the cavs don't get picks 1,2,3? Obviously, they'd be guaranteed 4th as long as they have the worst record. Darko, LeBron, and Carmelo would all be great selections (they're the 1st 3 picks- in no particular order- if all 3 are in this years draft), but after that, I see a dropoff. This is maybe one of, if not thee, most important offseasons for the Cavs franchise. I think it is too early to tell if and how far the talent level will fall after the 1st 3 picks because there can always be a player who flies under the radar until the weeks leading up to the draft. Pau Gasol is a great example. Nobody would've guessed (and if you did, please start picking my lotto numbers) that he'd have this kind of impact and be this far ahead of all of the teeny boppers drafted around him (1- K Brown, 2- Chandler, 3-Gasol, 4- E Curry). Although not a star, wasn't Lorenzen Wright also dealt w/ Gasol's draft rights for SAR? Hindsight's 20-20, but if I were in ATL, I'd be forming a line at Babcock's door and demanding to know what the deal is. Look at the past deals that we've seen him make-- Steve Smith for Easy Rider, the SAR deal, and the Big Dog trades (which cost them their lottery pick this year=no shot at LeBron or a slew of PG's way better than the Hawk's current PG's)--have continued to turn the Hawks into a mess. Nobody in the biz is perfect, and the Mookie Blaylock deal that fetched JT was a good one, although JT's uncertain contract status and position takes that deal down a peg or two. Honestly, they should've just cleaned house at the deadline, but the front office was too proud to do that and now that might have cost the Hawks a lot of time.
