When?  Definitely not next year, which is when we'd need it.

He is just one piece.  We have money to spend on defensive specialist.  The guy's true shooting was 77%.  He would work in a zone on defense since he is so long

If hes on the Hawks, he's still going to play ALOT with TRae, as Trae will be on the floor most of the time.

I doubt it. Bruno did well in speed and agility drills...Bruno is 20 lbs heavier and was a late 1st rdr anyway though. lol

I don’t know about you all and it might sound greedy with all the talent we’ve accumulated the past few season but I wanna win this lottery and get the 1st pick!

Imagine that:

Trae

Collins

Cam

Hunter

Huerter

#1 pick 2020 draft

Its funny we would be in an awkward position of really needing to make the playoffs on raw talent alone but having to groom that raw talent at the same time.

Having said that, I think the NBA game is way different in the rookies and second year guys develop quicker than they did before. They better for our sake.

My list pre draft of guys I like and liked:

2018: Luka/Bagley/Trae/Bamba/Mikal

2019: Cam/Culver/Clarke/Kabengele

2020: 🐜man/Wiseman/Okongwu/Okoro

We added Trae and Cam. I hope I strike again in the 2020 list I’ll take any of those guys.

Actually saw a whole game of Toppin against the Dawgs which folks may discount but did see him a few other times for stretches against better teams. I like him and think he will be a solid rotational player that can score from anywhere and does actually like the glass though some think not. Realistically don't think PF will be such a priority target for TS myself. Am not as worried about the D moving forward as I was this time last year because of Cam, Hunter and Capela.

So you’d rather go with offense in any form other than the power forward? Makes sense. Wonder who fits that’s bill? 🤔

Uh....don't get me wrong I like Toppin and would draft him but it just seems crazy that this draft is so weak up top that he goes in the top five. As for shooting I still like the kid Nwora as a SF late in the first because scoring is what he does well from any range. Of course that college body will need some work but even so he doesn't mind contact at all. So for example maybe our late second and one or two other secondary assets get us a pick around #25??? Folks really don't like this draft anyway. Also a bolder move would be to go after Precious with one of two "possible" firsts and his NBA ready size looks strong as a SF first and maybe PF secondarily. Would take some wheeling by TS for Precious but out of those three we could grab two would think. And yeah I know the draft is a PG draft which makes me even more confused.

For me Obbi Toppin is Jabari Parker, he is compared to Drew Golden too.

Okongwu is Bam Adebayo

Wiseman might be lower version if Anthony Davis

Edwards might be Oladipo

okoro is compared to Justin Anderson

Haliburton is compared to Dejounte Murray

Hayes is compared to a better version of Dante Exum.

Those are some reasons why my top 5 are Wiseman, Edwards, Okongwu, Halliburton and Hayes.

Those aren't the comparisons I need to see. 🤢

I haven’t seen enough from Wiseman to want him but if he drafted him I wouldn’t be mad necessarily! The saying today is that “you can never have too many wings” for this era but shit in my opinion you can never have to many quality big men on the team!
It’s amazing to me how it’s overlooked but when we had our 60 win season we had arguably the best big man rotation that season among all teams and many years the spurs had the best big man rotation and Kobe’s lakers had a very good big man rotations. Today we see both the lakers and bucks have the best big man rotation in the nba and they happen to be the best two teams....I just think the small ball stuff gets talked about too much and goes way over the top compared to reality! Anyways I’m not all that much into Wiseman but at the same time I do understand it takes bigs in this era longer to develop and adjust usually a 3-4 year span (see sabonis, giannis, Bam) unlike guards who enter the nba today, so if we got wiseman I’d be ok with it....I would just hope that in 3-4 years we’d have an outstanding big man rotation surrounded around trae and cam.

however on the flip side ...if we had the number one pick I’m taking Edwards and not looking back.

there are some concerns with Edwards but trust me that kid has star written all over him due to his ability to put the ball in basket. By year 3 in the nba he’s going to be scoring machine along with the ability and chance to show he’s a good defender as well.

the BIGGEST issue with Edwards is if he were drafted by the hawks, how would that combo of him and Trae look in the backcourt?

Both players would be forced to play off ball and I’m not sure how that would play out.

Edwards handles are already good enough to actually take some pressure off of Trae when Trae is at point. With that pick though someone gets traded in a couple of years or less would think, am guessing Huerter. Saying that with Cam and Hunter as clear starters next season to me and personally don't see them being moved. Too many of anything roundball can be a good problem to have though and would give TS some ammo to work with hopefully.

Edwards makes bad decisions, Can't shoot, terrible play maker and doesn't play defense.  What do people see in this guy? Plus the Hawks already have 2 young shooting guards on the roster so where does Edwards fit in?

If Travis think Skal is our backup PF there is no point in drafting Toppin. Toppin is a bad defender, if Parker did not work here, Toppin neither.

Our holes are at backup PG and another wing, is also questionable is Dedmon is our backup solution at C as I think after next year he is gone to have cap space for 2021.
Haliburton, Okongwu, Edwards, Wiseman, Hayes all fill the need. About backup wing I do not see anyone worth spending a high draft pick.
