  1. I'm anxious to see the Hawks play vs some elite teams with bigs. I want to see if the Hawks have made enough improvement to squash that weakness. Keep injury free especially in the playoffs. Even if it meant a lower seed cone playoff time stay healthy.
  2. What is needed? How about the Hawks practice their free throws. I know it's easy to over look but can make a difference in a playoff game. Improved shooting from the outside. Although the Hawks beat the 76ers I wish they had a guy like Curry. He just seemed to kill the Hawks.
  3. Looks like Vegas is underestimating the Hawks. I've heard teams will be prepared next season. No sneaking up on them. Will see but I think you need to be able to show flexibility in playing certain teams. For example the Bucks have bigs so now the Hawks can throw Dieng,CC and OO at them and Collins. I sure hope Hawks are practicing their free throws. It might not seem like a big deal but it is in the playoffs. Health obviously a critical factor so pace yourself but make sure your healthy come the playoffs.
  4. Excellent move. You see the teams that want to win a championship by the moves they make in the off season. Got to stack the lineup add depth and be able to play different styles of ball when playing the elite. Because of the Hawks run in the playoffs maybe will get some players a bit cheaper because they want a championship. Tired of seeing teams like the Lakers and others get quality players cheap. Keep up the good work TS.
  5. I saw that don't know if that's a good thing or not.
  6. I'm also not buying the when Hunter and Reddish come back the Hawks rebounding will get better against elite teams. I'd like to see a big that can get boards.
  7. Collins had his moments in the playoffs good and bad. There were times when the Bucks just dominated the Hawks on the boards. Where was Collins? Both Capella and JC you didn't even think they were on the floor vs the Bucks who got 2nd,3rd etc shots. Scoring wise games where JC was invisible . The man's almost 7 ft where's his post up game? Get a steady jump shot. If the Hawks are going to pay this kind of money then JC needs to take his game to another level. There are to many players that sign the big contract and don't play up to it. Generally what you see is what you get from players. I hope JC improves and like all the Hawks work on your #%%@ free throws. How many points were thrown away by not making a free throw.
  8. Hawks need to get bigger. You can't teach 7 ft and it shows deep in the playoffs. While Collins also got boards it just seemed he and Cap could not hang with the better rebounding teams. Overall Hawks need to do a better job boxing out and not allowing 2nd,3rd etc shots.
  9. Would be hard to get Wiseman. Other than Trae and Capella alot of young players who haven't reached star potential. I doubt the Hawks deal Capella right now with OO hurting. Wonder if theirs a way to send Collins and another to Warriors. Think they have cap problems though unfortunately.
  10. Do you think the Hawks package is greater than the Clippers or Washington package?
  11. Just doing some sleuthing on Wiseman. What I found so far is Golden State is ready to win now and Wiseman it might take him awhile to be a force in the league. His athleticism is jaw dropping running up and down the floor. I have heard names like Beal and Paul George as possible deals for him being the key in a package. Do the Hawks even have enough to get him? Do they need him?
  12. Lol.Yep I remember. Sometimes a change of environment can do wonders though. I would hope Hawks GM has enough connections to find out what's going on.
  13. Sounds like a good strategy the more picks the more chances to hit the big one. I agree the Athletic with these scouting reports are worth the money. If Hawks don't trade down I'd be happy with Butler . Just pick the BPA if no trade down.
  14. Before I do any deals there must be a way to find out why Golden State would deal a big with this potential. Is he a locker room cancer? Doesn't get along with certain players or coaches? Is a stat padder? You see the tools but these questions need to be answered. If everything checks out find a way to get him.
  15. Wiseman's quickness, hops, ability to block shots and get up and down the floor not many bigs can keep up with. I'm not sure the Hawks have enough without giving up Hunter or O to get him. I just saw a deal sending Beal and another for Wiseman etc... thats how some teams value him. I know the Hawks came so close to getting to the finals and injuries were a huge factor but bigs like Wiseman don't come around often. Worth looking into and seeing what the Warriors want.
  16. I'm with Diesel on this about Wiseman. Hawks need to get this man he can be a difference maker. As to why Golden State wants to deal him a mystery. How many athletic 7 footers become available and young. He's just scratching the surface of his ability. The risk/reward is to great. The game is about mismatches and few bigs can do what Wiseman has the potential to do. Outside of Hunter and Trae I'd deal any of the Hawks. Hawks need some size and Wiseman would add a dimension that isn't on the team with his athleticism and height.
