I think he got used to KD and Russ getting all the shots. They probably told him, set screens, rebound, defend.

I wanted Adams too.  Besides what he does on the floor, his contract length was a selling point.  OKC wanted too much though  - salary relief, young player and a pick.  It'll be interesting to see if they pull the trigger and trade him what they will get now.

This is the one thing I love hearing about:

Talking on defense will help alot.

He would have been the best overall fit of all the centers. Our wings fit everybody especially Cam and Hunter.

Embiid is a poor system fit especially since be sucks at the PnR and setting screens but he would be a good fit with JC. Trae and him are decent fits.

Capela is a perfect fit for Trae but rough fit with Collins.

Drummond would have been the worse fit by far.

Adams is the perfect fit for JC and an excellent fit for Trae. That's why he was the best target on the board because of FIT. That said, Embiid and Capela are better players and Drummond is more productive.

That actually makes sense.   I understand your point about JC and CC but i'm guessing they'll be plenty of time on the court without each other too which means Trae will always have that pnr big to go to whether we're going small with JC at center or small 1-4 with Hunter or someone at 4 and capela at 5.

Right now, it's wait and see how everything works.  Will these players all fit together?

I say, The Hawks now have what they need to be successful!  If they remain healthy and don't produce, heads will roll.  "We're so young and inexperienced" has been our battle cry.  Too much time lost.  Weak bench.  Weak center.  Last season was the opportunity for our extra young men to learn and mature.  We believe that they did.  All the bad things that hampered us last season has been addressed.

Time to roll.

Capela's contract he signed with the Rockets include $10 million in incentives.  His base salary is  $16,000,000,  $17,103,448,  $18,206,897.

Quote

Capela's contract includes $2 million bonus that's dependent, in part, on him playing 2,000 minutes this year.

Through 42 games, he has logged 1,436 minutes, so hitting his playing time threshold may be impossible as a result of the injury.

Capela will earn a base salary of nearly $13.8 million this season. On top of that, he's eligible for up to $2 million in incentives

Capela and the Rockets will need to reach the Western Conference Finals in order for him to collect a $1 million bonus. He has another $500,000 bonus available based both on his minutes and whether he finishes with a defensive rebounding rate higher than 30 percent. He currently sits at 26 percent, according to Basketball Reference.

Capela is also eligible to earn $500,000 more if he shoots at least 65 percent from the charity stripe while making 150 or more free throws. So far, he has made 109 free throws while hitting 62.6 percent of his attempts.

Do DNP coach's decision count as missed games?  If so he'll never hit those incentive with small ball Lloyd at the helm!

We, the fans of this Hawk team, have waited and waited.  We want to see what our team plays like with a real, genuine NBA center.

Our weakest link to start the season last fall was at center.  Second, our bench and third, experience.

We believe that we will have a genuine NBA team this upcoming season.

The draft, free agency and the trade deadline awaits!

GO ATL HAWKS !!
