  1. Honestly i think we are just deep, because we starting with low qualitiy that the from the backups to the starters isn't big. I would rate the bench from must of the mentioned teams better then the hawks bench, even when some players ain't as close to the rotation as on the hawks roster.
  2. The commentory asked Dennis abtut the flight, which should be tough with a back injury. Dennis was replying that it was ok and his back is fine. Bus didnt planned to play him, and his tight back get the reason instead a cd ( and i would guess that this is more protectioning dennis from german media then team intrest since dennis wasnt the only one who gets rested)
  3. First of all he didn't said they are tanking. Second mistake you are making, he didn' say his back injury wasn't there (he just said it wasnt severe), he said he could have played ... some Coaches even like when Player like to Play even when it isnt a smart decision, und when you look on the po there is huge difference betwenn "he is playing with this sickness/injury" in comparision to the rs. The league aint punishing teams for not playing there key players, even when u are telling it twice it dont get true. It is even quite common on successful Teams, so no Trouble for the team only if they like surprise the Next Opponent. So i dont comprendo what you are telling because i Miss all the facts you are argumenting with. For me it is no Surprise, hat this isnt a News vor the Media... the Interview indeed was full of it, he gets a owner he is most likely playing for the nationalteam etc.
  4. I alsi have trouble to see it as a topic, dnp-cd arent rare they are quite common. I believe even in this game others had it. He said he Amharic a slight pain, so they decide to use it as a reason but you don't need to worry about him. Esexially since there are plenty of other interesting things in the interview. It is also not bad to be ambitious, and he isn't saying that he want to get to the medals in the next tournament but in the next years ( and he doesn't wanted to give a prediction for the next one)
  5. I dont think that gets a topic, he said also that is back was a little bit tight. Maybe to honest, maybe also a unlucky word about the worrys of the interviewer about his back ... But overall he announced that he gets part of the ownership of his old local basketball team, which is basically the news from this interview. Edit: He is quite ambtious with his new old team, but i doubt he would be involved much . Since before there where rumors that he is preparing a deal it with a sports agentur. Additionally he said he is going to play for the nationalteam in summer, which probadly gets the new when the first topic gets to boring.
  6. Funny to read this from a dude who started a discussion like this:
  7. Korvers impact on the 60 win season was huuuuge, there where method who rates defensiv attention where he was top ranked in the league slithly behind Lebron. When he moved (and he was always moving in this year) he put the defens eon his feet. Also he was in all good line up, and maybe someone can check his +/- ratings from the team over the season.
  8. 96 is quite low considering that there are 150 Starters in the nba, and probadly in average 1 bench dude with roughly the same minutes and resposibility for each team we are at 180 players. And most likely the best Hawk is below average?
  9. Just an update on those two players, theis got an contract at Boston and Kleber in Dallas. Asi said i liked to see Theis here, let's see how they perform in the NBA and if they get serious playing time or end just as end of the bench guys. Another player from this game, who got an NBA contract this year was Darius Miller (New Orleans).
  10. Most likely you are right, but i am curious how Theis would do in the NBA and i could imagine that he will use this chance. (but thats something u can say about pther sl players to, who don't get tested in the NBA)
  11. During his visit in germany Bud was visiting a PO match with Dennis where he was looking for players of both team, later Dennis said to german Media that they are looking for Theis and Kleber (maybe more?). http://www.spox.com/de/sport/ussport/nba/1705/News/dennis-Schröder-atlanta-hawks-daniel-theis-holen.html Daniel Theis: http://www.easycredit-bbl.de/de/statistiken/spieler/portraits/p/11634-daniel-theis/ Theis get elected defensiv player of the year in the BBL recently after finishing second in the year before. In germany he plays the 4 and 5 i think in the nba he would be on the four primary since he isn't that tall. He has good footwork and speed, and scores primary with his face to his basket with a good mid range shot and willingness to dunk. Here an old Highllight tape from him: Probadly you noticed the player with the seventeen on his team, Theis is a good Buddy from Dennis who played togehther in the youth squads, and makes there first steps as pros together. He was often the pick and roll partner and recipent of alley hoops from Dennis, so you saw quite a lot from him when you followed the discussions when Dennis was drafted. Dennis said he will fight to get him over, and oi would say he is worth a shot he won't be outstanding but would be a good and cheap option for the end of the bench. Bud mentions that he liked what he saw from him. New Highlights: Kleber: http://www.easycredit-bbl.de/de/statistiken/spieler/portraits/p/14374-maximilian-kleber/ Was a big talent in germany who had a lot of bad luck with injurys, he has a real smooth game with a lot of different moves which i like to watch (also a good footwork). He has more Range then Theis but he is missing that smashing mentality and physicality from Theis. He would be a nba caliber player if he was healthy in the past maybe a good one, but i doubt he will reach the potential he had. Some rather old footage of him: Now you know that i have to much time, but maybe you know a little bit more about possibly future backups and two of the plenty player the hawks are watching. If this isn't the right forum please move it ;) Off season is long, even before it really started :(
  12. One Problem with Dwight is also that the defenses realised that they could use his poor foul shooting, after that his dominance declined ... Even if he get the Ball in the Post he rushes his offense, since he know that the defender is better off sending him to the line, then try to defend and fight for position first. i would also say that Dwight was able to finish through contact in the past, while +1 (even with missed FT) get quite rare these days. Also he don't get the ball out again, ok we don't have the shooters like ORL but even in Houston this was a Problem (where he also had the most touches in Post of the NBA without using it). I liked the Parker comparision more then the Rondo one, yes Parker/Wall still find better options on offense but defense Strenght always was the pick and roll + spot up shooter (which we miss this season). In his "youth" he was also somehow who throw up many lob passes (with good success rate) , after the pick something i hope dwight could do too but he doesn't was an option there. He need works to get to elite status, but i dont think that Dwight should blame anybody then himself,
  13. the second quote should be from sothron, but i find it a bit respectless yes they are different kind of players, but if Al would hit 40% Freethrows he also would get 20 shots since must fouls on dwight wasn't because he was so tough they was more like let him gives freethrows before he shots (or foul him hard if he shots the ball). And yes they was both very different types of player, but Al was an important part of the success the last years and helped us with his way of playing the game.
  14. At least you mentioned the length of his arms, right now i would say the people look more then the "real" height for the wingspan. Long arms mean you dribble lower, usually smaller people can change direktion easier etc. As the stats show he is hard to defend at the rim, cause of his athletics and i would say speed and handly are more important for a guard to score inside ... Besides livingston i don't see any Point Guard who post up more regulary, which is indeed a weakness in Dennis game. (defensiv after rotation offensiv it is unimportant) And sorry Paul is one of he best, the west is damn strong and he hadn't that strong team around him for a long time that he had to reach it. And when it is an weakness it is more a mental one, then a physical one.
  15. I am not sure if we are better off or not, but i would say it is different and that we need some time to adjust to get and use the open spaces now. This won't be the full season, but i would be surprised if everything is working from day one like we just change 1 player for me it is an change in the offensiv approach. About Kyle i hope he is still running, he was the key 2 years ago, as a player who creates without even touching the ball - there was stats out there that he had as much off the ball attention then James and he was always on the moves which makes the defense move against there number one thread. Last year wasn't that strong for him, but him running through the d still makes the d worry because he can shoot even when he had to work for it and is not a stretcher who stands in the corner waiting for a pass.