  17. I would much rather tank and perhaps hopefully get lucky during the draft as opposed to what we had before a team whose max potential was to get to the semifinals and get creamed. This was the year where the new run and gun Warrior type offense became the new league norm and the Hawks were at the forefront of that movement. Funny thing happened the league adjusted and the Hawks became less dominant. Even winning did not draw top free agents to Atlanta. Teams must have at least one superstar if not more to have a realistic chance of winning it all and being competitive to win championships .The Hawks had maxed out, were not going to get any superstar free agents thus remain in the middle of the pack for what 15 yrs or how ever many. Tanking doesn't asure any team of building a championship team however for clubs like Sacramento ,Phoenix,Dallas,Atlanta it might be their one shot of getting a possible super star and as we see its a huge race for the worst record from many of these teams. All having the most ping pong balls do is allows you to get the player you want if drafting 1st. Its up to the GM to evaluate the talent correctly and make the right pick no matter where you draft. I'd rather have first shot than 4th or 5th getting the player you want than missing out on him. Who knows who will exactly be a superstar (Bridges,JJJ,Ayton) but you have to hope you make the right pick.
  18. I agree with the 3 previous posters(CBAreject,Sothron,AHF ) Hawks need to do everything possible to secure as high a pick as possible. We have been down this road before with bazemore having a contract year playing his best.Dedmon will want to much money and where as this guy been his whole career except lately he is playing well. Only player I see as a core guy is Collins the rest are spare parts. Schröder isn't the kind of point guard who makes other players better by distributing which is what you want from a point guard. Hawks need to focus on getting high potential players who can be stars. Sure you can get draft busts in the top 3 however the point of having the highest pick possible is so you get your man and isn't off the board come the Hawks pick. Can the GM pick the right player that remains to be seen but will have to see. Hawks have come this far in position to get a top pick why blow the rest of the season with meaningless wins. The players are playing for their contracts or playing time so they want to win and are looking for dollars/playing time at this point. The smart fans realize winning games now lowers their draft position and want the right player. If I am Hawks management I do what is needed to secure the Hawks on getting the best draft pick.
  19. Once again Hawks management comes through as underwelming.Hawks probably offered 10 cents to the dollar for their players simply because many teams are trying toget rid of players thus driving the cost way down.Hawks can't sign significant free agents the only thing they can hope for is a high pick to get a potential superstar.Unfortunately other teams are trying the same thjng so it will be a dog fight for the top picks.
  20. Hawks have alot of parts but one core player Schröder and even he might not be in the Hawks long term plans.Players will always want to win ganes due to their competiveness however in this case management must decide what is best for the Hawks long term .Make no moves tgat make a difference or a small move that tells me alot about ownership.Of course having the most pong balls doesn't asure you of the no1 pick and you still have to pick the right player but it gives you more choices than picking 3rd,4th,5th.I'd behappy with any of the big 4 .I think Young could be a game changer.
  21. Bazemore is killing this team with big games.Hawks management seems to be asleep at the wheel not realizing every win puts them another chance not ro get the man they want.Other than Schröder I don't see any core players and even Schröder could get moved.Hawks need no1 pick AND pick the right player.Right now Ayton,Bagley Lukoc and Young seem to be the top 4 candidates. There are a number of teams trying to tank so its conceivable the Hawks might end up picking 5th or lower leaving them without the player they want.Leave it to Atlanta to screw up a sorry season by getting meaningless wins.
  22. The real issue is the Hawks need a big man and reliable scorer at crunch time. Al is a nice player but he isn't the big man the Hawks need for the Hawks to reach the next level. Al will get his rebounds and points but a player who can block shots and get rebounds would do the Hawks nicely. I know they are hard to find(big men) but Ferry has got to do what is needed if the team ever wants to seriously be considered a team capable of winning a championship. Miami isn't going to fade away anytime soon so the Hawks need to start acquiring more talent. Milsap and Horford are nice pieces, Teague proved he can take over a game but more is needed. A crunch time scorer example not afraid to shoot the ball when it matters. I noticed this during the Indiana last game no one could hit a shot and it seemed players were shying away from taking the shot. What Ferry accomplished was refreshing but some how some way Ferry must bring in much needed talent to keep this team growing and finally putting the NBA on notice the Hawks have a team in Atlanta to worry about. It always sees like Atlanta is the Siberia of the NBA and no free agents want to sign except Milsap.I'm hoping players will now consider the Hawks since they had a good showing in the playoffs.
  23. I would love Shaq as a Hawk. He would give us some toughness and at least we would be able to show a different look to teams like Orlando who play around with the current Hawk squad since it's to small. I know Shaq can't play alot of minutes but we have to do something or else be stuck in the 3rd or 4th best team in the Eastern Conference for a long time. I'm for trading anyone to get Paul but I wonder if Charlotte would do it..I'd hate to see Horford go but if it was a deal breaker then yes. I hope we can get rid of Marvin because of the contract. Doesn't give enough production and signing JJ were becoming a team that won't be able to do much because of overpaying players.I'm not saying Marvin for Paul but Smoove most likely would be part of the package. We can ship Marvin somewhere else and hopefully find a small forward that can actually score consistently(not Childress). Hawk fans need some new blood to get excited about. Just hiring Drew as coach isn't enough to boost fan attendance. ASG put its money where it's mouth was and resigned JJ so at least their not cheap. Keep adding to the talent base we need to close the gap with other teams ahead of us.
