Seems to be an effort issue to me. Guys just not playing motivated and then picking it up in the second half of games.

Has a team ever won 60 games then failed to make the playoffs in the following season?

Maybe they are coasting to the playoffs. Similar to past Spurs teams. I think it's a possibility. And maybe Kyle (the catalyst) is fully healed in the second half and we go on a run.

Man, I've been coming to this site a long time. It's time to make a change for sure, but does anybody think this team can beat GSW or SAS? Can Teague or Horford win a championship for this team? Both are great complimentary pieces but not championship caliber. Bud can do it one day, with a GM that isnt Bud..

I guess I was thinking more of coach Buds dream player. Who would that be for us to be legit title contenders?

As the ups and downs of this season continue I find myself paying attention to other players/teams and thinking; man I sure would love if the Hawks had a player like that guy. Then I immediately go, no wait he would never fit into our system. So then I think, what player would be the perfect player for the system coach Bud is running. Such as the Duncan-Pop combo that we all wish for. I really don't know who to put there and I don't know if it's a good or bad thing. Would we need a PG? A big time scorer? A big man? And how would coach Bud answer this question? Just curious to see what the Squawk thought..

I can't remember who said this last season but they said that even though Korver doesnt score 30 a night, you have to defend him like he can. Last season teams had to worry about a healthy Korver. Without him hitting shots and still recovering from the off season surgeries teams dont have to guard him as close and can help on other guys driving the lane

Not to mention Paul Pierce begging for a foul after DMC falls at his feet on that same play

I know I am obviously a homer here but having watched every minute of this series it seems like we are getting beat up on every rebound and drive to the basket. Nene and Gortat have obviously been the biggest culprits but if you watch Kyle coming off of screens he is held on almost every possesion. Also, what happened to the NBA issuing fines for player flopping, especially in the playoffs? Paul Pierce has got to owe them a fortune since the beginning of this series. Thoughts?

I have followed this team religiously since I was in 8th grade. I have seen some pretty terrible teams trotted out onto the court of the Highlight Factory and now as a young professional I am finally seeing what it is like to cheer for a winner. I still remember how ecstatic I was looking at hoopshype to confirm that Mike Bibby had been sent to Atlanta and being in the stands when Zaza put KG in his place. As you can see, I have not been a frequent poster to Hawksquawk but since the invention of the iPhone I have always had a tab up in Safari dedicated to the Squawk. I have seen the topics feuded over and discussed from those who wanted Woody to stay to those who say Coach Bud is a better coach than Pop. This weekend I will be making the trip to Chicago to watch my Hawks play the "favorites in the Eastern Conference." Although I am still somewhat in my old Hawks mindset and expecting a let down, I will be cheering as hard as I can for this current squad. For some reason it seems like I have watched this organization go through the ups and downs and I can't help but feel as if I have a little ownership in this team myself. So, heres to a big win on the road, cheers and GO HAWKS!!

Does anybody think we have a chance to get Ricky Rubio? I just saw on Sports Center that he declared. I watched some of his videos on youtube. He is SICK I think he is only like 18 or 19 also. This is a good pick especially with the success of spanish players like the Gasols and Rudy..

I think joe doesn't dunk because of his injury when he played in Phoenix. I guess he figures why get hurt again when a layup counts as much as a dunk. I dont think it has anything to do with his elevation to the rim.

The Braves have reached an agreement with Japanese pitcher Kenshin Kawakami. Pretty good pickup for the middle of the rotation but we still need an ace. Lowe is good but he is to old and wants to many years. What will the Braves do about him and what do you guys think about this pickup?

I know that nobody likes JJ but I think he would play pretty good for us. What would we have to give up to get him? I think I would give Othello and Mario. What would it take?
