Maybe taking on a contract another team wants to unload.  That would make sense if we thought we couldn't use our cap space on free agents and couldn't come up with trades for players we wanted (or maybe we want the player and the other team wants to unload them).  Just spitballing.

Yup I really believe it’s going to happen . Either Simmons or Embiid will not be a 76er by next seasons trade deadline is my prediction.

I don't know if I would call it a Rumor specifically, it was more a response to a question by 1 of 20 Player Agents, an article by The Athletic.

I know we get defensive about it as Hawks fans, but general managers, coaches, agents seem to be kinda skeptical of Trae, and his 30 and 10 gets the stink eye from them. He's gotta show he can play winning team ball this year. I think he will.

Many of those same people said he would be bench player or was a bust. Don't let the "objective" outsiders fool you.  About 100% of those same people would want Trae on their team.

Random stats vs winning, when it comes to Trae:

 

- Hawks record when Trae scored 30 or more points:  13 - 18

- Hawks record when Trae scored less than 30 points:  5 - 24

 

- Hawks record when Trae scored 38 points or more:  9 - 7

- Hawks record when Trae scored 21 points or less:  0 - 14

 

- Hawks record when Trae made 5 or more threes:  12 - 8

- Hawks record when Trae made 3 or less threes:  5 - 29

 

- Hawks record when Trae got 13 or more assists:  7 - 5

- Hawks record when Trae got 8 or less assists:  3 - 21

 

- Hawks record when Trae shot 37.5% or more from three:  13 - 10

- Hawks record when Trae shot 30% or less from three:  2 - 23

 

The narrative on Trae is crazy, seeing that the Hawks were dead in the water if Trae WASN'T balling out on a nightly basis.  Also, we all know that this team started playing better once we got Collins back in the mix.  Adding Jeff Teague helped too, from a playmaking standpoint.  But a winning team needs multiple people playing well to win.  And as we all know, we didn't have that on a lot of nights, especially with no Collins in the mix.

Bottom line is that Trae had to ball out, in order for the Hawks to win, or even to stay competitive.

This league better hope that our young wings don't turn from being raw and unseasoned, to being lemon peppered wet flavored.  If they start playing better, Trae's assist numbers will skyrocket into the 12 - 13 apg range.  And if Trae continues the trend of improving his 3 point shooting by 4%, he becomes a 40% shooter from 3.  

If that happens, it's lights out for the East.
