LOL!

That's what all these teams think that are on the lottery treadmill, and instead of getting LeBron and Curry, they get Anthony Bennett and Ben McLemore.

Well, the Hawks haven't hit the lotto and they drafted Dennis and Prince. How many want to bet on those two leading the Hawks to a title?

I'd rather bet on that than this stupid, illogical strategy that believes you should get very bad to be very good.

Keeping that team together wasn't financially possible and that team wasn't all that good to begin with. All of our players end up getting overpaid because our system made them look better than they actually were.

Teague is now making nearly 20 Mil per year.

Carroll is making 15 mil to sit on the bench and limp around in Toronto.

Horford is making nearly 30 mil per to put up role player production.

Millsap is now making 30 mil per at 32 year old with knee issues.

Korver at 36 years old is still demanding multi year deals.

Keeping that team together would easily put us at the highest payroll in the league and we would still get swept by Cleveland every year.

You have to get something for some of these players. All they got was Prince... Who is barely better than nothing.

We got a good chunk of change to spend now and a lot of roster spots to fill out. Who are we going after?

Get ready to watch NBDL players in Atlanta.

I agree with that.

you can blame BudCox for that.

To be fair to management, getting a first rounder for Korver was/is great. Teague for Prince/Getting Dennis minutes is fine. They couldn't keep Millsap and Demarre and made the better choice by far.

Where they really blew it was going after Dwight last year and losing Al. Not just because of the on court product, but because losing Al mean't that they couldn't trade Millsap for assets which would've smoothed out the rebuild a bit. The next biggest mistake was moving Kyle and then keeping Millsap (even vetoing a deal). Now they've lost their two best players for nothing in consecutive years.

On the bright side, Schlenk stayed strong and stuck to his word. That deal was easy to beat, yet we didn't even get a whisper of interest from ATL. Schlenk has a big mess to clean up though.

Didn't that first rounder get traded down for the 41 pick? Which is basically worthless.

Huh? The second rounder that got traded down was from Brooklyn from the Joe Johnson trade. The Cavs pick is in 2019 and top 10 protected, which looks better by the day as Lebron looks more likely to leave. Just gotta hope Kyrie can carry them lol.

Disagree completely.

This meta-analysis approach just isn't valid. Each transaction stands on its own as valid or invalid.

Teague?

Valid

DMC?

Hands were tied. Valid.

Korver?

Valid (... btw, don't forget there's a draft pick there... it was left out)

Horford?

Valid... we made him a completely reasonable offer that was going to pay him more money, but ultimately conventional wisdom says we lost him b/c we gambled on Dwight and Horf wasn't okay with that.

Millsap?

Invalid... I believe I have plenty of company in saying we have a new GM today b/c it was determined after the season that a huge opportunity was missed in moving Sap at the deadline, if not before.

Four out of five, the more reasonable... or in DMC's situation, the only... choice was what went down.
