  1. As I've said numerous times, the trade value of Horford is utterly ridiculous to some people on this board. As a soon to be free agent, looking for a max deal, with declining numbers, he isn't going to pull in the haul that most people think he will.
  2. He's not an All-Star anymore. And since when is Hood on a bottom team? Teague has one year left on his contract so I'd hardly call that "great". It is for decent money, don't get me wrong, but hardly great since it will rise quite a bit next summer.
  3. It is one of the better trades I've seen thus far. I saw one that included Hawyard over Hood and a few other pieces mixed in. I just don't think that Hayward is going to be moved. The Jazz love him and he's perfect for what they do. They'll have to give up one of their young wings to find a PG though. Hood would be the best option to me since Alec Burks is getting paid too much and Hayward is their "guy". The addition of Booker is what I really like as depth in the frontcourt.
  4. Hawks Hoop had a piece a month or so ago about what Orlando might want in a deal if the Hawks decided to tear it all up. http://hawkshoop.com/what-a-tear-down-and-rebuild-might-look-like/ I believe it was Millsap for Tobias Harris and Oladipo, not sure if a pick was included or not.
  5. Teague/THJ/Moose to the Jazz for Hood/Burke/Booker http://soaringdownsouth.com/2016/01/29/atlanta-hawks-trade-target-4-hood-burke-booker/ What does Hawk Nation say about this idea?
  6. Milwaukee would laugh us back to Atlanta. In no way are they trading Giannis and especially not for Teague. And then adding in Henson would mean the Hawks absolutely raped them in the deal.
  7. There is no one on the Pistons' roster (available in a trade) that I would want. They aren't getting rid of Drummond, Jackson, KCP or S. Johnson so who would make us better? No one. For all the complaining on these boards about moving Al Horford, Detroit is one of the few teams where a deal makes zero sense in what they'd be willing to give up.
  8. Since I have a friend who works for Soaring, what stupid posts are the "norm". Love to see them. I read them regularly along with Peachtree and I don't see any of what you are referring to. Very doubtful you've read more than one or two pieces based on your assumption. And if you are referring to these trade scenarios then you need to try and read a full post before you make comments. They are all hypothetical based on players who are "rumored" to be on the block. Simply hypothetical's for conversation purposes.
  9. Successful? No. Failure? No. I'd give it a "meh". Pretty much what the entire season has been like. Or the last 10 years...
  10. Please go back and read my post again before freaking out. I only proposed the deal since he started this whole thing with a Nuggets trade offer. I even said "I'm not suggesting we make this deal" and that it wouldn't make us better this season. Reading comprehension... And I still maintain that you overvalue what Al Horford would/should fetch in a trade. Other teams know that he's going to command a massive salary this summer and that he's merely a rental or a guy you have to pay $25M to moving forward so he's not going to bring back a super star. So the same issue remains, we either let him walk for nothing or pay him the ridiculous amount of money he'll want and then be in the same boat next year.
  11. Forgot to add in that I believe Kyle could be flipped again to a contender at the deadline. Cleveland or OKC probably, so the Nuggets would pick up more assets. Teague could be used as trade bait as well for a team like the Knicks. Basically, Nuggets get a ton of cap space, a few picks and a roster that allows their young players to develop.
  12. I'd love to have Faried on this roster with what he brings to the table and his contract over the next 3+ years, but I'm not giving all of that up for him. And that's essentially what you are doing because Hickson isn't in the long term plans and Nelson is no better than Mack at this point in his career. I'd much rather see something like this if we made a deal with Denver. I'd send our first rounder next year their way as well. http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=hjc2joo We wouldn't be better this season, but with Chandler next year along with Faried off the bench then I'd be on board. And we'd still have some cap space if we declined Mack's option. Now that is completely a hypothetical and I only proposed it since you offered up a Nuggets trade. I'm not really suggesting we try and make that deal as I think there are too many moving parts with it and I don't know how I'd feel about starting Splitter next year.
  13. I wasn't a member back then, but if people were seriously upset at letting Smooth walk then they obviously were speaking through their hearts and not their basketball minds since Josh was an Atlanta native and was a fan favorite for a few years. I was a huge fan of Millsap. Didn't like the DMC signing too much so I was clearly wrong about that one. The truth of the matter is, there is no trade outside of us bringing in a super star, already signed to a long-term deal, that is team friendly, for our role players and zero draft picks involved that will make some on these boards happy.
  14. The Hawks' chances of getting back to the ECF hinge on two things. 1. Jeff Teague getting healthy 2. Some sort of move at the deadline to improve the roster, whether that be a big splash or just a depth guy I don't like the long-term outlook for this team as it is currently constructed due to the core being 30+ aside from Bazemore. But all of that could change in a split second at the deadline or even in free agency this summer. I get mad at times with this team, but I've never given up hope and I'll continue to watch night in and night out.
  15. If Baze commands a salary around $12M and then we resign Al to the max then this team is doomed to another 3-4 years of mediocrity. And that's not to say that I don't want to keep Baze, but we wouldn't be able to improve this team next season if that was the case, unless of course we made a trade of some kind. The year after we would have some money to spend with Teague, Splitter, Thabo, Scott (TO) and Mack (TO) off the books but then it would be time to g-up Dennis. Thus why I keep advocating trading Horford now and moving in a different direction.
