Along with @NBASupes, I've been one of the biggest Cam supporters out there. I thought his fit with our young core would be perfect if he hit on his potential. That glimpse I saw yesterday gives me reason to believe that he has the ability to be the best all around player on the Hawks and number one option scoring ability. He carried the team in the third quarter yesterday. When he's on, his shot is so pure. Nothing but net. Mind you, that's no disrespect to the great Trae Young! Cam just has all nba defensive potential, with playmaking and rebounding ability. My lord if he takes a Trae Young jump over the next year, I may have to mortgage my house to get those front row seats. I'm just so happy for him! He's a humble kid and all he gets is hate because of NBA Nerd Twitter. Edited January 18, 2020 by marco102

Nerd Twitter loves PIPM, TAP, RAPM, KOBE, LOONEY TUNES, PER, etc. All of those metrics will be low on any player if they finish poorly and shoot poorly which Reddish has but now Reddish is getting to his level. We saw this with Trae last year. 3

We saw this with Trae last year. Cam Reddish finally looks like he's getting his NBA legs. Yesterday, he was controlled he didn't look weak or off balance with anything he did. I believe the game is slowing down for him. Coach LP said he's been putting in tons of work. That's so encouraging because some tried to put out that he was not a hard worker. If he continues to work he and us will be rewarded with one of the best two way young players in the game. Book it!!! I also don't care about those stats. People just can't watch games and enjoy anymore. The only stats I care about is TS% and EF% as far as "advanced" stats. Those are the only ones I can truely understand how they are calculated.

It's hard to play this many mins as a rookie on a bad team and have a positive WAR. If Cam can finish with a 2-2.5 WAR playing the mins he plays, I would elated. But he hit a wall while Cam seems to be poised for a take off like Trae had last season. I still think between the 3 we have 2 starters and a 6th man at the Wing. Now we have a vet PG backup for Trae - which I don't know if you noticed in The Athletic article Schlenk actually wanted Jeff before the season started now he finally got him.

He stands straight up on defense and gets caught flat footed. Speaking on Cam, the kid gets misread because he has that laid back personality. It takes a very high motor to play like he does on the defensive end and score like he does when his shot is on. He's not lazy at all and doesn't back down from defending the best the NBA has to offer. You can't teach that type of motor.

It is even more difficult to do against players the league protects that he has to guard every game.

Popular Post Spud2nique
I will say I liked Cam from the start. I thought he was initially a Tmac type of player, just a smooth cat on O that glides to the rim and had a sweet easy looking stroke. Had so much faith I bought his jersey before he stepped on the court. (Did that with Marvin too..2 jerseys ). What I didn’t know about Cam. 1. Defense- I see him as a Kobe type defender. Supes sees him as Tony Allen. Both first team defense staples in the league. I didn’t know he took so much pride in D and got after it. This fact alone makes him a top 5 pick in this past draft. If nothing else and struggling on offense, he never gave up on the other end. It take heart and desire. 2. professionalism- I didn’t know he was such a professional and mature young man. When you watch a million college film 🎞 on guys, sometimes you get a quick sense of their personality and move onto their game. Since Cam was quiet, I thought he was the “too cool for school” type quiet. That’s not the case, he’s quiet because he’s letting his game speak for him, huge sign of maturity and respect around the league noticed by other players no doubt... recruiting will be easy. Like @marco102 mention our general Trae is our best player and no disrespect, but we may have superstar #2 not far behind. Oh, and shoutout to our Marty Blake @NBASupes for discovering a talent like Cam. Edited January 18, 2020 by Spud2nique
Popular Post Gray Mule
Regardless of where they were taken, the Hawks got two top ten picks in the last draft. Then, finding someone asleep, they moved in and grabbed Bruno. We're not lucky. We're good! Our youth have, of necessity, played more minutes than any rookie should. The top two, any way. Bruno doesn't get many minutes. He's learning, too. Looking forward to watching our two new Hawks tonight. @NBASupes says that more trades are in the works. Just waiting for all the little things to fall into place. The closer to the trade deadline, the easier they fall. Hurry up and wait. GO ATL HAWKS !!
