Among current players on the New Orleans roster, Dante Cunningham has appeared in the fourth-most games this season. It was a bit in doubt earlier Tuesday, but Cunningham is now expected to play in his 52nd contest of 2016-17, with Pelicans Coach Alvin Gentry saying the combo forward is battling through an illness. Cunningham was listed as questionable on the team's injury report this morning. "He's feeling OK. He's been sick," Gentry said. "He's going to give it a go tonight. We kept him out of everything yesterday (at practice) and shootaround today." The eighth-year NBA veteran is coming off one of his best performances of the season, scoring 14 points on 6/7 shooting at Charlotte in an overtime win Saturday. That was tied for his third-best offensive showing of the campaign (his season high is 18 vs. Detroit on March 1). Other notes from pregame at the Smoothie King Center: Gentry said his team's focus must be on getting wins and not on scoreboard-watching: "We've just got to win games. There is no reason to look at the standings. For us, we have to win games. That's the bottom line. We have 16 games left, and we can't afford to lose any of them. That's still no guarantee you're going to get into the playoffs." … Pelicans 10-day signee Jordan Crawford has been impressive dishing the ball since joining New Orleans, handing out 12 assists against one turnover. Gentry noted that Crawford has three NBA triple-doubles from his previous stint in the league, which ended in 2014. "That's pretty impressive on its own," Gentry said of that statistical feat. "I think he had a reputation as being a scorer, but to me he's a good basketball player. He's a good passer. Defensively, he's worked extremely hard and given great effort and obviously he's made some big shots for us." … Gentry on Crawford being out of the league for the past two-plus years: "It puts you in a situation where you're very appreciative once you get back up here. You play hard and do everything you possibly can to stay. Everything he's done… it's all showing us that he really wants to be up here."
