Wow I wasn’t expecting so many of you to take this game seriously. Hawks been trash all season. Trae went down and all the Trae haters said “Murray will lead us to the promise land just watch” …ended up with a worse record than last season and no it’s not because Trae came back early from injury. i will admit Trae was absolute trash tonight but so was this team in general outside of Murray’s offensive performance. The defense is so horrendous even if Traes offense was a normal outing we likely are still losing this. we need defense and length so bad , along with a easy bucket scorer it ain’t even funny bro hams.

Maybe so. I can admit I may be a bit bias but I feel like they get good looks and simply just don’t take them. If Edey screens like that at the next level those are likely going to easily be 3s Good point. I like the whole fit honestly with or without Murray in the starting lineup.

Clingans offense is not great but this was very obvious to me before this game.

I’m still taking Edey with the Hawks regardless of this game. I think Edey with trae and Murray would be amazing

You just can’t decide to not shoot 3s when you have Edey. Purdue guards aren’t even looking for the 3 ball. i will give Clingan props though. He battled well vs Big Edey in the 2nd half.

I’m not impressed with Clingan so far. I’m a bama fan but secretively I’m hoping we see a Clingan vs Edey championship.

These are great points. My fascination with Edey is his pairing with Trae Young. Edey checks a lot boxes with the pairing of Trae Young and we can even keep Murray long term with Edeys size & skillset. I would take Clingan also to pair with Trae. Unfortunately for us I do not believe the hawks FO are going to look at either…sadly. We really need a big man but I’m seeing most mocks have us drafting a guard and not a big man. i think first pick for the hawks should be Edey but Edey is barely in most mock drafts lottery picks so that should tell you how much he’s valued to the so called scout experts. Maybe it’s because your reasoning you listed above of Edey needing to paired with a guard who heavily utilizes screens. I can’t wait to hear from you and the other insiders on who the hawks are favoring in this draft once we know where they are picking,

His offense is not great unless he’s right up under the goal. we need someone like Edey who Trae can throw the ball to with good positioning down in the post, turn and hit that easy short hook shot. it would be great to have a high percentage big man paired with Trae. defensively for Edey it will be all about scheme.

I like Clingan also but not more than Edey.

Stop sleeping on Edey folks…that short hook shot is gold. Great box out center also ! Man I’m not really understanding how some of you don’t like Edey. every since @NBASupes mentioned him I’ve watched every game of him. I’d love to see this guy with Trae.

Edeys on ball screens are f***ing excellent folks! Dude impacts the offense with those screens in a huge way.

I think Edey offensive touch around the basket is way better but I’m hoping they face off in the championship game.

I haven’t watched 1 second of this game but since we won I can’t wait to see it. out of all the comments the Dre last shot or whatever it was seem to be the most interesting lol…

I’m all for keeping Trae and Murray pairing if we can put an extremely large front court in place to go with them. Either way it goes if we go back into next season with a small front court we can just tell Trae goodbye.

I think bey would have been loved here if he played off the bench like he was supposed to all season. Man this news is so bad.

Yup unfortunately this is probably why the hawks won’t even look his way…..i think where I stand on this is that even though that is all true …it’s one of those things that you don’t realize you need it in this modern league until you need it. watching the hawks constantly get bullied year in and year out by being physically overmatched is getting old. My only hope is that if the FO don’t want a big like Edey then I hope they have other realistic plans to get bigger and lengthier. The modern big who does all those things is also extremely rare

Yup! I think he’s going to do just fine. there are some obvious things team will take advantage of him on like having a stretch 5 to get him away from the basket but if he’s in a drop defense scheme he will probably be ok. i think he has good touch around the goal as well. He don’t have to be right up under the rim to score like Capela. with hawks lacking so much size (in my opinion)…I’d welcome Edey here with open arms. I would bet the hawks aren’t even looking at him though
