself well.

    Godspeed.
