The Virus Clause

Recommended Posts

New lingo in upcoming NFL contracts include a forfeit of signing bonus if a positive test occurs. Its a new world folks. This carries a lot more weight than the "no surfing" clause am thinking.

NFL teams are placing coronavirus-related provisions in their contracts stating that a failed physical will result in forfeited signing bonus money, league sources told ESPN.

Sean Payton is the first NFL personnel to test positive for this terrible virus. Don't like the guy at all but damn, would never wish this on anyone. He is 56 so would hope his health has been in check and he stated that he hasn't felt anything more than minor flu like symptoms.

That sucks.  I guess Louisiana getting hammered dispels the myth that heat and humidity will kill it off.   This is a lot of people in the public eye getting infected.

NFL is planning on having the draft on time but with a studio setup for the FO and each team would have their own as of now looks like in reference to the virus situation.

The league is considering hosting the draft in a “studio setting” with cameras set up at each team’s headquarters but it’s not yet known how exactly that will work. With no plans to move back the draft past its originally scheduled April 23-25 dates, Goodell mentioned in his memo that he welcomed input from owners on how best to host the event. At least for now, the start of the 2020 season is still set for Sept. 10.

Brees just committed five million dollars to Louisiana in a number of ways for dealing with the virus. He is a football foe for us but what a classy person. A very good deed. Posted this elsewhere already but wanted it in the Falcons area as well.

By the way his boss, Sean Payton, has been cleared of the virus after his quarantine. So good news there.
