This let's Washington recoup something for Beal.  Something better than what LAL can offer.   Trae and Beal wants to win.   We'll see Brooklyn in the ECF.

Do you know who Beal is?

Nope. Who will you phave playing center.  Build the deepest team possible and the defense will be atrocious with Beal and Trae.  Beal has shown the ability to play good defense when his offensive workload isn't as heavy though. 

So you want Dewayne Dedmond starting?

What assets, young players and picks does GSW, LAL or BKN have that the Wizards would actually want for Beal to force the Hawks to overpay.

Besides GSW that has #2 and the Minny 2021 1st but that would come with taking Wiggins. LAL has nothing but Kuzma, BKN has Levert and Allen.

If Washington was the do a deal for Beal, it would be a deal that allows them to start over.   The #2 and the #9 pick in this draft and the  Minny Pick next year is a great restart.   Plus... Holding Wiggins while their team grows up and them trading him at the end of his contract is what teams in the middle of a restart does.

What is so special about Beal?  He is not a superstar so why pay superstar capital to get him?  Sure he scores a lot of points but so does Kyrie!  Those points don't turn into wins too often.

Superstars need complimentary players to win.  Heck, even Lebron's Lakers sucked in the 2018 - 19 season.  Yes, Lebron missed a ton of games that season, but they still were only 28 - 27 with him in the lineup.

You team Trae - Beal - Collins together, and you have 3 legit 20 ppg scorers, with two of those that we know that can take over the game with their own offense.

If we're talking about competing at a high level, remember the formula for winning Championships in the NBA

• A Hall of Fame talent playing at or near peak level
• An All-Star talent playing at or near peak level
• A 3rd guy who has the ability to play at an All-Star level
• A team that is top 10 in defense
• A team that is top 10 in offense

You add Beal to the Hawks, while keeping Collins, you at least possess the ability to have 4 out of 5 of those elements.

Any deal that brings a talent like Bradley Beal to ATL, that doesn't give up John Collins, Hawks fans should be all over that.  

And if you truly believe the young players like Cam or Hunter are going to be real good, you can even consider giving up Collins instead of Capela.
