DJlaysitup
Pulling for Germany...and this HAS been an interesting W. Cup...but... How can you have a 120minute scoreless match and it all comes down to which goalie "guesses" right on the shootout kicks. That's B.S. They should either play until somebody scores a real goal (they do have lights don't they) or just flip a damn coin. That's one good thing about Wimbledon - no "tie breaker" in the last set - if it ends up 24-22 so be it.

Penalty shootout is nowadays part of the game and it's more about mental toughness than guessing the right side to jump because a well shot penalty is not to stop. You need clutch abilities... In former days draw playoff games were repeated. But that's not possible any more. I also think it's better to end a game on regulation but ps is a thrilling highlight at the end of the game. Especially after a boring 0-0.

I (personally) would rather see a 5 on 5 sudden death period (long as it takes with a couple substitutions to keep it fair) and NO GOALIE instead of a guy jumping one way or the other before the ball is kicked and hoping to get lucky. In all honesty - it's like a playoff in the NBA being decided by backwards free throws or center line shots - silly.

There has been a try to work with sudden death (golden goal) but that was corrected. Sorry but your idea to "improve" an old sport the whole world loves as it is is quite arrogant - to teach the world about something you don't have a clue about... If you don't like it - don't watch it. Edited July 12, 2014 by rd79

NJHAWK
What a goal that won it. Argentina will kick themselves for all the missed chances. It was a good cup for the most part except for some of the ref mistakes. Think the best overall team won.

Ebert
You know who's going to play the UCL final... Yes!! Both!! Visca Barça!!
Ebert
Well, I have also remembered that Evra is playing the final too... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luis_Su%C3%A1rez_racial_abuse_incident Luis Suárez racial abuse incident After an incident which occurred on 15 October 2011 during a game of football between fierce rivals Liverpool and Manchester United, Liverpool's Luis Suárez was charged with, and found guilty of, racially abusing United's Patrice Evra, and was fined £40,000 and banned for eight games. The incident was widely reported in the British media for months due to the nature of the incident and the controversial response of Liverpool and their manager Kenny Dalglish. This have to be our year again... we need three more wins and we we will win three titles again... Go Barça!
