  1. Um, this is a Hawks forum where we talk about what's going on with Hawks players. If a player has missed nearly an entire season due to mental health issues, maybe medication should be considered. No I'm not his psychiatrist. If a guy has missed a long time with an injury, maybe surgery should be considered. No I'm not his orthopedic surgeon either. Clearly you believe psychiatric medication is this last resort terrible thing, I don't know what else you're having such a strong reaction to the suggestion.
  2. We speculate on injuries , why should this be any different? He has missed nearly an entire season due to mental health issues. It's documented he had mental health issues in high school as well. Sounds to me like he needs psychiatric care, or should consider it at the very least. There is nothing controversial about what I'm saying.
  3. Psychiatric medication can help. If you are having ongoing mental health issues that are causing you to miss work, it's something to seriously consider, under the care of a doctor of course. I don't see what's so controversial about my statement.
  4. I wonder if he has religious objections to medication. It's probably time for him to go on a psychiatric medication.
  5. Lateral quickness. It's a god given athletic trait that cant be taught.
  6. I mentioned Shaq because he is a center, and he is highly marketable. And I'm not sure why you think being American is so important. Did you recently witness the Wemby hype? He's French. Giannis is very popular. He's from Greece. If you have some empirical evidence to support your position, please share it. The two things that really matter are how good you are at basketball, and how charismatic you are. Being White does not appear to provide any marketing advantage. If it does can you cite an example? Being American does not appear to be that important either. Ultimately you have be really good and have some flair or charisma that excites fans.
  7. Actually I'm pretty sure you're the one moving the goal posts here. I'm citing examples that run counter to your specious claims and you're conveniently dismissing them. According to you being White really helps in marketing. Wait, unless you're foreign. And you can't be a center either. And any examples of successful centers or foreign born players also don't count. Ok man sure.
  8. Shaq, one of the greatest marketing machines in NBA history, is a center. It's not about race, or position, it's about charisma.
  9. Has being White helped Jokic being marketed? People who don't follow the NBA have no clue who he is despite being arguably the best player in the world. I'm going to say that again. He's white, he's the best player in the world. He doesn't even have his own shoe.
  10. I'm just saying being White does not help with marketing as an NBA player. There is no empirical evidence to suggest it does. If anything, it's a hindrance.
  11. Not to go down the political/socio rabbit hole. But the notion that teams really want a White star for marketing just does not appear to true. Jokic is the best player in the world, and the average person has never even heard of him. He isnt really heavily marketed. What Madison Avenue really wants is another MJ or LeBron. Hard to argue with that, considering their success.
  12. With SAS having our picks for the foreseeable future, we cant do a rebuild.
  13. Not to beat a dead horse, but trading not one but two unprotected picks really put us in a tough spot. We should have insisted on some modest protections at the very least.
  14. Id be curious to know what the offers were.
  15. A staffer comes in the room, "hey we have like 30 missed calls here, were you guys aware of this?"
  16. I hope we had more irons in the fire than just the Pels.
  17. Yea, that makes no sense. I don't think that's the trade.
  18. I think that would be less annoying than Draymond Green. Bullying teammates, and constantly complaining about everything and everyone.
  19. A trade with the Pels is the only thing out there that makes any sense. I'm guessing they can't agree on draft compensation.
  20. We even hired another former GM to help them. It's a hot mess.
  21. It's the Georgia Tech in you. You don't trust the engineering.
  22. Yes, perhaps but it's also no coincidence that more notable GMs like Presti, Ainge and Stevens manage to get deals done.
  23. Landry at 3:01 PM. "You know I just really like my guys."
  24. Diesel, a sensible, rational non-homer post. Is this the dawning of a new era of Diesel?
  25. Does anyone know what's going to happen? No. I don't understand your point. All our conservation is opinion and conjecture.
