"too" Dribble, pass, and shoot are his three main criteria, but looking at John Collins in particular, there are indicators that he looks for that suggest to him one of these three are possible for the player. I'd be convinced that they would draft Okoro if his shooting indicators weren't so poor, and I'm curious to see if they believe he will shoot. Most of the prospects that Atlanta will be looking at are extremely flawed. The guy with the best indicators for the Hawks is Okongwu.

NBASupes
If I had to do a mock draft, no trades based on what I am hearing: 1. Ball 2. Deni 3. The hardest one, Charlotte hasn't let the cat out the hat. I'll say Edwards but I am not sure. 4. Hayes 5. Okoro 6. Toppin 7. Haliburton 8. Okongwu 9. Wiseman 10. J. Smith 1. What you last heard was Wasserman is what others are also hearing. 2. I am hearing is near lock. If you want Deni, you will have to jump GS. 3. I took a guess. No clue. 4. Chicago is leaning to draft a playmaker. 5. Okoro is their guy but if Edwards slides... 6. Toppin is in a strange place. Atlanta likes him but they also like others. If he doesn't get drafted here, he could slide to 10 and later. This is the most up in the air room since 2018 when scouts/GMs/coaches/owners were split between JJJ/Luka/Trae/Bagley/Sexton/Bamba. This might be a trade down spot but Atlanta wants a lot to move down. I am hearing they would be okay here. I think Okoro would be their pick if available. He has the most lovers within the org. 7. Haliburton and Hayes are their targets but if Wiseman is on the board, he would give them a serious thought. I heard Tyrese Maxey name here as well. 8. I am hearing they like Hayes but Okongwu is a guy they like. High BBIQ, defensive versatility, and style of play really fits what Thibs wants from a big. 9. Washington wants a big bad. I was told they considered moving up but didn't want to trade a future 1st. J. Smith is possible at this slot. 10. PHX is a trade down candidate but I was told they like Jalen Smith. A name that's been mentioned with Smith, Kurt Thomas. Teams think he can be a modern KT. He's getting some looks even by Atlanta. Atlanta has marked off three players I've heard: Wiseman Ball Edwards The 7 players I got Atlanta is looking at is: O. Toppin Okoro Patrick Williams Nesmith Vassell Haliburton Okongwu Cole Anthony, Jalen Smith, Tyrese Maxey, Kira Lewis, and R.J. Hampton are all players Atlanta has targeted to a degree for looks that are mid 1st guys. I was told Atlanta is not looking to draft a center. They feel they have enough of them. I haven't gotten any leans yet but they have positive to say about all 7 guys. It's said they will be going BPA and this has nothing to do with FA either. Brooklyn hasn't shown much interest in giving away 19 to take on Prince contract, it's not a lock they don't won't either. So much depends on trades. They are open to the Oladipo market and that's their target guy right now. 2

The analytics team is very high on him. Scouts and TS aren't so high is the last I heard but he's a name that Atlanta is seriously keeping an eye on like a Hawk. The biggest pick in this draft if not trades will be #3. I really think MJ will take Edwards and take him under his wing like Kemba but Edwards has more potential.

Do you think Bazemore is a 3? He can fake the funk at the 3 but no one thinks he can guard big wings or 4s on occasion. Too small. I am higher overall on Culver than Vassell and I didn't like Culver and even MIN is admitting it was a bust. He needs a much better frame. If he was built like a young Rodman or Mikal Bridges, I would be much higher on him but shit, so would everyone else. 3 minutes ago, terrell said: Funny thing is, I had a dream a few weeks ago, we traded up for Deni...lol I hope your dream is just that because the price to move up will be too much. Earlier you were reporting that Atlanta would take him if he's there. Do you think if he some how drops to the Hawks at 6, they'd take him or is it best for him to get out of Atlanta? Also, weird they'd want Haliburton over Hayes. He seems like more of a two guard than a one to me. Edited September 29, 2020 by marco102

Atlanta is not the best situation for him. Atlanta should learn from the Spellman and Schröder experience with maturity. Charlotte could be different. Simply because MJ is there and MJ might see himself in Edwards talent wise.
