I knew where this topic was headed hence my googling.

I thought what you did was good.  So lets put our heads together and objectively evaluate LP's performance thus far like we do with John Collins.

Why are you guys so afraid to give your honest opinion about LP?

Ah geez.  why do i bother.  we all already have given our honest opinion 1000 times.  He's been good at some things, ok at others.  Handed a young and truly crummy roster and did the best he could with it.   He shouldn't be fired for not taking a truly horrible roster and situation to the playoffs, but if he shows he can't lead the team in the future then no one here is that married to him.  (speaking for everyone :))

What's the point of trying to 'prove' to everyone that you think he sucks and should be fired?   It's not happening.   I guess this is the loooooong setup for when if he doesn't pan out you can say 'see this was what i was saying a year ago' ?    Can we get a new topic?

This time we are using a rating system...A tool we haven't used before so it is different.

Why are you running away from my question(s)?  What're you afraid of, Old Peo?

Here's another one, do successful organizations fire coaches after under 2 years or do failing organizations fire coaches after under 2 years?

Don't hijack the Thread.  People are discussing whether to let John walk to avoid paying him the max and I know successful organizations don't do that.  All I am looking for on this thread is everybody's honest opinions on the categories outlined so beautifully by @JayBirdHawk.

Yes.  This is so, so different.   Analytical, fact based, no hyperbole.

What's your opinion then?

One of his staunchest critics has already crunched all of the numbers and concluded that he's slightly above average. It seems your thread has already achieved an honest evaluation. Nothing more to do. Great job.

His roster 2 years ago had very capable defenders and the team still was last in point allowed.  He had plenty of vets on that team and still led the league in turnovers.  Many of these teams stats are specific to him.  Bud had a far worse team the year prior and wasn't last in those categories.

See, this is why I don't wanna play. You can't objectively say this with a straight face and expect to be taken seriously.

His two best offensive players in Trae and John were two of the worse defenders at their positions in the league.

Baze was supposed to be decent on defense, he got replaced by a rookie after 20 something games.

This is LPs first year roster, those a some capable defensive players there.🤨

What about Dedmon, Len and Prince?  Baze still played and so did Bembry.

Alright...Peo....I'll play!

I'm giving LP a C+.

He's a work in progress. It's his 2nd year.

I'd like to see him with a full complimentary roster for a season, not a tanking roster and what TS tried to pass off as vets this year.

We've seen improvement in different areas of the development of our CORE players that are expected to be here next season. They also are still works in progress.

Areas of note for LP to work on:

1. In game adjustments, rotations etc....that will come with experience.

I have no real issue with the offensive or defensive philosophy at the moment - players learning the system and ACTUALLY EXECUTING the play along with better players should give a more accurate picture if this system is sustainable for this group.

Done!
