  1. Scott Layden was fired by the Knicks and I. Thomas is replacing him as GM of the Knicks. The AP just reported the story. I think I. Thomas is a poor GM. So I don't know if this helps NY that much. But then again Layden was horrible. P
  2. This is an article from Sean Devaney of the Sporting News. Why I don't necessarily believe Rivers is thinking like this, it doesn't seem like it is a shoe in for him to come to Atlanta. Hawks coach Terry Stotts pulled SG Jason Terry from the starting lineup last week for being late for a walk-through. Terry took just one shot in 16 minutes, causing Stotts to question Terry's effort. Terry told reporters, "I wasn't impressed with the way he coached tonight, either." Et tu, Jason? For all the malcontents on Atlanta's roster, Terry has been the good soldier, and the fact that Stotts no longer has his attention means he pretty much has lost control of these Hawks. But the team has not made a move to replace him, not with the Hawks' new ownership still a work in progress. The hope in Atlanta is that Doc Rivers will take over and inject some life into the struggling franchise. Don't count on it -- Rivers' ABC gig begins on Christmas Day and a league source says, "(Rivers) does not want to go back to a bad situation. Atlanta is a bad situation." Of course, there could be a wide range of opportunities available soon. The Knicks, who long have coveted Rivers, are mulling a coaching change. The Nets probably won't keep Byron Scott, and that likely is the job that would most interest Rivers. . . .
  3. Diesel why don't you shut up. I didn't care if Big Dog left or not. So get over yourself. What do you want an award or somehting. Maybe if you removed your mouth from his D!@! for a second you could see other things going on the league. Besides your trades of the day. I'm just tired of hearing Big Dog this and Big Dog that. I have said this numerous times in the past. He is gone. Move on. Talk about today's team and not yesterdays. If you prove me wrong on something I man enough to come on and give you credit. But, like I said I never cared if Big Dog left or not. Also if I was right about something I wouldn't be making a post everyday bragging about. Your such an A@#Hole some time. Sometimes you bring good things to the table and other times you are just an idiot.
  4. I agree whole heartedly with that Diesel. You might want to throw in Glover as well.
  5. Can you please shut up about Big Dog? Who gives a F#@%! I didn't care if we kept him or if he stayed. But he's gone, get over it. I'm so sick of hearing about Big Dog.
  6. No one said it is just JT's fault. But, I do feel JT is part of the problem. I think they should explore all offers for him. I was always skeptical on trading him, but now the only person on the team I wouldn't trade is Reef. Send everyone else out of here. For those of you who likes JT, please read the AJC article today. Those quotes he made gave after the game are inexcusable. I think the coaching is bad, rolling his eyes before he speaks. I hope it just was a bad night for him. But what a punk A@#! That is no respect for the coach. Send him to the Blazers he will fit right in with that attitude. I'm not here to praise Stotts. But, players need to have respect for the coach. Since JT was late for the shoot around he deserves to be benched. He needs to recognize this and except his punishment instead of being a child about things. Grow up. You know what it is to have an opportunity to make millions of dollars and play a game for living. That just made me so mad today when I read those quotes. What a B*(%$, JT is. To not play because you get benched. Grow up punk. P
  7. Just in case you forgot. They will have P. Byrd back. So I don't know how Alvarez will fit into the mix. Maybe as insurance if Byrd doesn't return to form. P
  8. I wouldn't get all in a panic. We aren't going to win a championship this year. I believe trades will be made over the course of this year and over the summer. As well as front office positions will be changed. As much as you hate the losing it is going to happen. People will just have to deal with it. Until the new owners finally take over and we find teams that will make trades. People have to realize it takes two teams to trade. Also, a team must want a player off your team and you have to get a reasonable player or pick in return. I don't think anyone is excepting the status quo. Why would the owners by a team to have them be the same or worse then when they got them? Unless your team was already championship caliber. Things will get better you will just have to be patient. I think the only thing you can take solice in is that there will be new owners and changes will happen through the course of this year. Until then just hope the team starts to play better ball or improves on their mistakes. But, don't hold your breath.
