  1. haven't posted in a while; it's been tough to not get salty at the constant "wait til' the next next year after that" mentality of this rebuild so I've kept quiet. That said... Schlenk needs to get Vets and SIZE into this team with the quickness or I'm sending daggers his way. This season is a complete throw away (Thanks JC for not following the dietary guidelines... "Dumbass" in my best Red Foreman voice) and we're going to be facing another coaching change soon as I'm sure the Roessler's aren't loving the results. Bembry getting minutes is another indictment on Schlenk's offseason. It has been said repeatedly but D.Jones is not an NBA player, Len is BARELY an NBA player and other than that we have no true bigs. Our defense is shocking, our shooting is horrid, but those PEACHTREE jerseys... eh, ehhhhhh? Next years' FA class is doo-doo so there's that... Any word on trades? No? Ok, back to hiding.
  2. I see us as a 25-30 win/mid lottery squad next season... but with an upward trajectory & wins late in the season. Taurean will improve as will Collins once Trae figures out the systems ins & outs & becomes accustomed to life as an NBA starting PG. Trae will get a rough intro early as teams will D him up tight but I believe he'll hit a stride about 1/3 of the season in and put up numbers; my main gauge on him this season is going to be that Assists to Turnovers ratio. Once Trae gets comfortable with the NBA speed of play and the system I could see him putting up 1st Team All-Rookie numbers. He'll be smart to utilize Prince and Collins both inside and down on the post. Spellman will provide decent numbers off the bench in limited minutes... I like the Carter signing if nothing else to have a guy with 20+ years of game experience and knowledge to pass on to guys that likely wore his jerseys... I'm interested to see what Huerter brings to the court once he's healed up from the hand surgery... Cleveland re-signing Love and Dallas bringing in Jordan makes me think both picks could possibly convey next season in an RJ Barrett / Cameron Reddish driven draft... To have potentially 3 lottery slots + a ton of cap room post-Dennis + A Players Coach + A team on the up + An Owner in Buy/Win Mode... I'm at least starting to see a plan. Not saying it's not going to be painful next season and probably the one after but... I see the outline of what appears to be the beginnings of the structuring of the possibilities of the architecture of a potential, um.. plan. so yay for that
  3. you had me until you said JJJ was limited offensively... He literally IS a "stretch 4 Shooting Big" in a 5's body. That dude has offensive and defensive upside, as well as a decent 3-ball, but he's a Memphis Grizzlies player so...
  4. i haven't posted here in a long time and I've been thinking about this move from THE ENTIRE DRAFT and I think it's full of overreaches for system players that Schlenk wants; you could see the room was divided on the draft cam. My main gripe with the move is the pick protection(s) and the fact that I see Collin Sexton as a better player than Young and; aside from being a local product (Pebblebrook H.S.) that went 3 spots later, when the two went head-to-head Sexton ate Young's lunch... - I do think Trae is too slight and those of you saying he's 6'2" are out of your mind... By no means is he finished developing strength but he's every bit of 6' and as we saw at OU the best way to play him is to body him up ala Jevon Carter at WVU or Sexton from 'Bama - I dislike that people fail to highlight his leading of the nation in turnovers while also highlighting his scoring/assists... be real... He takes chances unnecessarily at times and it led to a LOT of TO's - His defense will be a problem against certain guards in the NBA as was going to be the case no matter whom we drafted; his frame will only highlight this difficulty for the first 2-3 seasons IMHO Huerter picked a bad school/system for his style of play... I also know he recently had or is having surgery on his shooting hand... I also know his composite draft ranking was somewhere around 38-42; I think we reached; I hope I'm proven wrong and he's more Klay Thompson than Adam Keefe. Spellman was a reach but he's a winner from a winning program with a great coach. I think he'll be that tweener "Stretch4/Small Ball 5" that can shoot and unclog the lane... I'll hold out thoughts on this one even though on paper it looks like a player we could've had at #34... Which brings me to that... Why in the world did we throw that pick away for two ('19 & '23) 2nd rounders from Charlotte? I wasn't really digging the Graham pick but once I saw the trade I was just downright pissed. Next years' draft class sucks... Dallas will either go all out to win or be a competitor for Top5 next season and the same w/Cleveland and their Top10 protected pick we "have"... i'm all for assets... I just think Doncic and getting back into the lottery for a Sexton/Porter, Jr./Knox type of player was the "Super Aggressive" way that Koonin had me fluffed into thinking we might actually pull off... i go to a LOT of games... I don't like this move, this draft, this long play suckitude... but its whatever m'eh
  5. if we could somehow swing a trade with boston with some combo involving Avery Bradley & Jaylen Brown + Picks for Horford I'd see it as a successful end to a saga... Going into the luxury tax for Horford/Sap is not ideal so one of em' has gotta go.
  6. isn't that where you go in front of the court to hear the charges against you and enter your pleas of guilt or innocence? arraignment is basically just public confirmation of the courts/state/plaintiff (whatever) intentions against the defendant if I remember correctly... so that would be the date he'd go in front of the judge to hear his charges... case would be scheduled from there based on court availability and the determining factors.
  7. no... Par$on$ got a max-deal offer from Portland so unless you want to blow all the cap space/fan goodwill on Chandler freakin' MICRO-FRACTURE SURGERY Parsons... I can't even type anymore on that... that's infuriating. Dwight Howard is going to get every bit of $24m and given his age/injury history/attitude change/scheme fit I'm not sure the "bring em' home" narrative really works... just IMHO
  8. ...and we were all apoplectic over the Claxton 4 year-$24m deal... especially when he went all jello-knee mcgee my how times have changed... thats chump change now.
  9. this is insanity... 4years and $64 million for a dude who hasn't been the same since his knee injuries... This is silly money for role players... I'm old enough to remember when people were in an uproar over DEION SANDERS making over a million to "play a game"; and he was the best... MAYBE EVER! now we've got 7' stiffs getting $IXTY FOUR MILLION DOLLAR$ guaranteed for being 7' and capable of putting one foot in front of the other on a consistent basis... Unreal

yup... actually really like this one. still kinda reeling over our 1st rounders
  11. Portland is an amazing "small" city... One of my favorite in the country, not sure why he wants out...
  12. If it was Aldridge of 3-4 years ago, maybe....He's a jumpshooting 7-footer that pulls his "Big" away from the hoop; like some have said to the detriment of the Blazers...There's a reason they are looking to move him and it's because they want to run & gun with Lillard & McCollum

exactly... Who better to learn from, right?A lot of people knocked the MIlsap pickup because it wasn't flashy... Personally, I loved it!Milsap is undersized but yet can be seen out-hustling his matchup on a nightly basis... His deal makes him extremely affordable and easily moved should we find a suitable trade partner. Not to mention with his near decades' worth of NBA-level experience he's basically a "coach on the floor" for our younger guys.Milsap = Steal of FA

Isn't he more of a 3 than a 4? I know he can stroke from the 3-point line...If healthy I could see him developing into a really nice player for us; not Paul George or anything, but a nice 12ppg / 6rpg type of player; 6th/7th man maybe?I know we aren't going to be world-beaters next year but for the first time in a good 7-8 years I'm excited for the prospect of "new, fresh, and different"...hey, if we're terrible and it could net us any of the Andrew Wiggins / Jabari Parker / Julius Randle / The Harrison Twins type top-level elite prospects in the draft then I'm happy!

... I gotta say, I'm impressed with his work ethic and his ability to come back from that ankle injury of his junior season at UVA.I really think he may be one of those "2nd Round Gems" if he's able to adapt to Budenholzer's system...Should we consider him a "roster-lock" at this point?
