No i mean 3rd rounder from the wizards

You know there are only two rounds in the draft and therefore third rounders don’t exist, right?

What's the story behind Edwards skipping his 'senior' season of High School to go to college?

Edit #1:Well, he re-classified as a junior.  What does it mean and how does that work?

He's still 18...should be going to college this season if he didn't skip/reclassify that year.

Edit #2:

A prospective student-athlete must complete his or her core-curriculum requirements not later than the high school graduation date of the prospective student-athlete’s class [as determined by the first year of enrollment in high school (ninth grade) or the international equivalent…]. Graduation from high school or secondary school shall be based on the prospective student-athlete’s prescribed educational path in his or her country.

This generally means that a prospect must have finished the NCAA’s 16 require core courses by the time he or she finishes high school. A prospect’s GPA is also more or less locked in based on classes completed before graduation.

Edwards is super young for his class since he is born in August.  As you've stated, between the summer of his Junior and Senior year he must have taken more classes to be eligible to become a Senior.

No idea how that works, but a lot of players seem to do this. I know Marvin Bagley did it too.  They may have been held back in middle school for sports reasons and then when it's most beneficial reclassify or stay where they are.

This is all speculation on my part, btw.

It's hard to go against Edwards in this class.

There are legit questions:

Doesn't fit Trae

Defense is iffy

Does he help us next year when it comes to winning? Nope!

But that ceiling is too high to pass up and having top end value is easier to trade than not having top end value.

Edwards is not only the #1 pick for the Hawks but the #1 prospect for this class just due to the positional value for trades.
