  1. This one is just for fun! Everyone share the the cause of their Celtic hate (I'm assuming many share my extreme dislike). Paul Pierces bitching and moaning, Garnett's tough guy act, Rando's punk attitude, the Bird era playoff dominance of the Hawks, and their obnoxious fans top my list... There are so many reasons I can't wait to hear some other people's main reasons.
  2. Thanks I figured there was a CBA reason for these deals. I think we did use our LLE or another exception for this signing.
  3. Is there a capologist here that knows if some arcane subsection of the CBA is the reason for these 2 year deals va taking on a team option for a third year. ?
  4. Exactly, plus the perception of the short falls in Al's game will be magnified considerably when the media in Boston is calling him out for every 3 rebound game or poor shooting performance. The Atlanta media never said much and the national media pretty much ignores the Hawks. A couple of playoff choke jobs and early round exits in Boston he won't be a stretch 4 playing out of position but a soft center that won't rebound and can't close out games. He wasn't blamed hurt that bad for his playoff choking here. He will be crucified for it in Boston. Three years from now he won't be a max premier FA but an over paid above average player that people will say has a bad contract and can't perform when it matters. Boston fans will be steady bitching in year 4 not begging for another max extension after they get a better up close look at Al.
  5. Confucius say player choke in playoff excuse must be proclaimed Players scorn prior team Much internet hate they will receive Ron Burgandy say "You stay classy Al & Jeff"
  6. Good point and I doubt hurt knee or no hurt knee we would have gotten a much higher pick or a an additional second for him. we were probably locked on our pick anyway and it wouldn't have made a difference if we were a few spots higher.
  7. Any body with Insider want to throw up the Pelton article apparently he gives our move today high marks and it is a rare day when the 4 letter says a damn thing good about the Hawks?
  8. I am too I expect him to be our number 2 PG next year. He has pro experience and should be able to play a reserve role immediately. I would like a cagey vet PG as our third to teach him and Dennis some tricks of the trade and vet moves and coach from the sideline on what they are seeing.
  9. I hope he is ready for the venom and hate he is going to get from those "great" Boston fans when he camps his ass at the top of the key and doesn't rebound and has his first cold shooting night and the Boston media lights him up. He may not have the same high opinion after actually playing up there and people expecting him to elevate a team to a being a contender. He was arguably the third best player on our team and he demands a Max deal and throws away millions with his hissy fit when he doesn't get the offer he expected despite getting exactly what he bitched about for years. With the classless way he left I'm glad he is on the team I love to hate. If any body can design a Alice Whoreford tee shirt and throw that shit up on cafe press I will buy Two so I can wear a clean shirt to back to back games!!!!! see you Al hope we see you again in the playoffs and your comments lead to a pissed off D12 punking your ass!!!
  10. I was not aware of all the off the floor issues when I suggested this idea. Knowing it definitely change my opinion on the idea. I just recalled how he played in Denver and thought his style was similar to what our PG's are good at. That and we are really cap strapped now and he would be dirt cheap.
  11. Teague may have gone public after the fact to assuage his own ego and justify his poor play. It definitely could have made other teams nervous about the offers they made though.
  12. I agree his game has declined I didn't look to him to get big minutes at all or contribute much on the game floor but more too mentor the two young PG's we have because his previous play style was similar and he might be able to give them guidance on how to play and teach them some veteran tricks and moves. Honestly I don't want any Vet to hog too many minutes because both the young guys we have will need every minute of game time to learn and grow and I think Dennis will play better if he doesn't worry that he has someone on the bench that could replace him for making a mistake. We need a veteran to be a mentor and player coach on the practice floor and give advice and guidance from the bench during games.
  13. I would be fine with that choice too. I just thought Lawson might come cheaper based on what he settled for last year.
  14. I think it is about ego. Al wanted to be in the "Max" player club and he was also scared to be outplayed by D12 and look soft in comparison as another poster said earlier. He got his feelings hurt when the Hawks didn't max him on the first offer sheet and pitched a little fit and it cost him millions of dollars.
  15. We could easily move these posts to a new thread "Bitches that have played for the Celtics" that would be full of excellent answers!!!!
  16. If Garnett is the Batman of NBA bitches then Paul Pierce has to be his Robin.. No one has ever been "injured" worse and came right back to play through than his Bitch Ass!!!
  17. Unless we sign a veteran pg that still has some game I'm thinking our 2. Pero was the first back up center off the bench when we brought him over. He is also 26 or 27 (I think) and has played a lot of pro ball so he isn't a traditional rookie straight from college. If he runs the team well during the summer league I think he can lock down the primary back up PG to start the year
  18. I completely agree Teague and Horford both would get passive and as the leaders that trickled down to the whole team. With Dennis at the point the mindset of the team will be much aggressive. This team will have more "dog" in them and I won't mind a couple additional techs if we get a more passionate and tougher team.
  19. He and Bud could be drinking buddies then ha ha. I didn't realize he had off the court issues and we don't need that. This definitely changes my thoughts on him being a good mentor. That sucks because I remembered his game as being a good match for the way our PG's play and might teach them a trick or two. Hopefully he has his personal issues addressed for his sake though.
  20. I completely agree. I think next season is full of potential and the Hawks may shock some folks. If nothing else it won't be status quo from the past couple of years.
  21. I think he was a two time 1st team ACC player at Va Tech but not 100% on that been a while since he beat up on my Noles in a game I watched.
  22. I think Ty Lawson is still out there and played on a cheap contract last year for Indy. Releasing Patterson would give a roster spot and probably enough money to sign him to a one year deal. He would bring a veteran "coach" type player for our young PG's. Wouldn't expect a lot out of him but he could be a great mentor on the little things a NBA point has to do to be successful. Any thoughts on if this could be a good fit for the Hawks?
  23. Loving what I'm hearing about the pick up. You can never be sure how defense, rebounding, or creating your own shoot will transfer from the Euro league to the NBA but if you can catch and shoot you can catch and shoot. Court vision also tends to be something you can see transferring. Being clutch is something you either are or your not. In our offense he will get open looks and if he can get his own shot against NBA defense this will be another DMC, Baze steal for the Hawks. The guy looks aggressive too. Teague was often hesitant and that won't be an issue with Dennis. I expect us to play a much more aggressive in offense next year. If Howard starts to demand a double team on the block Sap, Dennis, and our shooters will get great looks and clear driving lanes. Hope he can play defense against NBA PG's but this signing has me excited.
  24. I think the Al got his feelings hurt when the Hawks wouldn't offer a "max" deal because his ego wanted to be in the max player club. Now he wants to justify his decision. Plus I hope this pisses off D12 and makes him even more motivated to punk Al out next season! i also hope Al enjoys being roasted by the Boston media when he plays soft and camps on the top of the key and they lose a game. He may say he didn't like ATL fans but he is gonna miss the ATL media next year.
