Atlanta Hawks 2018-19 record: 29-53 2020 title odds: +25000 Previous rank: No. 22 Breakout candidate: Kevin Huerter The casual NBA fan knows about young stars Trae Young and John Collins, but the most they might know about Huerter is that he was the player Dwyane Wade chose to swap jerseys with last season. Huerter shot 38.5% from deep last season, and among Hawks players, only Young made more 3-pointers. Also another familiar Hawk related candidate is also mentioned: Quote 19. Detroit Pistons 2018-19 record: 41-41 2020 title odds: +25000 Previous rank: No. 16 Breakout candidate: Joe Johnson Wait, 38-year-old Joe Johnson? Sure, breakout candidates are usually young, under-the-radar players, but Iso Joe is in the running for another reason. After a stint in the BIG3, Johnson used Ice Cube's league as a springboard, and he now finds himself back in the NBA with something to prove. Many know Johnson's name, but some might have forgotten his impact. He has the shooting capacity to help space the floor and aid Pistons' stars Andre Drummond and Blake Griffin. For the Pistons to capture a playoff win that eluded them last season, the team needs a healthy Griffin and guards to give Drummond some space to operate in the paint. Johnson could be one of those guards. 5

Premium Member Popular Post JayBirdHawk Posted October 11, 2019 Premium Member Popular Post Report Share Posted October 11, 2019 Two things: Quote “Hopefully playing a little bit more point guard this year, we’ve been talking about that,” he explains. “Or at least having the mindset to do that—trying to get other guys involved, put the ball on the floor and make plays.” Quote At some point, Huerter plans to get in the gym with Wade to develop his post game. He spent the summer building strength, working on his finishing ability at the rim, and, of course, making some media appearances. That part is something he’s going to have to get more used to. Nice!

Oh nooooo, not true at all. Red velvet is more a vanilla based cake with red food coloring and a dash of cocoa. Chocolate is loaded with cocoa. The ratio of cocoa in one vs the other is on opposites ends of the scales. 6

Whaaattt. The only difference is red velvet has buttermilk and vinegar in it which reacts with each other and gives it a reddish color. Red food coloring is added sometimes to heighten the red color. They're both chocolate cake tho. It's like comparing ranch dressing to buttermilk ranch.

Premium Member Sothron Posted October 15, 2019 Premium Member Report Share Posted October 15, 2019 I think Jabari Parker is going to be that surprise guy for us. He'll be an asset we might flip if he balls out as our sixth man.

Premium Member JayBirdHawk Posted November 8, 2019 Premium Member Report Share Posted November 8, 2019 Quote He has looked hesitant and hasn’t shown the aggressiveness that Hawks head coach Lloyd Pierce wanted to see from Huerter in Year Two. Huerter has been working his way back from a nagging knee injury that held him out all of preseason. His knee started bothering him in May and was consistently sore all offseason. When he got to Atlanta, the soreness progressively got worse to the point that he didn’t have any confidence jumping off his right foot. But each game he has played, Huerter says he’s felt better than the previous game. After Wednesday’s game against Chicago, Huerter said he was feeling the best he has all season, which makes him confident that the rut he has been in is going to end soon. “Slow starts are going to happen,” Huerter said. “I wasn’t able to play much live over the summer, and then I missed all preseason. Every game I am trying to get better, and I think I am doing that.” Pierce acknowledged before Wednesday’s game that he wouldn’t say Huerter is 100 percent back to where he would like to be but that Huerter feels better health-wise. It’s now just a matter of seeing the ball go through the basket a couple of more times. There have been positives with Huerter so far. He has been effective when he has been the primary ballhandler in pick-and-roll situations. He’s shooting 44 percent when he has taken shots as the ballhandler in pick-and-roll, according to Synergy. He has made 6 of 10 of his attempts at the rim. Wednesday was the first game this season that Huerter’s presence on the floor truly could be felt, even though the Hawks were blown out by the Bulls. For the first six games, there were too many times that Huerter would fade in the background, and you couldn’t feel his presence. Part of that is the minutes restriction he has been on, and part of it is because the spacing hasn’t been ideal for him coming off the bench. When Huerter is fully off of his minutes restriction, which could happen as soon as Friday for the Hawks’ game against Sacramento, playing alongside Trae Young in the starting rotation would help open the floor for everyone. De’Andre Hunter stood in between the space of his locker and Huerter’s locker. Hunter went 1-for-7 from the field and very much looked like a rookie, but Huerter reminded him that it’s just one game, and it’s not going to define the team. For Huerter, it has taken seven games to get going, but Wednesday looked like the start of him finally finding his rhythm. Hopefully a sign of things to come for Huerter getting back on track. We need him now even more with JC out for another 23 games. 3
NBASupes
Kevin is simply struggling to adjust more than anything. Teams aren't giving him his hot spots and he is trying to create open looks from other spots where he is not as confident. As LP, the reason why guys have Sophomore slumps is because they struggle to adjust to how the game is being played v. Them. Defensively, he is showing signs on improvement especially on the ball in spurts Edited November 8, 2019 by NBASupes
