(5-6-03) http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaab/news?slug=th...t&type=lgns SOUTH BEND, INDIANA (TICKER) -- Chris Thomas, who led Notre Dame to the "Sweet 16" for the first time since 1987, will forgo his final two years of eligibility and enter the NBA Draft. The point guard averaged 18.7 points and led Notre Dame with 6.9 assists per contest this season. In just two seasons, Thomas ranks fifth in school history with 488. His 7.3 assists per game rank as the best in school history. The 6-1 Thomas said that he will not hire an agent, a decision that will allow him to pull out of the draft by June 19, one week before the draft. All three previous Notre Dame players who have left early for the draft - Troy Murphy, Adreian Dantley and Gary Brokaw - have been first-round picks.
