Official Game Thread: Pacers at Hawks -- IST Game #3
Lurker replied to lethalweapon3's topic in Homecourt
A full rebuild around Jalen Johnson will look nice in 2-3 years from after next season. -
He really looks like a potential stud so far.

Good to get a win, but man that was a poor finish.

Heck of a turnaround. Now need to survive some non-Murray minutes.

First complete game of the season. Nice. Won't be watching because of CFB but hopefully the Hawks can play a good game vs Milwaukee tomorrow night. -

50-32 Hello, everyone.

tbh, Trae wasn't terrible at deferring when Bogi was on his tear in 20/21. He was only taking about 18 shots per game. I would absolutely look for his shots taken to drop again now, but I would imagine the deep three that frustrates many isn't fully going away (maybe enough go away to where he's a 40-41% three-point shooter, feel like he's a good enough catch and shooter to do it). Feel like you could also easily see this (even though I've said I'd likely look for something like 17/6/6 or so from Murray), which would frustrate some unless we see a deep playoff run behind it as I know some would like to see more of an equal opportunity offense: Young: 24/8 on 46%/40%/90% Murray: 20/7/7 on 46%/33%/80% Everyone else has role player type stats.

Will be fun to see what he can do.

Dejounte may be a PG, but I’d look for him to likely be the second option, he’s clearly highly skilled (honestly, you can see some Jamal Crawford in him, but he may play a lot better defense, while I’ve seen some Jamal highlights, idk how his defense was when he was younger). For an idea of what I think he might be able to do…I’d say maybe 17/6/6? So, I can see Collins being frustrated. He’s been a 20/10 guy previously and likely feels like he can still do that, but he likely won’t be able to show that off as he’s likely the third option. Having said that, he shouldn’t be traded unless you get a really good player in the deal.

Just Kyrie things. Good grief. He's a heck of a talent but man...who would trade for him now? Man's a headcase.

Bootum bootum should make a new video about the Suns backcourt after this game. Just embarrassing.

Official Playoff Game Thread: heat at Hawks -- GAME 4
Lurker replied to lethalweapon3's topic in Homecourt
Thought the game started pretty well, so that was really disappointing. I do have to think that Trae is more hurt than let on. It may not have worked in previous games, but he was at least trying to force the issue and drive in what I saw. This game...not at all after the ankle injury, and there were times where he wasn't even bringing up the ball. So, this season most likely ends with all 3 of the top 3 guys hurt...fitting considering what happened back in December with Omicron. -

It appears that that big Celtics-Nets series that people were thinking was going to be a good one is a bust. As yeah, it's over. Likely Celtics in a sweep, maybe 5 at most. -
Official Playoff Game Thread: Hawks at heat -- GAME 2
Lurker replied to lethalweapon3's topic in Homecourt
Gotta win tonight if we want to see things potentially get spicy. While this is a good home team, we saw that this was not something to count on last year. -
The Hawks can beat anyone in the East outside of Milwaukee (and also lose to anyone, which is a not great side, as those two losses to Detroit were not great at all). I'd be more worried about them instead of Miami. Having said that, even before what happened yesterday, I wasn't really feeling it with this one. Considering Doc's history in the playoffs, I knew Philly was on upset alert last year, but I couldn't get to where I was feeling the same way here even before yesterday. Idk why, maybe one reason why for me is because this is a team that has seen playoff success recently (even if it was in a bubble format). It'd help to win tomorrow, otherwise it's probably Miami in 6 at the most here. I don't think they make the finals though. Their best chance at it would probably be if they saw Brooklyn...think Milwaukee or Boston (yuck) would take them.

Official PLAY-IN Game Thread: Hawks at Cavaliers

Maybe I should talk some ---- before the Sunday game because I quietly did earlier tonight. Well played 2nd half. Great job without Capela. Trae was unbelievable again. -

Okay I apologize for popping that right now. Yikes. Capela going down is terrible for this defense. -

Note to self...it doesn't matter who is in the uniforms here, doesn't matter who is coaching... ...the Hawks will always wet the bet vs the Cavaliers in a playoff type situation. -
That's one heck of an accomplishment.

Official Game Thread: Hawks at Rockets -- The Regular Season Finale!
Lurker replied to lethalweapon3's topic in Homecourt
I can remember years where the 8 seed had 38 wins in the East. This was a strong conference this year. I did expect more though. Maybe it would've happened if **** like the COVID stuff didn't occur. Maybe next season (but the Hawks hopefully have more games to focus on) will be the season that finally starts smoother with Trae.- 130 replies

Right now, Trae Young is not somebody you want to see in a 1 game scenario. I'm sure that since I said that something is going to go wrong, but if we do get past the play in stuff, the playoffs will depend on stealing a game on the road.
