  1. Quote: Of course Walker has the worst +/- on the team, he plays the most mpg on a bad team. It follows that Harrington would be next worst because he plays the 2nd most mpg. Walker and Harrington play a lot of minutes with guys like Kenny and Collier and Diaw who have not been very productive and that drags down their +/- stats. Meanwhile guys like P Diddy, Delk, Smoove and Chill get to play a lot of their minutes with Walker and Harrington and very few with the less productive guys. If you are going to look at +/-, I think it is more productive to look at 5-man units. That way, guys don't get penalized as much for playing with non-productive players. Using +/- alone, one could suggest that a lineup of: P Diddy Smoove Chill Delk Ivey would be our most productive unit but I sincerely doubt that would be the case. I agree. Traceman is a smart individual.
  2. Yeah, Walker is at his best when he's feeding off of someone. Hopefully Harrington will become a legit number 1 superstar on the Hawks.
  3. Guys, I didn't watch the game, but did AK47 kinda shut down the inside game for the Hawks?? He had like 7 blocks.
  4. I agree 100 percent. Walker is a class act off the court and he's getting closer to that on the court. I really have no problem with Walker on the court because he plays with a ton of effort and he works hard. He still makes mistakes but that's understandable.
  5. Walker was a selfish player when he came into the league. But that was because of the way he was raised in the NBA. He was the lone bright spot on a 15 win Celtics team. ML Carr was WAlker's first coach. Carr made Walker out to be a savior for the Celtic franchise. Walker could do many things with his many abilities, but he took it too much upon himself. He was the only thing the Celtics had at the time though. He'd shoot too much and he couldn't come through so the fans got on him. But he never waivered and he never quit. He'd play through games where fans would boo him every time he touched the ball. But that was then and Walker is a different player. Walker matured a few years ago when he realized that Paul Pierce was a better scorer and that winning mean for Walker to step aside. After this gesture, the Celtics started to win again. I want Al to be Paul Pierce and I want Walker to step aside when the time is right for Al to shine.
  6. I had hoped Chris Crawford would have been able to help you guys out, but too bad for his injury. Chris can play! He could have helped out this year.
  7. Walker's problem at the free throw line is that he doesn't bend his knees nor does he line his fingers up with the seems of the ball.
  8. Walker saw Al having a great game and he saw that Al needed help....Walker tried to do too much. It looked like a blow in the first quarter. Ah well, young teams will learn to hold on to leads. But the Hawks already learned something with this game. You guys can compete on the second game of a back to back.
  9. I really like the way Walker's playing for the Hawks so far. This is the real Walker. Sure he's missing a lot of 3's and free throws, but no one's perfect. Walker's game in Dallas was bad...he was handcuffed and held back...but that's just because he was a role player, nothing more. The main concern you Hawks fans should be worried about is the growth of Al Harrington. Harrington needs to step up and become a big time player...only then will Walker easily step aside and give Harrington the rock. Walker did that for Paul Pierce, he will do that for Harrington if Harrington can show he deserves the rock.
  10. I wouldn't go that far. I really hope the Hawks realize that defense is going to win games.
  11. If you guys had lost the game...it would have been very painful. It was a good learning experience just holding a team off. The next similiar game, hopefull your team will have learned from their mistakes and win the game comfortably...that's what you guys have to look for the next time out.
  12. Guys, it's never easy winning on the road in the NBA. And coming into this game against the Hornets, the Hawks have lost all their games by double figures and more. Just be happy you guys don't go 0-10 starting the season. You guys are rebuilding, I'm sure you all know this....what you guys have to look for is growth and unity. Playoffs, championships will follow accordingly.
  13. Walker isn't the problem. The problem is you guys are the Atlanta Hawks and your franchise has been rebuilding for like forever. You team needs more talent at every position. You guys need more Walker calibur players.
