  1. Quote: If making the playoffs means BK and Woody keep their jobs then i hope the Hawks don't make it. The players deserve better than having to deal with those clowns. How ironic! I said the same damn thing over a week ago, and a bunch of clowns came out can pounced all over me for saying the exact same thing. How intriguing... The biggest deal the Hawks need to make isnt a trade...it's a firing of both Woodson and BK. You cant win anything when coaching is sooo sub par--no matter how good the talent.
  2. If these hoes let Smoove walk at the end of the year...they will have ZERO real fans left. They literally have no straws left. Our FO and HC is such a mess. We need WHOLESALE changes to get back on track.
  3. I have said it over two weeks ago: If they are sincere about firing Woodson, they better do it BEFORE the end of the All Star break. If they dont, he will be our coach for the rest of the season. Woodsy AND BK need to go at the same time.
  4. Yet, for the life of me, you will get cats that will come in here and defend Woodson to the death. Face it, the Hawks aren't going anywhere as long as Woodson [and that sorry FO and GM] are here.
  5. So..where are all the "We making the playoffs!" threads? Hmm? What a game...to give away. Not the way a hopeful Hawks team needs to be going into the All Star Break.
  6. Quote: Deal or no deal the Hawks should be a lock for the playoffs in the eastern conference, especially now that NJ unloaded Kidd. Are you kidding me? Not with the way these guys have been playing recently. We have fallen to the 8th seed. Philly is now just ONE game behind us now. And they have won 4 straight. Indy is just two games behind us now. Yeah, NJ unloaded Kidd, but they got Devin Harris--who is no garbage PG at that. Even if they fall, we got Philly (who has played well lately), Indy, and even Chicago breathing down our necks. They better get their acts together soon or we will be watching the playoffs from home, yet again, instead of watching our boys revel in the experience.
  7. Quote: Did you just call Andre Miller a shooter? I meant *scorer. But seriously though, a trade needs to be made because this team won't do anything meaningful the way it is currently constructed.
  8. Interesting that he would now probably suit up for the West. At least this finally gives Calderon the nod he deserves.
  9. Well, it would solve two of our major problems in one (shooter and reliable PG). I wish he could shoot the 3 (just 14% this year). Oh well, if we can get him without giving up our core, then it sounds attractive depending on the deal. He is 32 in a month and would provide reliable service until Acie is fully ready.
  10. I bet he still plays for the East. He was voted in for the East. It's not like it's a real game anyway. Just keep him on the East because that is where he was voted in.
  11. I think it will come in time. Again, it's not like hes a focal point of the offense. He is still trying to figure out his game and what will work and what won't in the NBA. Hopefully, we have coaches that will instill in him how to use his advantages so we won't have to have conversations about why he isn't abusing players with his speed and handles.
  12. Quote: It is only too much to give up if you are a loser franchise. I swear you people on H.S. don't believe in trades whatsoever. Who gives a damn about a young scrub pg, a stiff center, and a underachieving chucker backup sg? If you get a chance to get a HOF pg, who is still productive and has the ability to take you to the next level...you get him. Dallas' window is now. They cant wait for Harris to figure it out, nor can they depend on JT. Tommorow ia not promised to anyone, especially considering the volatile nature of sports. In 2009 Dirk could blow out an achilles and dallas would have wasted its window of opportunity. Lol, "you people on H.S." How High and Mighty of you. Maybe next time you will check that condescending tone at the door. Knowing that that wont happen, I will like to say a couple things about the trade. Yes, I agree with you that Dallas is in a Win Now or Go Home situation. They have a good team full of talent and are playoff contenders. They were embarrassed last year, and with all the trades in the West this year, they felt they needed to make a move. So yes, I totally agree with you there. However, my comment was in regards NOT to who they got (Kidd), but what they gave up to get him. Kidd is at the tail-end of his career. He barely shoots the ball anymore, misses most of the ones he takes, and is a shell of his former self. Does that mean he isnt good? Of course not. All I am saying is that Dallas gave up a hell of a lot to get him. Does it make Dallas a better team? Arguably, yes. Kidd should be the floor general they need NOW. It surely isnt as lopsided as say, the Gasol trade, but it accomplished what both teams wanted--and that is what trades are all about. Maybe Kidd is just what they need to make it to the final round this time...but only time will tell.
  13. WAAAAAAAY too much to give up imo. If Dallas doesnt win it all, then that makes that lopsided trade even worse for them.
