A blocking foul by definition means that some part of your body is making contact with the offensive player.  (i know they called an offensive foul but B**** please).   

So if you're going to block then some part of your body is going to get hit.  If you have a big nose then it's probably going to be that.

I know refs have a tough job and blah blah blah....and I know it's always been part of the game, but the level of (in)consistency with refs this season is insane. Why would any ref want to be the focal point of a game? And how the hell do you go to replay and determine that both times it was a flagrant?!! 10 freaking offensive foul calls??? I think maaaaybe 2 or 3 of those would be called on a regular basis....but most of them were either a blocking foul or just a no-call. Is it just me or does it feel like the league went from extremely old to extremely young refs over the last couple of years?

Yeah but when you realize that Steve Javie was/is actually admired by young and old refs alike then am just remembering that NBA reffing has always stunk. A few horrible spikes we remember more than others of course but the mean has always been beneath the quality of the league they work for. We have been conditioned to accept it as normal whether it is witnessing the bias involved in games or simply the incompetence. And yes we will still watch because the players themselves are the best on the planet, just not gonna miss that .
