Admin
For me I think it's gotta be Olynyk as my top choice but I'd probably be nearly as pissed if we drafted Saric and to a lesser degree Giannis because I'm very worried about him being this years hype machine player. KB21
I think Saric is very overhyped right now. Like you, I'm not big on Olynyk either.
Admin
Yep Saric is definitely overhyped and it scares me that he's a Euro and has been rumored to the Hawks.
gurpilo
Ollynik, Plumlee, Nogueira or Whithey if Adams or Dieng are available and Saric and Crabbe if KCP, Schröder, MCW or Franklin are avaiable, I have to think a little bit more about Adekotunbo

Moderators PSSSHHHRRR87 Posted May 30, 2013 Moderators Report Share Posted May 30, 2013 I worry about Dr. Giannis (lol) because he has been playing pick-up ball all these years and hasn't had real competition yet. Don't care for Saric and I believe people overhype TH Jr. too much. Dude looked horrible in the tourney for Mich. Really, the only thing I'd be pissed about is if we draft some 5'9" PG or some undersized C (unless its a second round pick). Other than that, IFWT. I believe the man knows what he is doing... KB21
Yep Saric is definitely overhyped and it scares me that he's a Euro and has been rumored to the Hawks. I think a lot of people try to tie in the drafting Euros to Danny Ferry because the Spurs have drafted a lot of Euros over the past 12+ years. However, when you look at Danny's drafts in Cleveland, he only spent one first round pick on a Euro player -- Christian Eyenga, and he did that in 2009 because he didn't want to guarantee a 2 year contract on a player who he didn't feel will help the team immediately. He stated that his team was more about the short term at that time than development. His goal was to get to another Championship series. Of note, he also drafted Danny Green in that draft, who is now the starting shooting guard for the San Antonio Spurs. In San Antonio, you have a team that was established. They weren't trying to build, so when they drafted players, they took guys who they could stash overseas and keep their rights until they were ready to play a role on the team. A lot of the time, the Euros they drafted never made it to the US. I think Danny Ferry is legitimately looking for players that can potentially step in and play a role early on for the Hawks in this draft. The Hawks have only 3 players with guaranteed contracts, 1 restricted free agent, and four players who are essentially exclusive rights free agents. If they retain those guys, that's 8 players. ATLHawks3
Even though this guy has alot of talent, it would have to be Jamaal Franklin. He's a heck of an athlete and he can get to the rim at will, but what happens when defenses play zone and he has to rely on a jumper..... THAT HE DOES NOT HAVE. Moderators lethalweapon3 Posted May 31, 2013 Moderators Report Share Posted May 31, 2013 Crabbe. And I've also been disappointed with what I've seen from Jamaal Franklin.~lw3

Guest Walter
Olynyk...saric, nogiuera,...goodwin, Crabbe, plumlee in that orderTo be frank...unlike year's past, outside of olynyk I won't be as pissed as I have in the past (although little can piss me off more than me or sw). Something to do with this yrs depth, where we pick, how many picks, and my confidence in the brothers Dike Fudenharry.W

DrReality
Also as a spelling freak I'd be pissed if we drafted anyone who people here can't spell his name.Made me laugh. Admin
Made me laugh. That's a pretty serious limitation given some of our Squawkers. Me included Haha well we all have our words that we have to (or should) go look up the spelling if we don't know it... but many don't and just butcher names. I'm still in therapy from when Tony Sparano was the Dolphins head coach and several people always spelled his name Sporano and it drove me nuts! If we draft this overhyped greek kid then I'm gonna have to go into the backend of the site and create a whole bunch of different content filters that fix the spelling of his name when someone types in some incorrect variation of it. gurpilo
I really do not want to draft Plumlee or Ollynik, we need a true center as Adams or Dieng, I would be really pissed if we draft Plumlee I could live with Ollynik.
bird_dirt
I really do not want to draft Plumlee or Ollynik, we need a true center as Adams or Dieng, I would be really pissed if we draft Plumlee I could live with Ollynik. I feel the exact same. I've seen a number of mocks that have us taking plumlee, and it just makes me shutter. really want dieng, and adams would be my second choice where our picks are. i've also seen jamal franklin going to us in a lot of mocks. i like that he seems like a hard player who's always on, that's how you want your team to play (ahem....josh - pay attention). the thing that scares me a little about him is at 6'5, he'd likely have to play sg, and he can't shoot all that well, especially from 3. Haha luckily I was too young to care back then. Plus he had a nice nickname that people rarely screwed up.
