  1. As much as I don't like them, I think losing to Boston would open the front offices' (LOL) eyes to this teams window being closed. And that's the competitive window... not even championship contention window. Maybe getting passed up by yet another team (TOR and WAS, included) will show them we need to REBUILD and not attempt to retool. Maybe Bud will even get knocked out his GM chair.
  2. This is Dwight's first year here... Also, Dennis' first year starting. Sure... they'll pick it up immediately and run like a fine tuned machine. Way to stay committed, Budz. They rarely fight through and stay with their man on 10% of the screens... And no, I'm saying that Dwight (at this age) needs to play alongside players who will at least attempt to hold there own on defense against other quality guards not rely on him to cover their backs all the time...he's not Superman anymore.
  3. There were a few times Dwight ran back to the lane when he shouldn't have but IMO if Dennis (or our other "starting" guard who I refuse to acknowledge) would - or even looked to be attempting - to get over or under screens, Dwight wouldn't have to chase guards and leave his man. How is the help being blamed over the original poor defense? And I still can't figure out for the life of me why Bud continues to try trapping guards with Dwight... he does not have the quickness anymore to effect the guard OR recover back to his man. Is it going to take all season to figure this out? Or does Tyrant Bud know but is forcing his principles on player's without the skillset?... More likely the latter.
  4. I guess it's not bad enough the arena will be full of Lakers fan; we have to honor one of their best players, as well. SMH
  5. If we fail to reach the ECF; why bring him back? This team still lacks a go to guy or even one who can create his own shot without it getting blocked, blowing the lay ups or air balling a three. IMO, I'll hold out on any petitioning for Ferry until this team shows PLAYOFF improvement.
  6. I would have rather us gotten James Young over Payne. As has been said, he's a decent player and great story but he's not the wing player I thought we should have taken. Maybe Patterson can step up and do some things but I would have much rather took a slight "risk" on Young's skill and potential over another stretch PF.
  7. How about live in the gym, studying film and game planning? Not that I want PG to do this but I highly doubt you would see LBJ, KD or a Kobe type player smiling and going fishing after losing Game 1 against a "lowly" team like the Hawks. There will be plenty time for that after the season. To piggyback off the OP, the press game interview he (Georgie) gave was downright disrepsectful saying this is the absolute best we could play and they still have the series in control? He must not have noticed our season low assist totals and Korver's below average shooting game.
  8. But whose to say that without all those blown and missed calls that it would not have been a 15 point lead with half a minute left. The argument that you still have a chance to play the game and win is not really valid because one thing always effects another. Even when the free throw #'s even out, there are times and situations that can change the entire aspect and flow of the game, IMO.
  9. Even me, as a JJ fan, would not want him bac on this team. Our ball movement and player movement is great without him and Smoove on the team. As for Deke, it's true, he probably would hurt the offense, slightly, but I really don't see him much differently than E.B. Yeah, Elton has a free-throw range jumper but even that is shotty and inconsistent. Pero... while decent, I don't even consider him a Center. Deke also was a monster at setting picks, KK and Teague could benefit greatly from better screens. Also, Center is our biggest position void while rebounding and defense is our biggest problem, systematically, IMO. Deke would address all three of these while only truly ditracting from 1 aspect of the team. Deke (Big Ben), Sap (Rasheed), DMC (Prince), KK (Rip), and Teague (........penetrating Billups?...He has hit big shots) could be similar to the Pistons squads of the early 2000's.
  10. Deke. We need his rebounding against Indy or Chicago. He would also help our perimeter defenders play tighter on picks and the three point line against teams like Brooklyn or Miami.

    Forget CP3

So a defensive stopper, shooter and All Star PF wasn't a good team? Plus they had bench contributors... Sounds like an excuse... IJS Whether the clips parts fit or not, they made it to the playoffs with one of the better records in the west and CP and the crew were simply outplayed by MEM.

    Forget CP3

Truthfully, how many teams has CP "carried" to the playoffs. Even in his NO days, he had David West in his prime, Birdman, Peja Stoyavich, Tyson Chandler and others while there. Then he goes to LAC and teams with the Lob City crew and one of the best benches in the league.
  13. People can't and shouldn't be controlled. Dangerous materials can and should, IMO.
  14. I don`t think that I will watch the game even on TV. I just can`t stand those idiots who fill the arena and chant for the Heat. I have been to Heat games in Philips Arena before Lebron. They had like 10 fans or so. The first year Lebron and Miami came to Atlanta, there were a ton of people with Cleveland #23 jerseys. The way this city watches basketball and worships superstars is just embarrasing. Really? God forbid people having the right to cheer for champions and some of the best players in the league (both of which our Hawks don't have...) Simply being in or from Atlanta does not bind you to being a hometeam fan. The team has hardly earned loyalty...
  15. This starting line up probably has two PG's (one who is still a project, really and the other, honestly, not that great), 2 PF's and absolutely NO legitimate SF. And the bench is all never been SG tweeners... save the great ZaZa. That's just not much to get excited about. So we are suppose to be excited about a team that "should/could" make the playoffs when we just dogged a team because it couldn't get past the second round?
