  1. Sometimes I can't stand coach buds offense. It usually doesn't have enough ball handlers and is heavily taxing on the off to create everything for everybody. That's why Milsap will be missed. When our shots aren't falling, and opposing defenses close the paints on our pgs dribble penetration, we need a big or two with Milsap or Jahlil offensive skillset to add another dimension to it. I'm tired of seeing ungodly long stretches especially in the playoffs, because everyone is camped out at the point line.
  2. Good point. Would you say the reason contracts being given to mediocre players is because of lack of talent in the league? It's as if there isn't any middle class of solid talented players. I guess the experiment to reinstate the 1 year 'players must stay in college rule' hasn't yielded more talent like they had hoped. At some point, nba is going to have to find a away to either collaborate with the ncaa or give graduating high school students the option to make money by being drafted in to the d-league for exposure, development and chance to make money. College coaches aren't properly developing players anymore. That's in part because you can't develop players in one year.
  3. Very good game. I was hoping Baze and/or Tim would have become more than just spot up shooters by now. We seriously need that second person on offense (especially from the wing) asides from the pg that can slash and score or set up hockey assist. Maybe Baze is holding back till the season starts to show off his improved handles and ability to score off the dribble. Seems as if the rookies are already ahead of our veterans in this department. They just need experience. We can't keep relying on the pg to be the only ball handler and creator on the floor. That's why the offense can get very stagnant at times even under Teague. Baze and Tim needed to develop in to that role. Am I the only one that feels this way?
  4. I totally agree. The positions that have had the most success in Bud U are point guards and wings. Asides from millsap, we haven't seen similar amount of development from the big men. Edy, though, seems to be coming along.
  5. Maybe our Hawks U program isn't good at developing bigs.
  6. I don't know why. I just like his game and the tempo he plays at. His vision, I think, is up there with Teague's. I truly hope bud considers him for the pg spot. He is heady and such an excellent passer. Hopefully he can improve is shot and handles by training camp.
  7. I don't know man. Hawks did millsap wrong trying to keep a lesser talented Horford over him. Bud needs to do damage control. Taking him to a drake concert won't be enough, this time, to make up for this. I hope he re ups with us next season when prince and bembry hit year 2, Hardaway at year 3, and bazemore finishing the hawks U with honors at year 4 (don't know what to make of Tavares yet).
  8. Thats what I'm hoping for as well. I like how Coach Quinn and Bud are being allowed to put their fingerprints on the team through this years to rebuild the team their way. I can't wait to see the end result once these 2 coaches get rolling the way they want. I know it's tougher to acquire the pieces in the nba due to dearth of talent in both the draft and FA unlike the nfl. Acquiring Dwight is a huge step in breaking our curse in even getting opportunity to be considered as an option by talented free agents. Yes he might not be the Dwight of old but even this 2nd stage Dwight is somebody our past front offices didn't even have a chance at before.
  9. I agree. I just don't want the physicality and rebounding prowess of his to be affected. It also seems our staff don't care about teaching our bigs post moves. I don't want Dwight to start looking like Horford in the physicality and rebounding department is all I'm saying. Hope I'm worrying over nothing.
  10. Bruh it's to late. Have you seen the Twitter video clips of Howard working on his free throws and mid range jumper? I just hope it doesn't affect Dwight physicality on offense. I don't want to see him passing up a favorable matchup in the paint to bail the defender out with a jumper. I'm not sure how I'm going to view bud if Dwight starts becoming finesse next season. On the other hand, the good side to this is if he adds the jumper to his game he won't be as limited in the playoffs when they clog the paint against him.
  11. Wow thanks guys. That makes his assist stats even more impressive!
  12. Thanks for the info Serbian hawk. If you don't mind me asking, what do you mean by assists in Europe count differently?
  13. I hope we keep Thabo and Baze. It will allow us to be able to bring them along at whatever pace Bud needs to ingratiate them into the Bud Ball University like he did with Tim last year. A players first few years are usually the most critical in developing their foundation in the system and habits. As far as Korver goes, I think he is still starter quality. The main problem I see, mainly due to talent or development, is we need the person playing the 3 to be at least a well rounded player. Korver draws so much attention when running through all those screens that Baze's and point guard's defender are usually put in a bind to help. If Baze had better handles to go with his athleticism and if our point guards can become better shooters, it will open the offense even more. We need Baze to improves his handles for this season to become a better slasher or penetrator. Opposing teams know Sap and Teague or Dennis are the only ones they have to adjust for on those Korver close outs. They will take their chances on Baze and Horford being limited to being mostly set jumpshooters and/or let our pgs hoist up a jumpshot. We aren't making defenses pay when they have to send that much help to Korver. I am looking forward to Baze taking his game to the next level. He, Tim and Dennis aren't afraid to take shots and don't get down when it isn't falling. They have the most athleticism on the team. If they can continue to work on their complete game (shooting, slashing, penetrating), we would increase the number of stars on this team easily. I would include Hordord in the convo but he seems content with just being a set jumpshooter with only an ability to drive right confidently. I wish he would workout with Sap and borrow some of his moves. We would be almost unguardable.
  14. Lol at least he would have had him work with whoever helped Baze and Carroll.