  14. If you dont see changes before the culmination of the All Star Break and trade deadline, then you know that this organization is not committed to winning a damn thing. I knew we would start free-falling if we kept playing like this. That is why I refused to get excited about a very lackluster team with sorry azz management and FO personnel. Face it, our team can't win anything as currently constructed (players and management). To think otherwise is pure and utter delusion.
  15. So, I checked out his player profile here... http://www.nba.com/playerfile/brad_miller/index.html Because I havent been able to watch him play much. My question is: Can he defend? He's a legit 7 footer. I had no idea he could shoot the three (30% clip). Anyway, he sounds good, but I dont know how the salaries and whatnot would work out. How much is he making now?

Quote: Quote: Acie got a whopping 6 mins today. 2 assists in that time. Oh well... Yes, we need a PG and a shooter. But guess what we need more than that? A competent FO and Head Coach. And a benched Joe Johnson (for a game or two to recover). And Solomon Jones to play, Stoudemire to play.... But what do I know... what do any of us know as long as we have ASG and our FO Exactly. If changes are to be made, they need to start THERE. Change them before we change the players.
  17. Quote: Joe Johnson should forfeit his allstar bid and give it someone else who actually deserves it. Joe Johnson is a good player, but no way in hell is he an ALL Star. My Dad and I just said, if hes an all star, then so is Solomon Jones. So there.

  19. Quote: to the Bobcats, I expect a trade or coaching move before Sunday, otherwise this season is over. You and I both know this will not happen this season. Better get used to the product the Hawks organization is currently selling us because things will likely stay the same...
  20. I dont have a good feeling about this game at all. Detroit has won 8 straight, they play really good defense, and they clamp down on the Hawks every time we play them. Let's face it, Detroit is the second best team in the East. They may be old, but their defense keeps us from doing the only thing that would give us a chance to beat them, and that is run it down their throats. They force us into that half-court offense, and we all know how we play in a half-court offense... That aside, if we dont come out shooting well (like 50%+) and rebounding well, then we will probably get killed. Simple as that. Acie HAS to play big minutes this time against Billups (because the other PGs we have wont be able to keep up) and we will have to keep Horford out of foul trouble. Not being a pessimist...just telling it like it is. Our chance to win IMMEDIATELY goes up if Woodson "mysteriously" doesnt show up for the game and some other coach takes over.
  21. Quote: Acie Law IV got in the game for less than 2 minutes, pushed the ball, had an assist, went out and was never seen again. What did he do wrong? Where was Shelden tonight? Solomon Jones? Salim? Too many fresh players going to sit and not play fast because we can't do that to a team on the back end of a back to back, can we! ------------------------------ Remember though, these cats will tell you that its NOT Woodson's fault for that...
  22. Quote: watch this and look at the shot at about 1:37 hmmmmmm & 1:58,his shot looks kinda different from then though Awesome mix! If only Marvin would do that sorta thing consistently. AT present, he is our best trade piece.
  23. Quote: I just don't see this answering a need. He is a very simular player to Smith and we are trading away a jump shooter for him. Our needs are a 3 point shooter (really just a backup sg), a post player and a point guard. AK is a quality player don't get me wrong but is not really right for this team. Marvin is really our best scorer/shooter after JJ and if we are moving him (which I don't really want to do) it has to be for one of the things that answer our needs. Totally agree. On a different note, I looked at the player profiles in this thread, and JJ is 12 pounds heavier but 2 inches shorter than the SF/PF tweener that is AK47. Some on here have suggested that JJ could lose a few pounds (he does play SG after all) so it will be easier on him (his legs, knees, movement, speed). SO... Is AK47 just that skinny or is JJ just too "heavy"?
  24. Quote: They need to keep rolling and run with the Cavs. Since they are short-handed it should definately be to our advantage. Yeah, and then there was the Clippers game... But seriously tho, I totally agree. And if we play like we did against the Lakers, and not against the Clippers, we can run (pun intended) away with this game.
  25. Quote: Gotta say that I just love the passion these guys play with every night. They make everyone around them better. WE are lucky to have these 2 young men on our team. It's a damn shame so many were/are advocating trading Josh Smith on here for [insert someone here]. And it's even more sad how some on here, I have noticed, dont think Horford is playing all that well. How pathetic. But seriously tho, I like the idea someone said that Horford will be fine at the 5 as long as we have J Smoove at the 4. We still could use a defensive big to come off the bench to provide inside presence when either of them are on the bench, but when these two guys play together on the floor, it is something to behold. And, Horford is JUST A ROOKIE who WILL improve even more. Look at how much Howard improved from year to year since he broke into the league.
