Squawkers Hawksquawk Posted February 29, 2020 Squawkers Report Share Posted February 29, 2020 Steve Dykes-USA TODAY Sports The Atlanta Hawks put together a complete effort on Friday evening, zooming to a 23-point win over the Brooklyn Nets. Less than 24 hours later, Lloyd Pierce’s team will be back in action, with the Portland Trail Blazers coming to Atlanta for their annual visit to State Farm Arena. The Blazers will be short-handed in this spot, with All-NBA guard Damian Lillard joining Zach Collins, Jusuf Nurkic and Rodney Hood on the injury report for the visitors. The absence of Lillard certainly could tip the scales in the game, though the Blazers enter this match-up on regular rest, with the Hawks attempting to recover on the second night of a back-to-back. On Atlanta’s side, Clint Capela and Dewayne Dedmon remain sidelined — along with Skal Labissiere and DeAndre’ Bembry — but there are no additional injuries listed on the team’s official report. Even with the rest disparity, the good folks in Las Vegas install the Hawks as two-point favorites as of Saturday afternoon. That sets the stage for a game in which the Hawks have several advantages to exploit, and it will be interesting to see if Atlanta can maximize them. Stay tuned throughout the day and be encouraged to utilize the comments below as a “game thread” for the action.