  9. I hate to pile on Play, but you are too one sided most of the time. And most give you the benefit of the doubt on things because Reef is the best player on the team. But last night Reef was awful. He was not aggressive at all. I hate when he is settling for jump shots. He should be taking people off the dribble. Not to mention he had nothing down low when he got it down low. Gasol was blocking every shot he put up. Not to mention the layups I saw Reef miss. There is no reason some skinny B(*$# takes him to school. But Gasol did just that offensively and defensively. This was by no means Stotts fault. I don't thing Stotts is the reason we lost this one. Just another bad game for the Hawks. Terry and Reef had bad games. Sometimes you have to look in the mirror and admit when you have a bad game instead of blaming others. We all get caught up in not wanting to say something negative about our favorite players but no one is perfect. And last night Reef was awful. I'm sure he will bounce back. P
  10. Don't get me wrong I like Sheff. And I would have wanted him to stay, but don't let the door hit your ass. I would hope his leaving would allow us to make a serious run for Vlad. But, back to Sheff. I love his quote of if the Yankees don't when I shoulder the blame. Boy that was far from the truth here in Atlanta. Where he got only two hits and three walks in 10 postseason games with Atlanta. He had two good regular seasons with the Braves. But when it really counted he was a no show. That's all that matters. P
  11. The four horsemen were pretty good in wrestling Blanchard, Olie & Arn Anderson and the Nature Boy "Ric Flair" WOOOOOO WOOOOOOOOOOO P
  12. Diesel, This actually good deal. The question is would Phoenix go for it. If they would we shouldn't hesitate in making this move. P
  13. I did notice the Reef incident. But, I don't think Reef was upset about that play necessarily. I think Reef is upset that JT is just dumb. I like JT as much as the next Hawks fan. But, the more I have watched him this year the more I have come to a conclusion that he just isn't smart with the ball. Last night he made bad pass after bad pass. When we are on the break I keep my fingers crossed that he scores. Otherwise he finds a way to F' it up. He had a three on two last night and instead of taking a layup tries to drop off a pass and it is intercepted. That is unacceptable when you have the odds in your favor. Not to mention the countless times he makes bad entry passes in our halfcourt offense. A couple of times he just threw it out of bounces. One time he had a clear jumper in the lane and instead of taking the shot he slipped a pass to one of our big men between two defenders. He was lucky it didn't get stolen. He should have just shot the 5 foot shot. After watching his pathetic passing ability. I have come to the conclusion with JT. Just shoot, don't try to pass. Run plays where he doesn't have to touch the ball until he gets in a scoring threat. The only assists he gets now is off the pick and roll with whoever is near. I don't see him creating shots for others. But I wouldn't get rid of him yet. I think he could be a good scorer in this league if we can it another point guard. Or we should just move him to SG and play JV with him. He is deadly from the outside and is quick to the hoop. I don't agree with some that think he should come off the bench. I think he can be a valuable starter, once he is put in the right situation. But it is obivious he doesn't know how to run an offense. P
  14. This maybe one of the best posts on this site. Nice work Dr. Zachary. Also, I love how everyone ignores the post. Like it never appeared on their computer screens. As much as everyone likes claim they know the truth. They can't stand it when people get called out themselves. This was good stuff. P
  15. I keep hearing about this deal between the Raptors and Bulls and it got me thinking about a possible deal with the Raptors One of the guys mentioned in the trade rumors for the Raptors is A. Williams. What's the possibility of us getting A. Williams? Maybe the following: D. Glover for A. Williams We may have to throw in additional players for cap reasons. I think it would be a good fit for us. It would allow JT to move to SG. I know the Bulls don't want A. Williams they prefer A. Davis. So why don't we go after A. Williams. Just a thought. P
  16. I forgot to follow up on another point and that is if you look through the all the years that Chipper has been in the playoffs. He is the only player on the team that puts up any offensive numbers. This was his first bad postseason. Besides Andruw's first game in NY, he hasn't done anything in the postseason. P
  17. Hot, I think even with Chipper's poor playoff performance this past year it was still better than Andruw's. If not I don't think Andruw out did him by much. [censored], Chipper won one of the playoff games himself. Which is more that Andruw can say. Also, just because Andruw had more HR's and RBI's doesn't mean he had a better year than Chipper. Chipper wasn't too far behind in either category. Plus his strikeouts are less, he hits for better average and draws more walks. Simply put Chipper is better. You talk about the upside with Andruw and you ignored my comment I stated before. He has been the league for six years. When is that upside coming. You have to wonder if it hasn't come now, when will it. You ignored Sheffield's remarks that Andruw doesn't want it bad enough. I like Andruw as much as any Brave, but Chipper is much better. But the sad think is that Andruw could be the best Brave ever(possibly), but he doesn't want it enough. So, with that I would keep Chipper and trade Andruw. Also, they make about the same yearly. Chipper may make a million more that's it. I agree Giles and DeRosa were the only ones to hit in the playoffs.
