saw Jokic complain to last night simply by looking at him disapprovingly for about half a second on his way back down the court to play defense.     That's how you do it.  I'm sure that ref gave Jokic the benefit of the doubt next time there was a close call.

25 years old and Trae is still acting like a little entitled brat on the court.

Also saw Jokic delay the game and impede the ref from throwing the ball in. Trae would of been T'ed up for that. But hey.

Tough to disagree with this and like I laid out earlier this year (maybe before the season started), I think the FO move to get Murray always had a small inkling of if things don't work out with Trae or this pairing, we will have the option to move forward with either only Trae or only DJ and trade the other.  It's tough to not see things that way.  Now you got Murray on a good deal, so you if you can land a big fish all-star (center or wing), you can afford to build around DJ, that new big fish, and JJ (or others that develop and earn bigger salaries).

Add to that, Quin's system is not nearly as reliant on Trae as Nates, and you further the case for considering a move.  You could see that last night, too...  Bogi, for example, was cooking with Trae on or off the floor and still getting good looks.  Even when Trae was on the court, Bogi was mostly getting open looks through off ball screens and not as much from Trae creating out of the PnR or isolation.  I believe it was @KB21(?) that suggested we structure our offense around Bogi in the same way we did with Korver and last night Bogi definitely looked like Korver out there.  If I'm Landry, I'm thinking really hard about what a Hawks roster looks like without Trae.  Problem obviously is the return -- you gotta get a dominant wing or front court player in a package for Trae, and I don't know what teams would be willing to trade for him.

Really don't understand that logic. But, hey.

So Trae wanted Ben and couldn't get him. Then Trae wanted DJM and got him.  Now Trae STILL wants Ben, even with DJM?  Does that mean he wants both together or he's willing to move DJM for Ben?  And Trae lobbied to keep Capela, right?

I'm just curious if anyone understands Trae's roster building strategy?  And if so, kindly explain it to my like I'm 5.  Thanks.

All I got is he is finally buying into the IT comparison. DJ=Dumars Ben=Rodman/Sally

  4. Luka and Trae are very similar. Eliminate the size difference and they are the same guy.

CF participants, 2nd coach. Luka couldn't make it work with Porzingas, Trae and Collins probably need a divorce. Streaky shooters. Suspect defense. Ball dominant.

He just lacks the attributes others currently have. Nothing wrong with that.

Trae can pass, break you down off dribble, mid range, and shoot the three.

Ja can dunk on 7footers, break you down off dribble, pass, mid range, and shoot the three

Luka can dunk, post, break you down off dribble, pass, mid range, and shoot the three.

Ja gave the champions all that they could handle

Luka got his team to WCF to lose to champs

Trae got shut down by #2 team in the East in 1st round 4-1

Trae got his team to the ECF and yielded due to a refs foot, let's be fair.

  6. Trae has got to get this team to a top 3 seed and do the playoffs CF again. If you torcher me I would have to say health being a none issue I would probably take all those guys except Ja over Ice. No disrespect, but size is a big plus. We've all seen the issues size has cost us, be it against or for us.

I actually would make a case from the opposite perspective and say the max salary is bad for the league because it promotes super teams.  If you had the same salary cap structure but no max salaries then instead of the Heat getting LeBron, Bosh and Wade for $14M per, they would have gotten closer to 30M per which would have prevented them from stacking all those stars on the same roster.  It is the existence of max salaries that let teams stack the deck.

If Portland is willing to pay 61M for Lillard, how much would Giannis, Luka, etc. get if there was no max?

But, then you have to eliminate the cap, like baseball. Because some team would offer Luka the whole cap and force the NBA to make an exception.
