  1. I think he can. He was Memphis' starter wasn't he? He fits what we (read: Schlenk/Bud regime) are looking for. Relatively young. Improving. Still has upside. For a 4 that can shoot, best one still out there as far as fit. Memphis is hard capped. So there is a number I believe they can't match. But, A) I don't know what that is. Or B) whether we have the space (hard to know anything until Crawford's buyout numbers are revealed) and finally C), we want to pay him that "number" at all.
  2. Being a West Coaster, I haven't seen the games, but I'll eat crow on at least one thing (so far): I thought for sure the injuries were going to be too much for Jenkins and he was going to end up being cut. It's early, but that doesn't seem even possible at this point. I love shooters and I'm rooting for him. I had just kind of given up. First time back in here in a while. Man, season is almost upon us. Crazy.
  3. I'm aware they are blind. But knowing say Charlotte only has so much, you can guarantee you beat at least one threatening team if you want. We don't even know that Ferry is bidding. Or very much. He coumd be take it or leave it like a lot of us are. Not being able to trade him could be a reason Ferry doesn't bid at all.
  4. I read that Bids are over at 2 pm PST (5 pm for you ATL kids) and we should know by then. I've been wondering if you can adjust bids. Because if Ferry is interested, once Charlotte signed Lance you could have just bid more than they have. The teams that worry me are teams like the 76ers to be honest. Tons of space and the need to hit the salary floor. They could bid 8-10 without blinking.
  5. I've been saying in a couple of threads, including this one, after striking out I'd be really surprised if Ferry didn't throw a bid in just to add a solid player. He's a shell, but if he's our backup PF on the cheap, that's fine. It would push Payne and Scott minutes down however. In fact, could spell trouble for Scott. I think Charlotte might outbid us though. Having lost McBob and a Rookie on deck, they actually need a starter.
  6. I mean, it looks like a "City Pride" thing obviously based on the teams also listed. I was hoping for the new pacman logo in someway too. I guess we'll see.
  7. Is this news? Or has this been out there already? And is there a leaked pic out there anywhere?
  8. Only if we are replacing him with a big. With all the extra cap space, and how deep we are getting at the 2 spot I wouldn't be surprised if Danny cuts his losses with Jenkins. I know he just got cleared, but the Earth keeps spinning and his spot is looking precarious.
  9. Finally caught up on the Summer League games. I was out of town and had em on tape. After 1, I felt like Mack was still way ahead of Dennis, but after two I think it's closer and we see more signs of his talent. Big year for him. He looked really dynamic at times in Game 2. (Usual Summer League caveat applies.) Is this the only Summer League thread going? Some other thoughts: Payne - gonna be a nice NBA player. Love his body and game. He definitely looks like a starting 4 in the NBA as far as potential. Can't wait to see him develop. Tavares - Nice! I read some things after we drafted that talked of him hitting 15 footers and his stroke at the line is solid. That hook when improved could be deadly. It already looks better than Hibbert's. As for losing Bebe, this guy seems further along and his ceiling seems higher. Muscala - What a nice Summer League he's having! Doesn't project to be any better than our 5-6th big right now but if he can translate this improvement he could steal some minutes from Antić. Patterson - Definitely a Ferry/Bud guy. I could see him developing nicely but there is a real glut at the end of the SG rotation. We'll see what happens. His ball handling could help make the team if for some reason Mack moves on.
  10. I keep thinking Jason Smith has Ferry written all over him as far as a BU Center goes.
  11. Seems to be some confusion on how the Boozer amnesty works: When he's amnestied, he'd go through the bidding process first. Teams with cap space place bid and highest gets him. (Bulls pay difference of his 16 million and what the team bids.) If no one bids for him, then he's a Free Agent and can choose where he wants to go. As for Atlanta: If there are no major moves coming, which is looking likely, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Danny makes a bid. Now, I think he's a little redundant as we have Sap and just drafted Payne and still have Scott in theory. But if we whiff everywhere else, why not bring in a player of quality on the cheap that would settle in the system easily. Especially with Sap in a contract year and Deadline Trade Bait. So I almast expect a bid unless there is something else DF is working on. Whether that's 3 million, 4 or 5 who knows. Now remember, we can't trade him for the year. He'd be ours until the end of the season but we do gain his bird rights. Seems worth even a 2 million bid unless you're worried it would kill Payne's development.
  12. That was my thought too. I think Scott starts there but its Payne's to lose. He seems more versatile on both ends just than the one. I wouldn't mind seeing the BY Center spot improved either. But that's have to be a trade at this point.
  13. I see the rotation with Deng more like this: Teague - Mack - Schröder Korver - Sefelosha - Bazemore - Patterson/Jenkins Deng - DMC - (Sefelosha) Milsap - Payne - Scott Horford - Antić - Muscala But that's 15 if Patterson and Jenkins are fighting for a single spot. Could be they both get cut.
  14. I think Boozer is a little redundant but he is a solid and if we haven't used the space maybe Ferry will put in a bid just to add a player of quality.