  18. Just to clarify, Stotts only spent a half year under Kruger. He has spent his entire career under George Karl. Every where George has gone, so has Terry. So I wouldn't say Kruger's style has rubbed off on Stotts. The way the team is playing is the only thing they have in common.
  19. Trading Chipper, that is just stupid. The guy isn't overpaid first of all, at least by baseball standards. If you ask me everyone in baseball is overpaid. Chipper had another solid year. Let alone he is the only Brave that shows up in the postseason. I say if we had to trade one of the two, trade Andruw. Just because he plays good defense doesn't mean we should keep him. This guys shows no effort and that he doesn't care. Every year is suppose to be his breakout year. So when is it going to be? Even Sheff says this guy can be a monster, but he doesn't want it bad enough. Let alone he strikes out way too much. I would like to see us keep them both. But, if we trade Andruw to get Vazquez or Vidro and some speedy OF that can steal bases I'm all for it. At least I know Chipper shows up when it matters. When has Andruw? How long are you willing to wait for Andruw? You talk about Chipper's attitude being poor. Look at Andruw's he has no drive what so ever. Because if he did he would already be a superstar by now.
  20. Maybe Weez can post today's insider for baseball. I know it talks about the Braves wanting to keep Sheffield, but if they can't they will go after Vlad Guerrero. I would be interested to see how that article reads. P
  21. I would be careful before giving to much value to stats. Statistics can show anything you want them to show. Sometimes you have to look deeper than the statistics. Diesel had post askng how bad are the centers of the Hawks definsively. Because they get outscored by a large margin. Well I would say that Theo is an above average defender. I think we would all agree. But, he is bad offensively and thus it makes our centers look like they are bad because they get outscored by so much point wise. You follow what I'm saying sometimes statistics can be misleading. P
  22. I pose another question to everyone regarding Nique as the president of this team. Do you think he will have power within the organization? I don't know if this is true or not, but I don't think he will. I don't think he will have final say on issues. He will be in on all discussions, but ultimately I think someone else will be having the final yes or no. Who that is at this time I don't know. Just my opinion. I maybe wrong. P
  23. Let me state, I didn't care that we traded Big Dog and I didn't care if we kept him. So I feel I'm neutral on the subject. But in defense to those who said trade him, I will say this: For Diesel to stand up and brag about how we should have kept the Big Dog is silly. Diesel, you can do this after game 30 or 42 or at the end of the year. But, it has been only 7 games. Talk smack all you want, but a fair evaluation will be at least the middle of the season. I think most would agree. Let us also look at how Philly is doing at that time as well. To see if Big Dog made the impact you thing he is. But, until middle of the season what's the point of you talking trash about I told you so. The Hawks won last night Diesel. I told you they were better without Big Dog. Now doesn't that sound stupid it. Of course it does. So let's see how the season unfolds before we start bashing others on what they have said. You very well maybe right, but lets see what takes place. Give the season a chance. P
  24. I was just joking. Unfortunately I won't be making the game since I don't live in the ATL. But, I plan on catching the Hawks both times they are in Orlando. If anyone is making the trip for that let me know. P
  25. Hey nice picture of you, but I can't see your face your head is cut off in the picture. Tell the guy bend a little lower so we can get a look at your face. P Here is my photo http://profiles.yahoo.com/phoostal
