The other issue is that Marvin was the 4-5th option or so this year when he was in the game with Joe, Crawford, Smoove, Horford, etc... Assuming Joe leaves, he automatically becomes the 2-3rd option. If he doesn't pick it up in that scenario, he's confirmed as a bust.

With all the speculation surrounding JJ signing with the Knicks, more and more talk has been about a possible S&T. Thought we'd get a topic rolling on the subject to see if anyone had any thoughts. I don't think it's possible with the Knicks, since they don't have anyone close of equal value (hell, they don't even really have anyone under contract, much like the Heat) . I've heard a Joe to Washington for Gilbert rumor, but I definitely don't see that happening. I've also seen some possible Joe to Chicago for Deng/filler talk, which makes more sense to me, although is still less than palatable for me since I think Deng's skill level is about the same as Chillz, albeit they fill different roles.

Sothron has it right. It ain't the players folks. We have no offensive system, other than the pick and roll, which we use sparingly. Otherwise, it's all ISO and jump shots from the guy that has the ball when the shot clock is running down. A middle school coach could have watched the Charlotte series and saw that Larry Brown told his guys to go to the hole no matter what. Forget it if Dwight blocks your shot. If he fouls you 40% of the time, he goes out of the game, and everything opens up. Instead we took a thousand jump shots last night when everyone is cold. No roster is perfect, but we have a pretty damn good one. Fire Woody. Hell, fire Woody and hire a middle school coach - we'll be in much better shape.

C'mon folks. He's terrible. Faced with any adversity, he sucks. No Joe, and it's over. We still have no offense, 5 years later. There's a reason he doesn't have an extension. Sund watches the games.

Fire woody. This is easily fixed. Get a coach who can adapt to the game. Woody hasn't a clue. For all of you that thinks he does, you just became a hawks fan in the last year or so. Our coach is a joke, our squad is actually good. Time to get someone to maximize talent.

This thread is a joke right? Obviously you have never played or coached basketball before (and if you did, you sucked at it). When woody institutes some semblance of an offense, then we can revisit this ridiculous subject.

Yes, we shot badly. But woody continued to do what he always does when we play badly - he shortens the bench. In the second half, despite the fact that bibby, Joe, and craw couldn't hit anything, woody fails to play teague, and runs with the same crew that is ice cold virtually the whole second half. Woody continues to be a joke, and we will never truly be competitive until we have a real coach.

Clearly some of you guys just became Hawks fans. We haven't had an offense since Woody came to Atlanta. It's always ISO Joe, ISO Joe, and then maybe a Smoove lob play thrown in after a timeout. Bibby, while it has been insinuated in the past but never shown to be the actual case, runs our offense. With him, we at least have a semblance of movement, passing, and hence, easy baskets. Without him, what did you see? ISO Joe, ISO Crawford, ISO Joe... Woody is still a joke. I am very happy with our start this year, but Woody is still a below average coach.

I love 'Nique as a player. But I would rather stab myself in the eye with a pencil than listen to him on the telecast. He is brutal. Why oh why did we let Smitty go?
