What do you guys think? I’m excited for this fit. Good fit for sure. He’s a boss. I think he bounces back.

Even if all he does is protect Ryan's blind side that would be a great improvement for us in the backfield. He is indeed a solid blocker. Hope to see some glory day highlights from him for us and zero injury time but do understand there is probably a good bit of snap per game management necessary to protect those knees. Best available FA move for our backfield do believe. Plus I am a Georgia homer.

Good points.  Just the threat of him is like a threat of a Kyle Korver from deep, your D has to account for him in one way or another.

You guys always seem to land the rugged rb’s that I love. Devonte Freeman and now another stud to replace him. As a lions 🦁 fan, we’ve been looking. Kerr yon is the hope but we’ve had Abdullah Jahvid Best. We’ve been thirsty for a workhorse stud since Barry.

Barry retired back in the 20th century right???

It’s been a while. He came in and went out like Jim Brown, a man who Barry’s father still regards as the best running back in NFL history. 😊

Barry is respected for both his game and his respect for Walter so he is indeed an incredible role model. Miss his 360's myself a whole lot.

I like it but hope this isn't another S. Jackson situation. We got him after he was well past done being an effective RB. To be honest, Gurley looked like he was almost done last season. I'm hoping that he was still recovering from injury. If he does indeed have arthritis in his surgically repaired knee, I think it's best to temper expectations.

Yup agreed. Just in love with who he was I guess. Hopefully he can bounce back with new school meds but tempering expectations seems right on.

Well, the price tag and length of contract removes any big risk of this being a mistake to me. Even if his snap count is not loaded with handoffs and pitches to him he can protect Ryan very well while still being a threat out of the backfield as a receiver on passing plays. Am quite happy with this.

Atlanta reportedly gave Gurley a one-year, $6 million "prove it" deal, which will go a long way to determining what kind of future he still has in the league.

This is one of the under the radar type moves to me. It’s not being discussed as much as it should. I mean Gurley is a legit superstar. Granted the NFL career span is short for a rb, it ain’t that short. With modern medicine and his raw physical prowess, if anyone can do it, it’s Gurley. Is he hungry enough? That’s my question.

Ram's OL guy has nothing but praise for Gurley so am appreciating him opening up about it even though teams are supposed to be so business like and all about players that move on for whatever reason.

“The energy this guy brings in a locker room and really to his team and the way he loves to compete, it’s infectious man,” Whitworth said. “On gamedays I used to always say, he’s one of those guys that you look over at his locker just to see and get your excitement up and how much passion he has for the game, so, you know what, I think they should expect nothing less than that and just on a day-to-day basis – he’s a great human being. I mean, all this success he’s had and all of the things he’s done, I’ve never seen it change him one bit. He takes life real lightly, he likes to joke and have fun, and make a joke out of everything. You know what, he doesn’t take himself too serious for an elite player and I love that about him because you know what, he’s a human being first. That’s what’s really cool about Todd, and it’s something that’ll be infectious to other guys on that team as they have success.”

Gurley is now officially signed.

Today it’s officially official, which means you can put Gurley down as the starting running back in Atlanta in pen.

Don’t look 👀 now but you guys have assembled an all star ⭐️ cast here..

Matty 🧊

Julio

Gurley

Put me down as an A+ move here for the Falcons! Sometimes you just feel like something might be special, this has that feel.

Yeah, offensively feel we can cause damage against a lot of different D lineups. Keep them all healthy you know. Gage to me has looked better than Ridley lately because of his hands so him Julio and Ridley on the field at the same time is pretty nice. Thinking that at TE we have a good one two punch with Hurst and Graham. A bunch of running backs to go with Gurley and think Ollison has shown he is a third and score guy at the goal line already. If LG is even average we score plenty. On the other side of the ball?? Uh.....well.....like I said our offense will score a lot, and am quite sure it will have to.

Todd Gurley is pledging and working with "Beyond Meat Feed A Million Plus and the Atlanta Community Food Bank. He is back home and is giving back to home and the whole country. A really good guy.

Gurley passed his long awaited physical. So hopefully he holds up and is a 5.5 million dollar bargain for us if we ever start the season. Him and Julio in the same lineup when healthy seems extremely potent to me.

Ya I think you guys could be an definite underdog for a quiet Super Bowl 🍲 run. You’re only a few years removed with some main pieces in place.

Sportsbook has the Falcons at o/u 7.5 wins. If fact you gotta put up only EVEN $ to bet the over. I see you guys winning 9 or 10. I usually hate doing season bets due to injuries but 7.5 is almost insulting and I’m a Lions fan.

ps They got 🦁 at 6.5 I would say insulting again but not really. 😏

Am thinking with a healthy offensive line that we can outscore a lot of folks no matter if the defensive is as effective as I am hoping it will be or not. Pressure on the other guy's QB should be improved somewhat anyway, we will see how much. Expect ten wins and hope for more. Just get into the playoffs however we can and go from there you know.
