Self defense weapons...what do you keep?

Personally, I have a .357/38 revolver.  As an ex-military man I count hand guns as "noise makers" ...you want to fight me you have to go up against the serious stuff.

 

My primary "serious stuff" is an AK-47 with a 20 shot clip loaded and under my bed and in reach.  Secondary "serious stuff" is a 12-G shotgun.  It's actually a long barrel and in a case - so not very effective in a close-in-fast gun fight.

 

So, if you want to beat me in a gunfight, all you really have to do is, get past the revolver shots - then the 20 or so AK-47 shots, and get to me before I get to my shotgun.  :^)

.380 semi-auto for worst of the worst case scenario.  My real home defense is a noisy mutt, locked doors, and gentlemen's agreement with my neighbors that if you break into one of our homes you break into all of our homes.
