  1. Not only are they more intelligent, but they're just better teammates than Smith and not nearly as selfish. Smith clearly only cares about himself. He would rather lose his way instead of doing what is most beneficial for the success of the team. Smith is a guy that puts himself above the success of the team. That's one of the worst teammates you can have. It would be different if he was actually good at shooting jumpers, but he's so selfish that he doesn't care that he doesn't shoot them particularly well. He's going to do what he wants to do. I wonder what kind of players Ben Wallace and Dennis Rodman would have been if they insisted on shooting jumpers and floating around the perimeter.

Josh Smith has got to be one of the most selfish players and one of the worst teammates in the league. He clearly only cares about himself. He would rather lose his way than do what is most beneficial for the success of the team. He's never going to change and a coach shouldn't have to force him to realize that he needs to do what is most beneficial for the team. I used to like Josh Smith, but now he sickens me. It's time for him to move on.
  3. I think Ferry is trying his hardest to entice Josh Smith to stop shooting jumpers entirely.
  4. I absolutely LOVE this move. Trading Joe Johnson opens up possibilities that didn't exist for the Hawsks just a month ago. Keeping Joe would have just meant 4 or 5 years of mediocrity and the fanbase would have become even less interested than they already were. Now, the Hawks at least have the CHANCE to be a major player in the Eastern Conference. If they get Dwight Howard, which is now a possibility since we don't have Joe's contract killing the team anymore, then the Hawks will all of a sudden become relevant. That would then open up the possibility to get Chris Paul. That would put the Hawks at or near the very top of the foodchain in the entire NBA. THAT is very exciting. Joe Johnson, on the other hand, is not.
  5. Let me know when you're having your party. I'll be there to celebrate with you.
  6. Yeah, I always have a bias for local guys too. Especially when that local guy happens to be my cousin. LOL
  7. First of all, Joe Johnson has never been even close to athletic as Vince Carter. Second: Joe Johnson is easy to guard. If his jumpshot is not falling, he's next to useless. Third: I believe that Charles Barkley said that a team with Joe Johnson as their most highly paid player is not going to go anywhere. He's absolutely right. As long as Joe Johnson is here with his team-killing contract, this team is going to be stuck in neutral. HE'S JUST NOT THAT GOOD!!!!! I don't understand why some of you guys are so blind to that FACT. In fact, I bet this team could lose Joe Johnson for an entire season, and not be much worse off. Joe is just not that much of a difference-maker. Joe Johnson would be a good 2nd option, and a very good 3rd option. As a 1st option, he's just decent. It's nothing personal against Joe Johnson. It's just common sense. You can clearly see with your own two eyes that Johnson is not an elite player. You can see that he's terrible with double-teams. You can see that he can't beat a double-team because he's too unathletic. You don't see him attacking the basket. You don't see him getting to the freethrow line. You don't see him posting guys up and getting easy baskets around the rim. Again, you can clearly see that Joe Johnson is not an elite player. Yet, he's getting paid as if he's one of the top-5 players in the league. That is not a formula for success. I don't know why you guys can't seem to grasp that simple concept.
  8. Well, Joe isn't a great SG, so we don't have to worry about that. I'd do that trade in a heartbeat. Joe is probably the least athletic, least explosive SG in league. Not only that, but he's also a ball stopper and takes about 20 seconds to make a decision, which usually leads to a Josh Smith jumpshot. No, we can find better than Joe Johnson.
  9. You must be joking. I'm sorry, but Harden is better than Joe. He's quicker, faster, and more explosive. Also, he can do what Joe doesn't do: attack the basket and get to freethrow line. I'd love to swap Joe for Harden. The Hawks would be better and I'm certain that we wouldn't be down to the Celtics 3-1 if we had Harden instead of Joe.
  10. LOL!!!! That shot chart is hilarious. Josh will keep on shooting until he proves all of you guys wrong. He's gonna show you all. He's going to prove that he's a long-range assassin.
  11. Let's not get too carried away, now. Afterall, it was against the Wizards. It's not as if he dropped 34 against the Heat.
  12. Unfortunately, I was unable to watch this game. I recorded the game, but I made the mistake of recording the NBA TV broadcast instead of the Sports South broadcast, and the NBA TV channel was blacked out. However, when I look at the stat sheet, my eyes tell me that it's mostly Joe Johnson's fault that the Hawks lost this game. Free throws are another reason the Hawks lost, but this loss is mostly on Joe Johnson's shoulders. He shot 17 shots and only hit three of them. To make matters worse, he only shot two free throws. You can't shoot that much, miss that much, and then only take two free throws. This loss is Joe Johnson's fault as far as I'm concerned. Diesel, I can only hope and pray that the Thunder would think about doing something like you proposed in your trade to get Dwight Howard and James Harden here. I can't stand Joe's game, and I think Harden is a better player.
  13. This trade would be fantastic for the Hawks, but I doubt that it would ever happen. Good things like that don't ever happen for the Hawks.
  14. I can't even believe that this is up for debate. Larry Drew is better than Woody, and it's not even close. Woody only had one simple-minded scheme: Switch everything. It didn't matter if Horford ended up guarding Chris Paul every time or if Bibby ended up guarding Dirk Nowitzki every time. Woody would never waiver from that idiotic "switch everything" defense.
