  1. We were 5th in the east. That's a lot of winning to be a mirage. We had a good year and a great playoff run.
  2. Got to love Matty Ice. Maximized his skillset more than anyone i can think of. He and Julio should be super bowl champs. Just a damn shame. They should be remembered for one of the best throws and catches in Super bowl history.
  3. Next year Murray will be making $25 M going up to 31 M over 4 years.
  4. Every season is different but the fact still remains that we were a better team before DJ got here.
  5. I don't have a horse in this race and i know you guys have been going back and forth for a while. For the center position, particularly backup C, i'm definitely taking a chance on the tallest guy in the whole league who might be a little slow. He's not a stiff. He's not a guy who really just wants to be a wing. Get him while we don't have to pay him much and see what happens.
  6. Unfortunately that's like 60 million in the SF position.
  7. Atlanta Hawks star John Collins sounds off on Trae Young (soaringdownsouth.com) Lou Williams Rondo Kevin H
  8. Quin, Landry, players, want to be successful. So there's always a chance. Is this organization set up to become an perennial elite team. Hell no. We know that already. But we have 2 studs on the team, reasonable payroll, and a few trade chips. There's no reason we can't be a 50 win team. We have to maximize the Trae years because it's foolish to think we're going to move on from him without going back to the lottery for a bit.
  9. That's not evidence though. That's just guessing. Do guys like Hunter? I see him barely talking to anyone. Evidence is what people say about him. Lou Williams, Rondo, JC, one of those guys from early on maybe Parsons all said he was a good guy and they liked playing with him. There are plenty of guys in the league who played here and don't anymore. Do you have any quotes of them saying Trae was a problem?
  10. LOL. Trae was 7th in the league in FTA behind Butler and Derozan and a full 4 FTs a game behind Embiid. I swear if folks are going to hate they at least need to update their reasons.
  11. Yeah i've seen zero evidence of Trae being a bad teammate or disconnected from the team. No idea where that comes from.
  12. That's very true. it's the way it is with Trae. Not so much most other stars in the league.
  13. Is that for real. I've never heard that Grant recommended him. After their last showing the coaches should be fired.
  14. It's crazy to me that there is this much consideration over trading Trae. Dude is the second best passer in the league and top 3 PG easily. Folks are too hung up on not being as good as other guys. None of that matters. Look at NY. They put pieces on that team and if they were healthy they'd be in the conference finals most likely. All around an undersized PG. After we beat them they went to work and acquired talent.
  15. As I saw someone mention, not a single player drafted with or after Trae has led their team farther than he has. So as we used to say back in the day: put that in your pipe and smoke it.
  16. Same here. A bad look while Landry is hammering home character and connectedness. On top of the massive turd of a play in game he turned in. I don't hate Hunter but it might be good for a change of scenery for both parties. He'd probably do well in Denver or Cleveland. Not sure who we replace him with though unless we go after BI.
  17. I'm curious too. There has to be some kind of reason. There really aren't any players who played with him who had anything bad to say about him and several who have great things to say. I think a lot of players in the league can't stand getting cooked by a guy who looks like Trae.
  18. All these 'insider rumors' are just so obviously made up. If Trae was truly on the market there would be double digits of teams falling all over themselves to get him. It's funny they say 'you can't build a winning team around Trae' when it's already been done and 'you can build a winner around DJ' when so far it hasn't been done in his career even under Pop. A team with Derozan, White, and Murray went 33-39 Back to the topic though. Murray is being seriously overrated right now and Trae underrated which is a great time to trade Murray.
  19. No doubt. It's amazing the hate he gets for a guy who routinely does what others can't.
  20. I like DJ but his impact is being overrated by a run of just .500 ball over 20 games at the end of the season. Yeah we beat the Celtics (who had nothing to play for) but there were a lot of schedule wins in there. During that run without Trae, DJ did everything the Trae haters profess to hating. Dribbling the air at the ball and chucking a huge number of shots.
  21. Everyone loves Jimmy. He's got the best rep in the league for a guy constantly provoking his own teammates into throwing punches. So weird how you just can't shake your rep good or bad.
  22. Here's the thing. This year everyone wants us to be OKC. Last year it was Memphis. Year before it was Toronto with their genius head coach. How those team doing now? Why not just build on what we have. We have good pieces that are young.
  23. Well i'm not going to argue that we have a competent organization. Yet another reason not to cut and run. We somehow got some really good players. Let's keep them and add to them vs. let guys with no drafting track record try to build again through the draft. But my way requires money so there's that
  24. I disagree that he has refused to do that. That's what i saw all year.
